Inverse complementarity in a resource deficit model

The concept of inverse complementarity for a parametric family of optimization problems is introduced. This concept is an effective tool for solving complicated applied problems arising in socioeconomic systems. As an example, a nonlinear resource deficit model is constructed in which the equilibrium is characterized by an external market value of resources coinciding with internal objectively determined resource estimates. An extraproximal method is proposed for computing an equilibrium solution. The convergence of the method is proved. Original Russian Text. A.V. On the numerical solution of the linear complementarity problem

The well-known linear complementarity problem with definite matrices is considered. It is proposed to solve it using a global optimization algorithm in which one of the basic stages is a special local search. The proposed global search algorithm is tested using a variety of randomly generated problems; a detailed analysis of the computational experiment is given.     

Multipeak solutions to the Bahri-Coron problem in domains with a shrinking hole

We construct positive and sign changing multipeak solutions to the pure critical exponent problem in a bounded domain with a shrinking hole, having a peak which concentrates at some point inside the shrinking hole (i.e. outside the domain) and one or more peaks which concentrate at interior points of the domain. These are, to our knowledge, the first multipeak solutions in a domain with a single small hole.     

An algorithm for ordinal sorting based on ELECTRE with categories defined by examples

This work proposes a Progressive Assisted Sorting Algorithm (PASA) based on a multicriteria evaluation ELECTRE-type method. The purpose of the PASA is to aid a decision maker to progressively sort a set of alternatives into a set of categories, which we considered are ordered (ordinal sorting), following a consistency principle. We consider the principle that if an alternative outranks (is as good as) a second one, then it must belong to the same category or to a better category. The set of alternatives already sorted by the decision maker will implicitly define the categories, and will constrain the range of categories where other alternatives may be sorted. We show how the same idea may be used in an aggregation/disaggregation approach, considering some parameters of ELECTRE are not fixed a priori, but are constrained only by the examples provided. In this context, we establish a “convex-shape property” stating that the range of possible categories for an alternative is always an interval of categories. A discussion contrasting this approach with ELECTRE TRI is included in the conclusions.

Critical duality

We look for a general framework in which the Ekeland duality can be formulated. We propose a scheme in which the parameter sets are provided with a coupling function which induces a conjugacy. The decision spaces are not supposed to have any special structure. We examine several examples. In particular, we consider some special classes of generalized convex functions.     

Systems of equilibrium problems with applications to new variants of Ekeland’s variational principle,fixed point theorems and parametric optimization problems

In this paper, we first establish some existence theorems of systems of generalized vector equilibrium problems. From these results, we obtain new variants of Ekeland’s variational principle in a Hausdorff t.v.s., a minimax theorem and minimization theorems. Some applications to the existence theorem of systems of semi-infinite problem, a variant of flower petal theorem and a generalization of Schauder’s fixed point theorem are also given.

On Some Feasibility Conditions in MPEC

This article discusses feasibility conditions in mathematical programs with equilibrium constraints （MPECs）. The authors prove that two sufficient conditions guarantee the feasibility of these MPECs. The authors show that the two feasibility conditions are different from the feasibility condition in [2, 3], and show that the sufficient condition in [3] is stronger than that in [2].
