Bragg型声光双稳系统的调制效应

从理论上分析了Bragg型声光双稳系统的线性稳定性及调制效应.由系统的动力学方程、稳态方程出发,给出了出现双稳态的参数范围,并计算出稳区与非稳区的边界.对输入光作简谐调制时,预言了稳区输出光的共振效应和共振峰的偏移以及非稳区的频率锁定等现象.     

Phase Modulation Microscope MIM-2.1 for Measurements of Surface Microrelief. Results of Measurements

The construction and technical characteristics of the phase interferometric microscope MIM-2.1 are described. With the help of this modulation interferometric microscope, a vertical resolution up to fractions of a nanometer and a lateral resolution up to tens of nanometers are achieved. The results of measurements obtained on samples of different types, such as a column, a step, a flute, and a fragment of a DVD disk, are presented.     

Mass measurement using an intensity-modulated optical fiber sensor

Design and operation of an opto-mechanical sensor for mass measurements is reported. This device uses a pair of optical fibers and a reflecting coated lens. The light intensity modulation is based on the relative motion of the lens due to a given mass with respect to the optical fibers. The modulated intensity because of the weighing mass has been measured by using a digital voltmeter. A full-range sensitivity of about 11.5 mV/g for a dynamic range of 80 g is obtained. A mass resolution of better than 0.25 g has been measured with this device. The measured output response is checked against the expected theoretical one and a general agreement observed. A comparison with similar experimental results shows some advantages of this method and potential use of such a sensor for medium mass measurements.     

Direct modulation and optical confinement factor modulation of semiconductor lasers

A method for modulation of semiconductor lasers is demonstrated. The method is based on the modulation of the optical confinement factor. Using this method an enhanced—3-dB bandwidth is observed in agreement with the small signal rate equation analysis. A modulation response that drops at high frequencies slower than the conventional direct current modulation response is achieved. This supports the theoretical predictions, showing an intrinsic 1/f decay rate for the optical confinement factor modulation scheme versus an intrinsic 1/f² decay for direct modulation.

本文提出微腔半导体激光器的两种新调制方法:自发发射寿命调制和光子寿命调制。小信号近似分析的数值模拟结果表明,这两种调制方法的调制带宽大于同参数下的电流调制的带宽。

Chaotic frictional vibrations excited by a quasiperiodic load

A Duffing oscillator frictionally interacting with a moving belt under a quasiperiodic load is studied. The multiple-scales method is used to derive a system of two nonautonomous equations with small parameters, which describes the modulation of vibrations. It is shown that the system of modulation equations has a heteroclinic structure.
