13C NMR spectra of azolopyridines and their quaternary salts

¹³ C NMR spectra of some azole series have been investigated: 2-pyridylbenzimidazoles, 2-pyridylimidazo [4,5-b]-pyridines, 2-pyridylimidazo[4,5-c]-pyridines, analogous oxazole compounds, as well as their mono- and bisquaternary salts. Some problems, related to the structure of these compounds in solution, have been discussed.V. I. Protonation and Alkylation of Cross-conjugated Ketones Containing a Terminal N-Methylpyrrole Ring

The protonation and alkylation of cross-conjugated ketones containing a terminal N-methylpyrrole ring takes place at the oxygen atom. Protonation is accompanied by a strong bathochromic shift of the absorption maximum in the electron spectrum, while alkylation leads to ethoxypolymethine salts. The possibility of using these salts for the synthesis of ethoxycyanine dyes was studied.     

Dihydroboronium derivatives of (S,S)-1,2-bis(t-butylmethylphosphino)ethane as convenient chiral ligand precursors

Dihydroboronium derivatives of (S,S)-1,2-bis(t-butylmethylphosphino)ethane (t-Bu-BisP*) were prepared and used as chiral diphosphine ligand precursors in Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of methyl (Z)-acetamidocinnamate to afford the hydrogenation product in up to 94% enantioselectivity.     

Structural properties of charged diblock copolymer solutions

Aqueous micellar solutions of ionic/neutral block copolymers have been studied by light scattering, small angle neutron scattering and small angle X-ray scattering. We made use of a polymer comprised of a short hydrophobic block (polyethylene-propylene) PEP and of a long polyelectrolytic block (polystyrene-sulfonate) PSSNa which has been shown previously to micellize in water. The apparent polydispersity of these micelles is studied in detail, showing the existence of a few large aggregates coexisting with the population of micelles. Solutions of micelles are found to order above some threshold in polymer concentration. The order is liquid-like, as demonstrated by the evolution with concentration of the peak observed in the structure factor (), and the degree of order is found to be identical over a large range of concentrations (up to 20 wt%). Consistent values of the aggregation number of the micelles are found by independent methods. The effect of salt addition on the order is found to be weak. Fast atom bombardment mass spectra of a series of arenediazonium salts with various substituents complexed with 18-crown-6 and dibenzo-24-crown-8 ethers were examined. The correlation between quasi-molecular ion abundance of various complexes and the properties, coordination ability of donor-acceptor linkages in the complexes were studied. By using molecular orbital calculation we have successfully demonstrated that the correlation cited is related to the electron cloud densities on the heteroatoms α-N and β-N of arenediazonium salts.     

Electrochemically induced formation of organomercury compounds

Conductance in homomorphous solvents: Tetrabutylammonium salts and alkali picrates in butyrolactone-sulfolane mixtures

Conductance measurements are reported for LiPi, NaPi, KPi, RbPi, CsPi, Bu₄NPi, Bu₄NBr, Bu₄NClO₄, Bu₄NNO₃, and Bu₄NBBu₄ at 25°C in -butyrolactone-sulfolane mixtures. In these mixtures of solvents that are practically homomorphous, isodielectic and with comparable dipole moments, the ion pair association and ionic mobilities of large ions conform to the expectations of the primitive model. Electrolytes containing lithium or sodium ions show anomalies indicating that other factors besides shape, dipole moment, and polarizability of the solvent molecules are involved in the association and transport processes of these ions.     

Synthesis and properties of novel dialkylaminocarbenium salts

Novel dialkylaminocarbenium salts with metallocomplex counter ions were prepared by the reaction of phosgene with either DMF or tetramethylurea in the presence of metal chlorides. Reactions of organosilicon amides with phosgene gave corresponding carbenium salts, while organosilicon ureas yielded aminoiminocarbenium salts. Dialkylaminochlorocarbenium salts were reduced with hydrosilanes to give dialkylaminocarbenium, salts and can be easily hydrolyzed to afford either amides or ureas. Pathways of the reaction with water and alcohols depend on the nature of reagent and the reaction conditions. Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. 通过电导测量研究了四种钕盐：Nd(CF3SO3)3、Nd(ClO4)3、Nd(NO3)3和NdCl3在极性非质子溶剂DMF中的电导性质.利用线性拟合方法求得在25 ℃下Nd(CF3SO3)3和Nd(ClO4)3的极限摩尔电导率分别为278.8和 280.7 S•cm2•mol－1.用间接方法求得Nd(NO3)3 与NdCl3 的极限摩尔电导率分别为297.2和287.3 S•cm2 •mol－1.在25～65 ℃温度范围内，Nd(CF3SO3)3和Nd(ClO4)3的电导率随温度呈线性变化. Nd(NO3)3和NdCl3的电导行为表现出明显的离子缔合.     

Nitropyrazoles

The double Vilsmeier formylation of theC-methyl group in pyrazole derivatives has been shown to occur when a nitro-group is in the adjacent position of the ring.
