Solvable model of quantum-optical feedback

A quantized optical cavity mode controlled by dissipation, two-photon source and feedback loop is studied. The feedback is activated by detections of photons leaving the cavity and consists of rapid phase shifts of the cavity field by π. The steady-state of the mode and first-order field correlation functions let analytical exploration. The feedback radically modifies the shape of the mode's spectrum - it gets asymmetry and its double-peaked structure manifests itself much more discernibly than in no-feedback case. Up to our knowledge, the present quantum feedback model is the first one which permits exact solution.

一类余维3的鞍-焦点异宿环分支

对余维3系统X_μ(x)具有包含一个双曲鞍-焦点O_1和一个非双曲鞍-焦点O_2的异宿环f进行了研究.证明了在f的邻域内有可数无穷条周期轨线和异宿轨线,当非粗糙异宿轨线Γ~0破裂时X_μ(x)会产生同宿轨分支,并给出了相应的分支曲线和两种同宿环共存的参数值.在3参数扰动下Γ~0破裂和O_2点产生Hopf分支的情况下,在f的邻域内有一条含O_1点同宿环,可数无效多条的轨线同宿于O_2点分支出的闭轨H_0,一条或无穷多条(可数或连续统的)异宿轨线等.     

PERMANENCE AND GLOBAL STABILITY OF A FEEDBACK CONTROL SYSTEM WITH DELAYS

This paper considers a feedback control systems of differential equations with delays. By applying the differential inequality theorem, sufficient conditions for the permanence of the system are obtained. Also, by constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional, a criterion for the global stability of the model is obtained.     

BIFURCATION OF CUBIC INTEGRABLE SYSTEM UNDER CUBIC PERTURBATION

In this paper, we consider the bifurcation for a class of cubic integrable system under cubic perturbation. Using bifurcation theory and qualitative analysis, we obtain a complete bifurcation diagram of the system in a neighbourhood of the origin for parameter plane.     

External-cavity birefringence feedback effects of microchip Nd:YAG laser and its application in angle measurement

External-cavity birefringence feedback effects of the microchip Nd:YAG laser are presented. When a birefringence element is placed in the external feedback cavity of the laser, two orthogonally polarized laser beams with a phase difference are output. The phase difference is twice as large as the phase retardation in the external cavity along the two orthogonal directions. The variable extra-cavity birefringence, caused by rotation of the external-cavity birefringence element, results in tunable phase difference between the two orthogonally polarized beams. This means that the roll angle information has been translated to phase difference of two output laser beams. A theoretical analysis based on the Fabry--Perot cavity equivalent model and refractive index ellipsoid is presented, which is in good agreement with the experimental results. This phenomenon has potential applications for roll angle measurement.     

New results on quadratic stabilization of switched linear systems with polytopic uncertainties

Comparedwith the existing result, a more general switching control methodis proposed to guarantee the quadratic stabilization. This switchingcontrol method is based on the partition of the vertex matrixset of each subsystem. By this method, the matrix inequalitiesneeded to be solved are always less than those needed to besolved before except one extreme case; for this case, it isequal. The switched control synthesis problem is also studiedfor both switched state feedback and output feedback. Severalbilinear matrix inequality based conditions are derived forboth cases.     

Numerical Approximation and Error Analysis for the Timoshenko Beam Equations with Boundary Feedback

In this paper,the numerical approximation of a Timoshenko beam with bound- ary feedback is considered.We derived a linearized three-level difference scheme on uniform meshes by the method of reduction of order for a Timoshenko beam with boundary feedback.It is proved that the scheme is uniquely solvable,unconditionally stable and second order convergent in L_∞norm by using the discrete energy method. A numerical example is presented to verify the theoretical results.     

Relay feedback analysis for a class of servo plants

In this paper, a class of second-order servo plants under relay feedback is studied. Complete results on the uniqueness of solutions, existence and stability of the limit cycles are established using the point transformation method. And a numerical method is developed for determining the amplitude and period of a stable limit cycle from the plant parameters.
