On the (semi)lattices induced by continuous reducibilities

Continuous reducibilities are a proven tool in Computable Analysis, and have applications in other fields such as Constructive Mathematics or Reverse Mathematics. We study the order‐theoretic properties of several variants of the two most important definitions, and especially introduce suprema for them. Exact controllability and continuous dependence of fractional neutral integro-differential equations with state-dependent delay

In the present paper, with the help of the resolvent operator and some analytic methods, the exact controllability and continuous dependence are investigated for a fractional neutral integro-differential equations with state-dependent delay. As an application, we also give one example to demonstrate our results.     

Research on identifying the order of fringe pattern traces using angular scan and zone search method

A method for automatically identifying the order of fringe pattern traces is presented. It uses the simplified Otsu algorithm for obtaining the threshold, the angular scan in the range of 45~ for searching the trace positions, and the zone search technique for identifying different traces. Experimental results show that the proposed method may reliably obtain the order of fringe pattern traces orientating from almost 45° to 90°.     

On sums of Darboux and nowhere constant continuous functions

A New Method for Estimating the Distribution of Scan Statistics for a Two-Dimensional Poisson Process

A method for estimating the distribution of scan statistics with high precisìon was introduced in Haiman (2000). Using that method sharp bounds for the errors were also established. This paper is concerned with the application of the method in Haiman (2000) to a two-dimensional Poisson process. The method involves the estimation by simulation of the conditional (fixed number of points) distribution of scan statistics for the particular rectangle sets of size 2 × 2, 2 × 3, 3 × 3, where the unit is the (1 × 1) dimension of the squared scanning window. In order to perform these particular estimations, we develop and test a perfect simulation algorithm. We then perform several numerical applications and compare our results with results obtained by other authors.     

Improved RGF method to find saddle points

The predictor-corrector method for following a reduced gradient (RGF) to determine saddle points [Quapp, W. et al., J Comput Chem 1998, 19, 1087] is further accelerated by a modification allowing an implied corrector step per predictor but almost without additional costs. The stability and robustness of the RGF method are improved, and the new version in addition reduces the number of gradient and Hessian calculations.

Schrödinger Operators with Empty Singularly Continuous Spectra

Let H be a semibounded perturbation of the Laplacian H ₀ in L ²( ^d ). For an admissible function sufficient conditions are given for the completeness of the scattering system (H), (H ₀). If is the exponential function and if e^{– H} is an integral operator we denote the kernel of the difference D = e^{– H} – e^{– H} ₀ by D (x, y), > 0. The singularly continuous spectrum of H is empty if^d dx ^d dy |D(x,y)| (1 + |y|²)< for some > 1. This result is applied to potential perturbations and to perturbations by imposing Dirichlet boundary conditions.
