The Yuquan capsules is a commonly used traditional Chinese Patent Medicine used for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. In this study, a high-throughput analytical method for identifying the chemical composition of Yuquan capsules was established for the first time by using ultra-performance liquid chromatography–quadrupole time of flight mass spectrometry. The data obtained were subjected to fragment analysis and this was combined with UNIFI processing of natural products. One-hundred sixteen compounds were characterized from Yuquan capsules. Twelve of the bioactive compounds were quantitatively analyzed by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem triple quadrupole mass spectrometry. This study was undertaken to obtain a comprehensive chemical profile analysis as well as to evaluate the overall quality of Yuquan capsules. The results will provide a reference for the quality evaluation of different Yuquan preparations. The efficient internalization of TGF‐beta inhibitor‐loaded polyelectrolyte capsules and particles is studied in two HCC cell lines. Two polyelectrolyte pairs (biocompatible but not degradable and biodegradable crosslinked with gluteraldehyde) are employed for coating. The capsules are characterized by SEM. LY is successfully loaded inside the core and embedded between polymer layers. MS is used to quantify the loading efficiency by comparing post‐loading and core‐loading methods, since both coated templates and hollow shells are used as carriers. CLSM confirms dissolution of the pre‐formed multilayer upon enzymatic degradation as the method of release, and migration assays demonstrate a higher inhibition efficiency of TGF‐beta in tailored biodegradable capsules compared to free LY administration.

Fully loaded : Noncovalent anchoring of liposomes into polymer multilayered films with cholesterol‐modified polymers allows the preparation of capsosomes—liposome‐compartmentalized polymer capsules (see picture). A quantitative enzymatic reaction confirmed the presence of active cargo within the capsosomes and was used to determine the number of subcompartments within this novel biomedical carrier system.

In this way a principle found in nature for the dispersal of seeds and defensive materials has now been realized in nanotechnology and might be utilized, for example, for the better distribution of drugs in organs.

A tetramer model was investigated of a remarkably stable iodine-containing supramolecular capsule that was most recently characterized by other authors, who described emergent features of the capsule’s formation. In an attempt to address the surprising fact that no strong pair-wise interactions between any of the respective components were experimentally detected in condensed phases, the DFT (density-functional theory) computational model was used to decompose the total stabilization energy as a sum of two-, three- and four-body contributions. This model considers complexes formed between either iodine or bromine and the crucial D4d-symmetric form of octaaryl macrocyclic compound cyclo[8](1,3-(4,6-dimethyl)benzene that is surrounded by arenes of a suitable size, namely, either corannulene or coronene. A significant enthalpic gain associated with the formation of investigated tetramers was revealed. Furthermore, it is shown that the total stabilization of these complexes is dominated by binary interactions. Based on these findings, comments are made regarding the experimentally observed behavior of related multicomponent mixtures. 相似文献
