A novel monolithic silica column that has a polar‐embedded amide‐secondary amine group linking with C16 functionality for RP‐CEC is described. The amide‐secondary aminealkyloxysilane was synthesized by the reaction of 3‐(2‐aminoethylamino) propyltrimethoxysilane with hexadecanoyl chloride. Then, the silylant agent was bonded to the silica monolith matrix to produce hexadecanamide‐secondary amine bonded silica (HDAIS) monolithic column. The electrochromatographic performance of HDAIS monolithic column for the separation of neutral, basic and polar solutes was studied, which was compared to that using the hexadecyl bonded silica monolithic column. The HDAIS monolithic column displayed reduced hydrophobic retention characteristics in the separation of five hydrophobic n‐alkylbenzenes and four polar phenols when compared to the hexadecyl bonded silica monolithic column. A very much reduced silanol activity of HDAIS monolithic column was observed in the separation of test basic mixture including four aromatic amines, atenolol and metoprolol with 10 mM borate buffer (pH 7.5) containing 30% v/v ACN as the mobile phase. The comparison results indicate good performance for both polar and basic mixtures on HDAIS monolithic column in RP‐CEC, and also show promising results for further applications. 相似文献

Carbon, Ni, and C-Ni alloy modified embedded atom method (MEAM) potentials were developed to study the initial process of carbon nanotube growth on Ni catalyst particles. The MEAM potentials were used to study the atomistic interaction between a carbon atom and a fcc Ni nano particle, both on the particle surfaces and inside the Ni nano particles. The result shows that surface carbon atom is more stable than those in the bulk and sub-surface interstitial positions. Carbon atoms are expected to diffuse from the bulk to the surface, and the single walled and double-walled carbon nanotubes would be more favorable to form on Ni nano particle catalyst. The carbon and Ni nano particle interaction calculation shows that the corner and the edge of the particle are the energetically more favorable sites for the carbon adatom. The carbon nanotube may grow from the corner and edge of the particle. 相似文献

We consider the problem of embedding eigenvalues into the essential spectrum of periodic Jacobi operators, using an oscillating, decreasing potential. To do this we employ a geometric method, previously used to embed eigenvalues into the essential spectrum of the discrete Schrödinger operator. For periodic Jacobi operators we relax the rational dependence conditions on the values of the quasi-momenta from this previous work. We then explore conditions that permit not just the existence of infinitely many subordinate solutions to the formal spectral equation but also the embedding of infinitely many eigenvalues. 相似文献

The authors aimed to investigate the diffusion of Cu monomer, dimer and trimer on Ag (110) (1×2) missing‐row surface. This problem is addressed through molecular dynamic simulation based on semi‐empirical many‐body potential, derived from the embedded atom method. Within this approach, we have identified and calculated the activation energy of each microscopic mechanism. Thus, for Cu monomer, the diffusion process occurs essentially by simple hopping between nearest‐neighbor sites. While for the Cu dimer, three processes have been identified such as dissociation–reassociation (DR), concerted jump (CJ) and leapfrog mechanisms (LF) with a slight predominance of DR process and a dual competition between CJ and LF processes. But, in the case of small one‐dimensional cluster such as trimer on (110)(1×2) missing‐row reconstructed surface, the main diffusion mechanism is the LF process. These results shed light on the diffusion processes on missing‐row reconstructed surfaces, especially for heterogeneous systems. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献
