Positive solutions of a logistic equation on unbounded intervals

In this paper, we study the existence of positive solutions of a one-parameter family of logistic equations on or on . These equations are stationary versions of the Fisher equations and the KPP equations. We also study the blow-up region of a sequence of the solutions when the parameter approaches a critical value and the non-existence of positive solutions beyond the critical value. We use the direct method and the sub and super solution method.

     

The blow-up rates for systems of heat equations with nonlinear boundary conditions

This paper deals with the blow-up rate estimates of positive solutions for systems of heat equations with nonlinear boundary conditions. The upper and lower bounds of blow-up rate are obtained.

For an integer n3 and any positive number , we establish the existence of smooth functions K on ⁿ {0} with |K–1|, such that the equation has a smooth positive solution which blows up at the origin (i.e., u does not have slow decay near the origin). Furthermore, we show that in some situations K can be extended as a Lipschitz function on ⁿ . These provide counter-examples to a conjecture of C.-S. Lin when n>4, and a question of Taliaferro. Bilinear estimates and applications to 2d NLS

The three bilinearities for functions are sharply estimated in function spaces associated to the Schrödinger operator . These bilinear estimates imply local wellposedness results for Schrödinger equations with quadratic nonlinearity. Improved bounds on the growth of spatial Sobolev norms of finite energy global-in-time and blow-up solutions of the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (and certain generalizations) are also obtained.

     

Uniqueness and asymptotic behaviour for solutions of semilinear problems with boundary blow-up

In this paper we prove uniqueness of positive solutions to logistic singular problems , , 1$">, 0$"> in , where the main feature is the fact that . More importantly, we provide exact asymptotic estimates describing, in the form of a two-term expansion, the blow-up rate for the solutions near . This expansion involves both the distance function and the mean curvature of .

     

Some Notes on Reaction Diffusion Systems with Nonlinear Boundary Conditions

This paper deals with the existence and nonexistence of global positive solution to a semilinear reaction-diffusion system with nonlinear boundary conditions.For the heat diffusion case,the necessary and sufficient conditions on the global existence of all positive solutions are obtained.For the general fast diffusion case,we get some conditions on the global existence and nonexistence of positive solutions.The results of this paper fill the some gaps which were left in this field.     

Global existence and bounds for blow‐up time in a class of nonlinear pseudo‐parabolic equations with a memory term

In this article, we consider the initial boundary value problem for a class of nonlinear pseudo‐parabolic equations with a memory term: Under suitable assumptions, we obtain the local and global existence of the solution by Galerkin method. We prove finite‐time blow‐up of the solution for initial data at arbitrary energy level and obtain upper bounds for blow‐up time by using the concavity method. In addition, by means of differential inequality technique, we obtain a lower bound for blow‐up time of the solution if blow‐up occurs.
