Thin graphite overlayers: Graphene and alkali metal intercalation

Using LEED and angle resolved photoemission for characterisation we have prepared graphite overlayers with down to monolayer thickness by heating SiC crystals and monitored alkali metal intercalation for the multilayer films. The valence band structure of the monolayer is similar to that calculated for graphene though downshifted by around 0.8 eV and with a small gap at the zone corner. The shift suggests that the transport properties, which are of much present interest, are similar to that of a biased graphene sample. Upon alkali metal deposition the 3D character of the π states is lost and the resulting band structure becomes graphene like. A comparison with data obtained for ex situ prepared intercalation compounds indicates that the graphite film has converted to the stage 1 compounds C₈K or C₈Rb. Advantages with the present preparation method is that the graphite film can be recovered by desorbing small amounts of alkali metal and that the progress of compound formation can be monitored. The energy shifts measured after different deposits indicate that saturation is reached in three steps. Our interpretation is that in the first the alkali atoms are dispersed while the final steps are characterized by the formation of first one and then a second (2 × 2) ordered alkali metal layer adjacent to the uppermost carbon layer.

针对常规分立双积分AD只能处理单端信号的问题,给出了一种输入和基准电压均支持差分信号的分立差分双积分AD。在热电阻测量中,把热电阻和基准电阻串联同一回路,以基准电阻压降作为基准,对热电阻的压降进行测量,并从软硬件两个方面对常见的误差因素进行对消处理。实验表明,该电路用于PT100测温时,跳字不超过0.1℃,精度可以达到±0.1℃,且对运放型号无特殊要求,是一种低成本、高精度的温度测量方案。     

The Spectral Intensity of the Plasma of Single and Double Laser Pulses

We compare radiation of plasma flares produced on exposure of metals to laser radiation in a monopulse generation mode in the case of single and double pulses with change in air pressure. For double pulses, we established an increase in the duration and intensity of the radiation of spectral lines and also an analogy between the change in their intensities and those of single pulses obtained at a reduced air pressure.

全三维35 GHz双阳极磁控注入式电子枪数值模拟研究

基于trade-off平衡方程组得到35GHz双阳极磁控注入式电子枪的初始参数,通过编程对其主要参数进行优化设计,并经由自主研发的PIC粒子模拟软件CHIPIC中的电子枪计算模块对其进行全三维的数值模拟研究,最终获得了具有横纵速度比为1.5,最大速度零散约为5.4%的高性能电子枪,能够很好地满足35GHz-100kW回旋振荡管对电子束的要求。     

Simulation for double shell pinch

Basic shock phenomena are presented in a composite pinch, a hybrid of the Z-pinch. The successive transfer of current within the plasma structure is demonstrated by our calculations. Properties of the shock wave are described.The current distribution between the two shells after the outer shell hitting the inner shell is also discussed.     

Segmented HPGe detectors for the search of neutrinoless double beta-decay

Neutrinoless double beta-decay (0vbb-decay) is the most promising approach to distinguish between the possibilities of a Dirac or a Majorana nature of neutrinos. Additionally, a measurement of the half-life of 0vbb-decay can give information on the absolute mass scale of neutrinos. At the moment HPGe detectors yield the most sensitive limits on this Lepton-number violating process. The segmentation of HPGe detectors increases the experimental sensitivity by allowing the reconstruction of event topologies. The successful operation of prototype detectors submerged in cryoliquid demonstrates the viability of this experimental approach.     

Phase dependence of cross-phase modulation in asymmetric quantum wells

We study the Kerr nonlinearity associated with cross-phase modulation based on electromagnetically induced transparency in asymmetric double quantum wells. It is shown that, different from atomic system, not only the nonlinear dispersion and absorption but also the linear absorption depends on the relative phase of the laser fields because of the Fano interference. By choosing the parameters appropriately, large cross-phase modulation with nearly vanishing two-photon absorption, even π phase shift with single photon level, could be achieved in the asymmetric quantum wells.
