Photo-Induced Ultrafast Electron Dynamics in Anatase and Rutile TiO2: Effects of Electron-Phonon Interaction

The photo-induced ultrafast electron dynamics in both anatase and rutile TiO\begin{document}$_{2}$\end{document} are investigated by using the Boltzmann transport equation with the explicit incorporation of electron-phonon scattering rates. All structural parameters required for dynamic simulations are obtained from ab initio calculations. The results show that although the longitudinal optical modes significantly affect the electron energy relaxation dynamics in both phases due to strong Fr?hlich-type couplings, the detailed relaxation mechanisms have obvious differences. In the case of a single band, the energy relaxation time in anatase is 24.0 fs, twice longer than 11.8 fs in rutile. This discrepancy is explained by the different diffusion distributions over the electronic Bloch states and different scattering contributions from acoustic modes in the two phases. As for the multiple-band situation involving the lowest six conduction bands, the predicted overall relaxation times are about 47 fs and 57 fs in anatase and rutile, respectively, very different from the case of the single band. The slower relaxation in rutile is attributed to the existence of multiple rate-controlled steps during the dynamic process. Wet granulation process is a major unit operation in production of pharmaceuticals as solid dosage oral formulation. Indeed, granulation is used to improve the formulation properties such as flowability, compressibility, and so on for pharmaceutical manufacturing. Different types of granulations can be used in pharmaceutical manufacturing in which the selection of proper process depends on the operational conditions as well as formulation properties. In current decades, twin-screw wet granulation has been of paramount interest owing to its superior properties. Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry are trying to move towards continuous mode by which the efficiency can be improved compared to the batch mode. Therefore, development of continuous granulation process is of great importance. In this review article, various processing units applicable for wet granulation of pharmaceutical formulations for solid dosage forms are reviewed and discussed. The advantages and disadvantages of the processes are discussed and listed along with modeling approaches for simulation of process. The governing models and numerical schemes applicable for design of wet granulation are also critically discussed. The traditional aqueous route to synthesis CdTe/CdS Core/shell (c/s) quantum dots (QDs) via decomposition of Cd-thiol complexes is usually time consuming. Herein, an ultrafast and facile aqueous synthetic approach under atmospheric pressure for CdTe/CdS c/s QDs with emission from the green to the near-infrared window (535–820 nm) is reported. With purified CdTe core QDs diluted in solution of Cd-3-mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) complexes, CdTe/CdS c/s QDs with emission wavelengths at 700 and 800 nm can be obtained within 20- and 45-min refluxing under the optimized experimental conditions, respectively. This is the most rapid way to prepare CdTe/CdS c/s QDs in aqueous phase, and the obtained QDs were highly luminescent without postsynthesis treatment. The influences of various experimental factors, including Cd2+ concentration, MPA-to-Cd ratio, pH value, and dilution ratio on the growth rate and luminescent properties of the obtained CdTe/CdS c/s QDs, have been taken into consideration. The three processes “purification-dilution-addition” ensure the synthesis environment with high pH value and low core concentration and have a marked impact on the rapid synthesis rate and the resulting high fluorescence of CdTe/CdS c/s QDs. 相似文献
