We propose a method called ‘coherence swapping’ which enables us to create superposition of a particle in two distinct paths,
which is fed with initially incoherent, independent radiation. This phenomenon is also present for the charged particles,
and can be used to swap the effect of flux line due to the Aharonov-Bohm effect. We propose an optical version of experimental
set-up to test the coherence swapping. The phenomenon, which is simpler than entanglement swapping or teleportation, raises

We analyze the reading and initialization of a topological qubit encoded by Majorana fermions in one-dimensional semiconducting nanowires, weakly coupled to a single level quantum dot (QD). It is shown that when the Majorana fermions are fused by tuning gate voltage, the topological qubit can be read out directly through the occupation of the QD in an energy window. The initialization of the qubit can also be realized via adjusting the gate voltage on the QD, with the total fermion parity conserved. We consider the Dirac particle that lives in the 1-dimensional configuration space consisting of two quantum wires and a junction between the two. We regard the spin of a Dirac particle as spintronic qubit. We give concrete formulae explicitly expressing the one-to-one correspondence between every self-adjoint extension of the minimal Dirac operator and its corresponding boundary condition of the wave functions of the Dirac particle. We then show that all the boundary conditions can be classified into just two types. The two types are characterized by whether the electron passes through the junction or not. We also show how the tunneling produces its own phase factor and what is the relation between the phase factor and the spintronic qubit in the tunneling boundary condition. 相似文献

At an extremely low temperature of 20 mK, we measured the loop current in a tunable rf superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) with a dc-SQUID. By adjusting the magnetic flux applied to the rf-SQUID loop (Φ f ) and the small dc-SQUID (Φ cjj f ), respectively, the potential shape of the system can be fully controlled in situ. Variation in the transition step and overlap size in the switching current with a barrier flux bias are analyzed, from which we can obtain some relevant device parameters and build a model to explain the experimental phenomenon. 相似文献
