This paper is concerned with investigation of the influence of pre-stress and pre-polarization on the decay of Saint-Venant end effects in piezoelectric solids. This issue is examined within the framework of incremental anti-plane shear states for prestressed and prepolarized solids. Attention is confined to a specific class of materials, namely those of hexagonal 6mm or 4mm symmetry. It is shown that the mechanical and electrical fields uncouple in this case, and the governing system of coupled second-order linear partial differential equations uncouple to a single homogeneous second-order equation with constant coefficients for the displacement and a Poisson equation for the electric potential. The exact decay rate for mechanical and electrical end effects is determined and the influence of pre-stress and pre-polarization is assessed. Motivation for this work arises from the current rapid developments in smart materials technology.  相似文献

Evidence for a stereoinduction profile of the reaction of N-methyl-1,3-diaminopropane with acyl chlorides has been provided. A possibility to engage in intramolecular CH2⋯HN and Cl⋯H-N interactions and the proton migration process to the methylamino group leads to the E secondary amides carrying the N⋯H+⋯N or N-H⋯N bridges, that show unusual spectroscopic images. Empirical relations between the Δδ C chemical shift differences, the polarizability of the CO(S) groups and hydrogen bonding strength have been found. Both 1H-15N-GHSQC and GHMBC experiments provide insight into the nature of hydrogen bonding and confirm the cyclic array of atoms.  相似文献

Summary. We give error estimates for the approximation of a laminated microstructure which minimizes the energy for a rotationally invariant, double well energy density . We present error estimates for the convergence of the deformation in the convergence of directional derivatives of the deformation in the “twin planes,” the weak convergence of the deformation gradient, the convergence of the microstructure (or Young measure) of the deformation gradients, and the convergence of nonlinear integrals of the deformation gradient. Summary. We consider a discontinuous Galerkin finite element method applied in time to a model Volterra equation of the second kind. A residual-based computable Galerkin-error estimate is derived for . This estimate does not explicitly contain the time step and therefore the time step control must be based on a heuristic criterion, the estimate can then be used to demonstrate the integrity, or otherwise, of the finite element solution. After performing some numerical experiments we conclude that this approach is at least competetive with classical discretizations since it is computationally simple to implement, but has the added advantage of reliable error feedback. In this paper cubature formulas based on bivariate C 1 local polynomial splines with a four directional mesh [4] are generated and studied. Some numerical results with comparison with other methods are given. Moreover the method proposed is applied to the numerical evaluation of 2‐D singular integrals defined in the Hadamard finite part sense. The main purpose of this paper is to give a procedure to “mollify” the low-pass filters of a large number ofMinimally Supported Frequency (MSF) wavelets so that the smoother functions obtained in this way are also low-pass filters for an MRA. Hence, we are able to approximate (in the L 2 -norm) MSF wavelets by wavelets with any desired degree of smoothness on the Fourier transform side. Although the MSF wavelets we consider are bandlimited, this may not be true for their smooth approximations. This phenomena is related to the invariant cycles under the transformation x ↦2x (mod2π). We also give a characterization of all low-pass filters for MSF wavelets. Throughout the paper new and interesting examples of wavelets are described.  相似文献
