Vessel Arrival Process and Queueing in Marine Ports Handling Bulk Materials

We study the vessel arrival process in bulk ports handling either cargo containers or minerals. Then we introduce the SHIP/G/1 queue to be able to study the queueing behavior at the port. We present approximations for the asymptotic probabilities of delay and the number of vessels at the port. Numerical examples show the accuracy of the approximations. In appendices, we provide details of the analysis of the number of vessels at the port and the correlation properties of the vessel arrival process.     

Analysis of a Multiserver Queue with Setup Times

This paper deals with the analysis of an M/M/c queueing system with setup times. This queueing model captures the major characteristics of phenomena occurring in production when the system consists in a set of machines monitored by a single operator. We carry out an extensive analysis of the system including limiting distribution of the system state, waiting time analysis, busy period and maximum queue length. Ge_x Si_(1-x)/Si超晶格中纵声学声子的喇曼散射强度研究

本文用光弹理论,在全面考虑了超晶格中两种材料的声速,质量密度和光弹常数存在差别的基础上,计算了Ge_xSi_(1-x)/Si超晶格中折迭纵声学声子的喇曼散射强度,在高达50cm~(-1)的频率范围内,理论值和实验符合得很好。     

Pd (II)‐catalyzed vinyl addition polymerization of novel functionalized norbornene bearing dimethyl carboxylate groups

Three novel functionalized polynorbornenes (PNB) with pendant dimethyl carboxylate group (carboxylates—acetate, propionate, and butyrate) are synthesized as a vinyl‐type with a palladium (II) catalyst in high yield. The effects of size of substitutents, molar ratio of monomer to catalyst, solvent polarity, reaction time, and temperature on the polymerization of exo‐norbornene dimethyl propionate were systematically investigated. The low molar ratio and temperature, as well as high polarity of solvent, and long reaction time, are favorable for the enhancement of the monomer conversion, especially, the solvent have an obvious effect on the catalyst activity. The resulting poly(cis‐norbornene‐exo‐2,3‐dimethyl carboxylates) (PNB‐dimethyl carboxylates) show good solubility in common organic solvent and high thermal stability up to 360 °C. The glass transition temperature was detected by DMA at 331, 324, and 318 °C for acetate, propionate, and butyrate, respectively. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 线性二次型最优控制的并行算法和软件

构造了线性二次型最优控制的并行算法，介绍了这个并行算法在武汉大学“ＷＵＤＰ９１”并行分布式处理系统上试算的数值应用软件的框图．本软件适用于既定动态系统的平衡问题．对于经济系统，可通过政策控制变量来调节和改善其状态和响应．对于自治系统可找出最优控制使得消耗函数达到最小值．通过对一系列例子进行试算，结果证实，所构造的并行算法和相应的数值软件是有效的，其加速比约为７．     

Measurement of small-signal and large-signal responses of packaged laser modules at high temperature

In this paper, the pulsed injection method is extended to measure the chip temperature of various packaged laser modules, such as the DFB laser modules, the FP laser modules, and the EML laser modules. An optimal injection condition is obtained by investigating the dependence of the lasing wavelength on the width and period of the injection pulse in a relatively wide temperature range. The small-signal frequency responses and large-signal performances of packaged laser modules at different chip temperature are measured. The adiabatic small-signal modulation characteristics of packaged LD are first extracted. In the large-signal measurement, the effects of chip temperature, bias current and driving signal on the performances of the laser modules are discussed. It has been found that the large-signal performances of the EML modules depend on the different red-shift speeds of the DFB and EAM sections as chip temperature varying, and the optimal characteristics may be achieved at higher temperature.     

多级轴流压气机全工况特性计算

本文使用三维粘性流动计算软件Fine／Numeca,对某十五级轴流压气机进行了内流流场和全工况特性的数值计算尝试。分析了该压气机在设计工况和非设计工况的性能,同时把整机计算结果和前七级叶片的计算结果进行了比较。计算结果表明,当计算的级数较少时,目前的软件和硬件平台可以比较合理地预测压气机的全工况特性;而当计算的级数较多时,准确的数值模拟仍需要更为准确的多级模型和数值方法。     

Synthesis of poly(p‐phenylene sulfide) from bis(4‐bromophenyl) disulfide

Improved reaction conditions for the preparation of poly(p‐phenylene sulfide) (PPS) directly from bis(4‐bromophenyl) disulfide (BBD) have been established. Heating BBD with magnesium metal afforded only a low molecular weight polymer. PPS with a melting temperature around 280 °C was obtained from BBD in the presence of sodium carbonate or zinc metal. The best results were obtained with the addition of a catalytic amount of KI to the zinc–BBD mixture. Polymers prepared by the above methods are semicrystalline and dissolve in 1‐chloronaphthalene and have properties comparable to commercial PPS. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Chemically modified proton‐conducting membranes based on sulfonated polyimides: Improved water stability and fuel‐cell performance

A series of branched/crosslinked sulfonated polyimide (B/C‐SPI) membranes were prepared and evaluated as proton‐conducting ionomers based on the new concept of in situ crosslinking from sulfonated polyimide (SPI) oligomers and triamine monomers. Chemical branching and crosslinking in SPI oligomers with 1,3,5‐tris(4‐aminophenoxy)benzene as a crosslinker gave the polymer membranes very good water stability and mechanical properties under an accelerated aging treatment in water at 130 °C, despite their high ion‐exchange capacity (2.2–2.6 mequiv g^?1). The resulting polymer electrolytes displayed high proton conductivities of 0.2–0.3 S cm^?1 at 120 °C in water and reasonably high conductivities of 0.02–0.03 S cm^?1 at 50% relative humidity. In a single H₂/O₂ fuel‐cell system at 90 °C, they exhibited high fuel‐cell performances comparable to those of Nafion 112. The B/C‐SPI membranes also displayed good performances in a direct methanol fuel cell with methanol concentrations as high as 50 wt % that were superior to those of Nafion 112. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
