The one-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes-Vlasov-Fokker-Planck system with density-dependent viscosity and drag force coefficients isinvestigated in the present paper. The existence, uniqueness, and regularityof global weak solution to the initial value problem for general initial data areestablished in spatial periodic domain. Moreover, the long time behavior ofthe weak solution is analyzed. It is shown that as the time grows, the distribution function of the particles converges to the global Maxwellian, and boththe fluid velocity and the macroscopic velocity of the particles converge to thesame speed. 相似文献

The electron-phonon interaction in the periodic Anderson model (PAM) is considered. The PAM incorporates the effect of onsite
Coulomb interaction (U) between f-electrons. The influence of Coulomb correlation U on the phonon response of the system is studied by evaluating the phonon spectral function for various parameters of the
model. The numerical evaluation of the spectral function is carried out in the long wavelength limit at finite temperatures
keeping only linear terms in U. The observed behaviour is found to agree well with the general features obtained experimentally for some heavy fermion (HF)

This paper proposes a novel method for generating continuum spectra with possible applications in WDM access networks. This new method would allow the development of a simple continuum laser structure with better performances in terms of cost and simplicity than those of present supercontinuum sources. In this aim, we will analyze the possibility to broaden the resonant modes of a Fabry–Perot cavity by operating only on the design of one of the cavity's Bragg mirrors. Firstly we considered the conditions which a Bragg grating must satisfy in order to broaden the resonant modes of a resonant cavity. Because an exact solution is not physical possible, the genetic algorithm is the best available tool for the design of such a grating. An active medium is then added inside the cavity and its behavior below threshold is simulated. The spectra thus simulated are continuum over 5–15 nm. 相似文献

In this paper, we unify advection and diffusion into a single hyperbolic system by extending the first-order system approach introduced for the diffusion equation [J. Comput. Phys., 227 (2007) 315–352] to the advection–diffusion equation. Specifically, we construct a unified hyperbolic advection–diffusion system by expressing the diffusion term as a first-order hyperbolic system and simply adding the advection term to it. Naturally then, we develop upwind schemes for this entire system; there is thus no need to develop two different schemes, i.e., advection and diffusion schemes. We show that numerical schemes constructed in this way can be automatically uniformly accurate, allow O(h) time step, and compute the solution gradients (viscous stresses/heat fluxes for the Navier–Stokes equations) simultaneously to the same order of accuracy as the main variable, for all Reynolds numbers. We present numerical results for boundary-layer type problems on non-uniform grids in one dimension and irregular triangular grids in two dimensions to demonstrate various remarkable advantages of the proposed approach. In particular, we show that the schemes solving the first-order advection–diffusion system give a tremendous speed-up in CPU time over traditional scalar schemes despite the additional cost of carrying extra variables and solving equations for them. for truncating the scalar wave-equation finite difference time domain (WE-FDTD) grids. The formulations are based on incorporating
the alternating direction implicit (ADI) scheme into the CE FDTD implementations of the scalar wave-equation derived in the
PML region at the domain boundaries. Numerical example carried out in two dimensional domain shows that the proposed formulations
are more accurate than the classical ADI scalar wave equation PML formulations when it is used for modelling band limited

We study a one-dimensional spin (interacting particle) system, with product Bernoulli (p) stationary distribution, in which a site can flip only when its left neighbor is in state +1. Such models have been studied in physics as simple exemplars of systems exhibiting slow relaxation. In our East model the natural conjecture is that the relaxation time (p), that is 1/(spectral gap), satisfies log (p)
as p0. We prove this up to a factor of 2. The upper bound uses the Poincaré comparison argument applied to a wave (long-range) comparison process, which we analyze by probabilistic techniques. Such comparison arguments go back to Holley (1984, 1985). The lower bound, which atypically is not easy, involves construction and analysis of a certain coalescing random jumps process. 相似文献

We found that the interaction of paramagnetic centers that have different relaxation times differs fundamentally from the
interaction of centers having close relaxation times. Simulation showed that in this case there is an anomalous redistribution
of the spectral-line intensity from the center to the wings with a virtually preserved distance between extremal points (super-Lorentzian
shape of the line), which leads to underestimation of the total intensity recorded. The results obtained make it possible
to explain a number of aspects of the radiospectroscopy of carbon materials of practical importance such as the nature of
the generally accepted maximum on the curve for the dependence of the total intensity of an EPR signal on the temperature
of the heat treatment of organic compounds and the degree of metamorphism of natural coals, the specific features of the effect
of oxygen molecules and paramagnetic ions of metals on the EPR spectra of carbon materials, etc.

The time development of the reduced density matrix for a quantum oscillator damped by coupling it to an ohmic environment
is calculated via an identity of the Debye-Waller form. Results obtained some years ago by Hakim and the author in the free-particle
limit(10) are thus recovered. The evolution of a free particle in a prepared initial state is examined, and a previously published
exchange(5,9) is illuminated with figures showing no decoherence without dissipation.
