In this paper, we show that if H is a finite-dimensional Hopf algebra such that H and H^* are semisimple, then gl.dim(A#σH)=gl.dim(A), where a is a convolution invertible cocycle. We also discuss the relationship of global dimensions between the crossed product A^#σH and the algebra A, where A is coacted by H. Dually, we give a sufficient condition for a finite dimensional coalgebra C and a finite dimensional semisimple Hopf algebra H such that gl.dim(C α H)=gl.dim(C).  相似文献

We describe our observation of strongly oriented total electronic angular momentum J in O(3P2), Ne(3P2), and He(3S1) atoms emerging from a bent magnetic multipole guide, as measured by resonant multiphoton ionisation. This was contrary to our expectation because no additional (uniform) magnetic fields were applied to orient the atoms behind the exit of the guide. Two- and three-photon ionisation techniques were employed to determine the degree of J polarisation, from which we infer that atoms become oriented as a result of a combination of weak fringe fields, possible stray fields, and the fact that molecular beam packets do not oscillate around the geometric center of the bent multipole guide. We conclude that similar effects may exist in other, related experiments and that a detailed characterisation of the degree of orientation is required prior to any study of chemical dynamics or spectroscopy. This paper should serve as a warning for anybody using similar devices not to assume isotropic angular momentum distributions of atoms and molecules emerging from a magnetic guide or a decelerator, particularly when it is bent; whenever possible, the possibility for a J anisotropy should be experimentally checked.  相似文献

We give a general method for computing the cyclic cohomology of crossed products by étale groupoids, extending the Feigin–Tsygan–Nistor spectral sequences. In particular we extend the computations performed by Brylinski, Burghelea, Connes, Feigin, Karoubi, Nistor, and Tsygan for the convolution algebra C c (G) of an étale groupoid, removing the Hausdorffness condition and including the computation of hyperbolic components. We analyze the decomposition rank (a notion of covering dimensionfor nuclear C*-algebras introduced by E. Kirchberg and the author)of subhomogeneous C*-algebras. In particular, we show that asubhomogeneous C*-algebra has decomposition rank n if and onlyif it is recursive subhomogeneous of topological dimension n,and that n is determined by the primitive ideal space. As an application, we use recent results of Q. Lin and N. C.Phillips to show the following. Let A be the crossed productC*-algebra coming from a compact smooth manifold and a minimaldiffeomorphism. The non-commutative torus C *(n,) is realized as the C*-algebra of sections of a locally trivial C*-algebra bundle over S with fibres isomorphic to C *n/S, 1) for a totally skew multiplier 1 on n/S. D. Poguntke [9] proved that A is stably isomorphic to C(S) C(*( Zn/S, 1) C(S) A Mkl( C) for a simple non-commutative torus A and an integer kl. It is well-known that a stable isomorphism of two separable C*-algebras is equivalent to the existence of equivalence bimodule between them. We construct an A-C(S) A-equivalence bimodule.  相似文献

Let H be a Hopf k-algebra. We study the global homological dimension of the underlying coalgebra structure of H. We show that gl.dim(H) is equal to the injective dimension of the trivial right H-comodule k. We also prove that if D = C H is a crossed coproduct with invertible , then gl.dim(D) gl.dim(C) + gl.dim(H). Some applications of this result are obtained. Moreover, if C is a cocommutative coalgebra such that C * is noetherian, then the global dimension of the coalgebra C coincides with the global dimension of the algebra C *.  相似文献

Extensions of crossed modules in Lie algebras with abelian kernel are studied, particularly backward and forward induced extensions and related properties. The set Opext((U, Q, ), (R, K, )) of congruence classes of extensions of (R, K, ) by (U, Q, ) is endowed with a K-vector space structure. We introduce the notion of n-fold track extensions of a category C by a natural system D and prove that such extensions represent classes in the cohomology of C with coefficients in D introduced by Baues–Wirsching. This generalizes a result of Huebschmann on the cohomology of groups.  相似文献
