Spin Hamiltonian parameters of a pentanuclear Os Ni cyanometallate complex are derived from ab initio wave function based calculations, namely valence-type configuration interaction calculations with a complete active space including spin-orbit interaction (CASOCI) in a single-step procedure. While fits of experimental data performed so far could reproduce the data but the resulting parameters were not satisfactory, the parameters derived in the present work reproduce experimental data and at the same time have a reasonable size. The one-centre parameters (local matrices and single-ion zero field splitting tensors) are within an expected range, the anisotropic exchange parameters obtained in this work for an Os−Ni pair are not exceedingly large but determine the low-T part of the experimental χT curve. Exchange interactions (both isotropic and anisotropic) obtained from CASOCI have to be scaled by a factor of 2.5 to obtain agreement with experiment, a known deficiency of such types of calculation. After scaling the parameters, the isotropic Os−Ni exchange coupling constant is cm−1 and the D parameter of the (nearly axial) anisotropic Os−Ni exchange is −1, so anisotropic exchange is larger in absolute size than isotropic exchange. The negative value of the isotropic J (indicating antiferromagnetic coupling) seemingly contradicts the large-temperature behaviour of the temperature dependent susceptibility curve, but this is caused by the negative g value of the Os centres. This negative g value is a universal feature of a pseudo-octahedral coordination with configuration and strong spin-orbit interaction. Knowing the size of these exchange interactions is important because Os(CN) is a versatile building block for the synthesis of / magnetic materials. 相似文献

The electronic structures of carbazole, N-phenylcarbazole (NPC), cyanophenylcarbazole (CPC) and N-ethylcarbazole (NEC) have been calculated using the quantum chemical semi-empirical MINDO/3 method. In this paper, electronic ground states and first singlet excited states of the systems mentioned were investigated. It is observed that the excitation energy of carbazole based on the calculated difference in heats of formation agrees quite well with experimental data obtained from supersonic expansion studies. Calculated energy levels of molecular orbitals and their graphical forms are used qualitatively in elucidating the S0 → S1 excitation electronic origin red shifts observed in carbazole derivatives with respect to the electronic origin of the parent carbazole. It is noted that the red shifts are not just a result of the destabilization of the HOMO of carbazole but are also determined by the nature of the substituting moieties. It is also observed that the LUMO of CPC is not derived from the parent carbazole which partially explains the difference in electronic behaviour as compared with the other derivatives. 相似文献

The mechanism of light-induced transformation in the salicylideneaniline molecule was studied by semiempirical PM3 calculations. The structures and energies of the minima and saddle points (transition states) on the S0, S1 and T1 potential energy hypersurfaces (PESs) were obtained, together with the gradient lines on the PESs. The structure-energy scheme was compared with the experimental findings. A practical methodology for the correlation and prediction of the process–property performance of advanced materials is developed. The model polymer studied is PMDA-ODA polyimide. The connecting link between the process and the properties is the structural state of the polymer. An essential ingredient for a quantitative characterization of the system is a knowledge of its phase state and intrinsic molecular properties. The intrinsic molecular properties define the limiting performance properties available to the polymer. Anisotropic films and sheets produced by five different fabrication processes are examined. Maps of the molecular symmetry axis, the orientation function, and the thickness distributions of two 50-in.-wide sheets fabricated differently are measured nondestructively for process comparison. Four other film fabrication processes are examined and their three-dimensional orientation states determined and correlated. A three-dimensional orientation function triangular plot permits simultaneous representation of the different fabrication processes on the same figure and allows the investigator to choose the most economic and efficient fabrication route. An automated NMR chemical shift assignment algorithm was developed using multi-objective optimization techniques. The problem is modeled as a combinatorial optimization problem and its objective parameters are defined separately in different score functions. Some of the heuristic approaches of evolutionary optimization are employed in this problem model. Both, a conventional genetic algorithm and multi-objective methods, i.e., the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithms II and III (NSGA2 and NSGA3), are applied to the problem. The multi-objective approaches consider each objective parameter separately, whereas the genetic algorithm followed a conventional way, where all objectives are combined in one score function. Several improvement steps and repetitions on these algorithms are performed and their combinations are also created as a hyper-heuristic approach to the problem. Additionally, a hill-climbing algorithm is also applied after the evolutionary algorithm steps. The algorithms are tested on several different datasets with a set of 11 commonly used spectra. The test results showed that our algorithm could assign both sidechain and backbone atoms fully automatically without any manual interactions. Our approaches could provide around a 65% success rate and could assign some of the atoms that could not be assigned by other methods. 相似文献

Similar to classical asphericity shifts, aspherical deformations of the electron density in the atomic core region can result in core asphericity shifts in refinements using a Hansen-Coppens multipolar model (HCM), especially when highly precise experimental datasets with resolutions far beyond sin(θ)/λ ≤ 1.0 Å−1 are employed. These shifts are about two orders of magnitude smaller than their counterparts caused by valence shell deformations, and their underlying deformations are mainly of dipolar character for 1st row atoms. Here, we analyze the resolution dependence of core asphericity shifts in α-boron. Based on theoretical structure factors, an appropriate Extended HCM (EHCM) is developed, which is tested against experimental high-resolution (sin(θ)/λ ≤ 1.6 Å−1) single-crystal diffraction data. Bond length deviations due to core asphericity shifts of α-boron in the order of 4–6·10−4 Å are small but significant at this resolution and can be effectively compensated by an EHCM, although the correlation of the additional model parameters with positional parameters prevented a free refinement of all core model parameters. For high quality, high resolution data, a proper treatment with an EHCM or other equivalent methods is therefore highly recommended. 相似文献

A chalcone series (3a–f) with electron push–pull effect was synthesized via a one-pot Claisen–Schmidt reaction with a simple purification step. The compounds exhibited strong emission, peaking around 512–567 nm with mega-stokes shift (∆λ = 93–139 nm) in polar solvents (DMSO, MeOH, and PBS) and showed good photo-stability. Therefore, 3a–f were applied in cellular imaging. After 3 h of incubation, green fluorescence was clearly brighter in cancer cells (HepG2) compared to normal cells (HEK-293), suggesting preferential accumulation in cancer cells. Moreover, all compounds exhibited higher cytotoxicity within 24 h toward cancer cells (IC50 values ranging from 45 to 100 μM) than normal cells (IC50 value >100 μM). Furthermore, the antimicrobial properties of chalcones 3a–f were investigated. Interestingly, 3a–f exhibited antibacterial activities against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, with minimum bactericidal concentrations (MBC) of 0.10–0.60 mg/mL (375–1000 µM), suggesting their potential antibacterial activity against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Thus, this series of chalcone-derived fluorescent dyes with facile synthesis shows great potential for the development of antibiotics and cancer cell staining agents. 相似文献
