Optimally Conditions for Pareto Nonsmooth Nonconvex Programming in Banach Spaces

In this paper, we consider a vector optimization problem where all functions involved are defined on Banach spaces. We obtain necessary and sufficient criteria for optimality in the form of Karush–Kuhn–Tucker conditions. We also introduce a nonsmooth dual problem and provide duality theorems.     

A new method for solving a system of generalized nonlinear variational inequalities in Banach spaces

The purpose of this paper is by using the generalized projection approach to introduce an iterative scheme for finding a solution to a system of generalized nonlinear variational inequality problem. Under suitable conditions, some existence and strong convergence theorems are established in uniformly smooth and strictly convex Banach spaces. The results presented in the paper improve and extend some recent results.     

Improved estimation of duality gap in binary quadratic programming using a weighted distance measure

We present in this paper an improved estimation of duality gap between binary quadratic program and its Lagrangian dual. More specifically, we obtain this improved estimation using a weighted distance measure between the binary set and certain affine subspace. We show that the optimal weights can be computed by solving a semidefinite programming problem. We further establish a necessary and sufficient condition under which the weighted distance measure gives a strictly tighter estimation of the duality gap than the existing estimations.

在类比系统中研究引力和黑洞的性质

引力和量子力学的融合是理解时空起源和引力本质的重要问题,也是一个长期悬而未决的基础物理学根本问题。理论物理学家们对此提出了诸多理论猜想,也做出了许多预言。然而一些相关的预言涉及的效应极其微弱,因此难以通过实验观测加以证实。通过类比引力系统,人们可以将这些引力效应转化为实验室可测可控系统的一些效应。对这些类比系统的研究一方面可以帮助人们更深入地理解引力的性质本身,另一方面也可以为其他相关领域的研究提供启发和新的思路。文章将以几个具体的类比系统为例简要介绍类比引力研究的历史和最近的一些研究进展。     

Higher-Order (F,α,β,ρ,d,E)-Convexity in Fractional Programming

In this paper we define higher order (F,α,β,ρ,d,E)-convex function with respect to E-differentiable function K and obtain optimality conditions for nonlinear programming problem (NP) from the concept of higher order (F,α,β,ρ,d)-convexity. Here, we establish Mond-Weir and Wolfe duality for (NP) and utilize these duality in nonlinear fractional programming problem.

On some applications of Wald's identity to dams

It is known that the main difficulty in applying the Markovian analogue of Wald's Identity is the presence, in the Identity, of the last state variable before the random walk is terminated. In this paper we show that this difficulty can be overcome if the underlying Markov chain has a finite state space. The absorption probabilities thus obtained are used, by employing a duality argument, to derive time-dependent and limiting probabilities for the depletion process of a dam with Markovian inputs.The second problem that is considered here is that of a non-homogeneous but cyclic Markov chain. An analogue of Wald's Identity is obtained for this case, and is used to derive time- dependent and limiting probabilities for the depletion process with inputs forming a non- homogeneous (cyclic) Markov chain.     

Non-coercive Linear Elliptic Problems

We study here some linear elliptic partial differential equations (with Dirichlet, Fourier or mixed boundary conditions), to which convection terms (first order perturbations) are added that entail the loss of the classical coercivity property. We prove the existence, uniqueness and regularity results for the solutions to these problems.
