Evaluation of isotope-coded protein labeling (ICPL) in the quantitative analysis of complex proteomes

An evaluation of the ICPL (isotope-coded protein labeling) non-isobaric labeling technique was performed using two different biological models. Two samples containing phage T4 capsids were mixed in a 1:1 ratio after being labeled with the light or heavy versions of the ICPL reagent. The analysis of this proteome demonstrated the feasibility of this approach for differential quantitative proteomics and was employed to optimize the experimental parameters of the ICPL workflow. ICPL-mediated analysis of two more complex proteomes, those of a Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium virulent strain and an isogenic attenuated mutant, and its comparison with the results obtained in a 2D-PAGE “classical” approach confirmed that ICPL is a valuable alternative to other labeling techniques currently in use. In addition, our results suggest that labeling at the peptide level instead of following the standard ICPL workflow should increase both the number of proteins quantified and the reliability of the quantification.     

Analytical Hartree–Fock wave functions for the atoms Cs to Lr

 Analytical approximations to Hartree–Fock wave functions are constructed using Slater-type functions for the ground states of all 49 neutral atoms from Cs (Z=55) to Lr (Z=103). The current compilation is more extensive and more accurate than previous ones. 提出了一种对碰撞过程进行瞬态数字测量的方法和仪器装置。它可以用来显示冲击力的时间过程，计算出碰撞过程的冲量从而可以在气轨实验中验证的动量定理。

Return to equilibrium in theXY model

We prove that the locally perturbedXY model returns to equilibrium under the unperturbed evolution but the unperturbed model does not necessarily approach equilibrium under the perturbed evolution. In fact this latter property is false for perturbation by a local magnetization. The failure is directly attributable to the formation of bound states. If the perturbation is quadratic these problems are reduced to spectral analysis of the one-particle Hamiltonian. We demonstrate that the perturbed Hamiltonian has a finite set of eigenvalues of finite multiplicity together with some absolutely continuous spectrum. Eigenvalues can occur in the continuum if, and only if, the perturbation dislocates the system. Singular continuous spectrum cannot occur.     

Isomers of astrophysical interest in neutron-deficient nuclei at masses A = 81, 85 and 86

Decay properties of neutron-deficient exotic nuclei close to A=80 have been investigated at the IGISOL facility. The studied nuclei, ⁸¹Y, ⁸¹Sr, ^81mKr, ⁸⁵Nb, ⁸⁵Zr, ⁸⁶Mo and ⁸⁶Nb, were produced by a ³²S beam from the Jyv?skyl? isochronous cyclotron on ⁵⁴Fe and ^natNi targets. The internal conversion coefficient for a 190.5 keV isomeric transition in ^81mKr has been measured and the internal transition rate has been determined. The internal transition rate has been used to estimate a neutrino capture rate on ⁸¹Br, which yields a log ft of 5.13±0.09 for the reaction ⁸¹Br( ν, e ^-)^81mKr. A new isomer with a half-life of 3.3±0.9 s has been observed in ⁸⁵Nb. The existence of an earlier reported isomer with a half-life of 56 s in ⁸⁶Nb has not been confirmed.     

Routes to chaos and mode-locking in interferometers with nematic film inserts

The influence of time-dependent periodic optical drive in the Fabry-Perot interferometer system has been investigated using a theoretical model equation. A variety of features such as different routes to chaos, multiperiodic oscillations, coexistence of multiple attractors and mode-locking with devil’s staircase are found to occur for a certain range of parametric values.
