Nonlinear wave processes in shockloaded elastoplastic materials are modeled. A comparison of the results obtained with experimental data and numerical solutions of exact systems of dynamic equations shows that the model equations proposed qualitatively describe the stressdistribution evolution in both the elasticflow and plasticflow regions and can be used to solve one and twodimensional problems of pulsed deformation and fracture of elastoplastic media.  相似文献

In the present work, the evolution of the inelastic centre deflections of shock wave-loaded circular metal plates due to repeated loadings is studied experimentally and numerically. These displacements are compared to those of quasi-statically deformed plates loaded by a pressure equal to the peak pressure of the impulsive loading. Thereby three types of permanent centre deflections are observed: (1) The quasi-statically obtained deflection is exceeded by the middle point displacement of a dynamically loaded structure already after the first impulse and tends towards a limit state after repeated shock wave-loadings. (2) The centre deflection of the impulsively loaded plate exceeds also the quasi-statically caused deflection and does not increase after repeated impulsive loadings any more. (3) The permanent middle point displacement of a dynamically loaded plate is smaller than the deflection of a quasi-statically loaded one and tends towards the middle point displacement of the quasi-static counterpart after repeated shock wave loadings. This phenomenon is known in the literature as ‘Pseudo-shakedown’.

The structure and dynamics of the wave field generated by a bubble system in the form of an axial bubble cylinder (cord) excited by a plane shock wave propagating along the axis in an axisymmetric shock tube are numerically examined. It is shown that consecutive excitation of oscillations of the bubble zone results in formation of a quasi-steady shock wave in the cord and in the ambient liquid. Longitudinal wave velocity is used to characterize the point defects in crystalline solids. High purity Al single crystal was selected for both the finite element analysis and experimental work. Since the jog motions of dislocations caused by intersected slides such as cross slips induce point defects, the total amount of cross slips was calculated instead of calculating directly from the point defects. The effect of crystal orientations on total amount of cross slips under pure shear was also investigated via the finite element method. The result suggest that if the initial shear stress direction is located at the inner side of stereographic triangle, only single slip activities occurred at the beginning of plastic deformation and no effects due to point defects were present. However, as the shear stress direction rotates along the slip direction, point defects are induced by cross slips between primary and secondary slip systems due to work-hardening. This phenomenon was then examined by measuring longitudinal wave velocity changes propagating in Al single crystal subjected to the combination loads of equi-biaxial tension and compression (a pure shear state). Good qualitative agreement between the finite element result and measured data suggest that the longitudinal wave velocity can be used as an index to characterize point defects in crystalline materials.  相似文献

Universal motions with uniform steady vorticity form a corolla of linear spaces derived from rigid body motions. Closely related to potential flows, they satisfy two extensions of Lagrange theorem, are investigated with the help of complex functions, as stand celebrated when be plane. They take place in hydrodynamics, aerodynamics, geophysics, astrophysics, turbulence, physics of plasmas and superfluid helium. In all the cases, arbitrary unsteady span-wise translations permit to generalise as well as to exhibit helical or 3D universal motions. A nonlinear problem of motion of a solid sphere near a free surface of an infinitely deep fluid is considered. For the case of motion with a constant acceleration starting from rest, the solution is studied using a smalltime expansion. Expansion coefficients up to the fourth power inclusive are found for the free surface elevation and for the force acting on the sphere. The solutions for linear and nonlinear conditions on the free surface are compared.  相似文献

The linear theory of thermoelasticity without energy dissipation is employed to study thermoelastic interactions in a homogeneous and isotropic unbounded body containing a cylindrical cavity. The interactions are supposed to be due to a constant step in radial stress or temperature applied to the boundary of the acvity, which is maintained at a constant temperature or zero radial stress (as the case may be). By using the Laplace transform technique, it is found that the interactions consist of two coupled waves both of which propagate with a finite speed but with no attenuation. The discontinuities that occurs at the wavefronts are computed. Numerical results applicable to a copper-like material are presented.  相似文献
