The paper deals with the study of the thermotropic liquid crystalline properties of a new azomethinic symmetric dimer and some of its structural heterogeneous mixtures with one of its reagents. Their thermotropic behaviour was monitored by polarised light microscopy, differential scanning microscopy and variable temperature X-ray diffraction measurements. The influence of the structural heterogeneity on the mesomorphic behaviour was established and some similarities with the mesomorphic behaviour of the polydisperse polymers were underlined. 相似文献

The ionic liquid 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium hydrogensulfate, [bmim]HSO4, turned out to be resistant even to strong oxidizers like SO3. Thus, it should be a suitable solvent for the preparation of polysulfates at low temperatures. As a proof of principle we here present the synthesis and crystal structure of K2(S2O7)(H2SO4), which has been obtained from the reaction of K2SO4 and SO3 in [bmim]HSO4. In the crystal structure of K2(S2O7)(H2SO4) (orthorhombic, Pbca, Z = 8, a = 810.64(2) pm, b = 1047.90(2) pm, c = 2328.86(6) pm, V = 1978.30(8) Å3) two crystallographically unique potassium cations are coordinated by a different number of monodentate and bidentate‐chelating disulfate anions as well as by sulfuric acid molecules. The crystal structure consists of alternating layers of [K2(S2O7)] slabs and H2SO4 molecules. Hydrogen bonds between hydrogen atoms of sulfuric acid molecules and oxygen atoms of the neighboring disulfate anions are observed. 相似文献

Tryptophan is an essential amino acid, and understanding the conformational preferences of monomer and dimer is a subject of outstanding relevance in biological systems. An exhaustive first principles investigation of tryptophan ( W ) and its ionized counterparts cations (WC) , anions (WA) , and zwitterions (WZ) has been carried out. A comprehensive and systematic study of tryptophan dimer (WD) conformations resulted in about 62 distinct minima on the potential energy surface. The hydrogen bonds and a variety of noncovalent interactions such as OH‐π, NH‐π, CH‐π, CH‐O, and π‐π interactions stabilized different forms of tryptophan and its dimers. Over all in monomeric conformers which have NH‐O, hydrogen bonds showed higher stability than other conformers. A cursory analysis reveal that the most stable dimers stabilized by hydrogen bonding interactions while the less stable dimers showed aromatic side chain interactions. Protein Data Bank analysis of tryptophan dimers reveals that at a larger distance greater than 5 Å, T‐shaped orientations (CH‐π interactions) are more prevalent, while stacked orientations (π‐π interactions) are predominant at a smaller distance. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 相似文献

Low-efficiency charge separation in metal sulfides is a major obstacle to realizing high photocatalytic performance. Herein, we propose the concept of a similar surface domain potential difference between adjacent microdomains with and without surface S vacancies on ZnIn2S4 to mediate charge separation. Defective ZnIn2S4 microspheres (DZISNPs) are prepared through a solvothermal method combined with a low-temperature hydrogenation surface engineering strategy. The as-prepared DZISNPs with a narrowed bandgap of 2.38 eV possess a large specific surface area of 178.5 m2 g?1, a pore size of 6.89 nm, and a pore volume of 0.36 cm3 g?1, which further improves the visible light absorption. The resultant DZISNPs exhibit excellent visible light activity (2.15 mmol h?1 g?1), which is ~two-fold higher than that of the original DZISNP. The experimental results and DFT calculations reveal that the enhanced property can be a result of the surface S vacancy-induced surface domain potential difference, promoting the spatial separation of electrons and holes. Furthermore, the long-term stability of the DZISNPs indicates that the formation of surface S vacancies can inhibit the photocorrosion of ZnIn2S4. This strategy provides new insights for fabricating highly efficient and stable sulfide photocatalysts. 相似文献

Antimicrobial bioassay-guided fractionation of the endophytic fungi Neofusicoccum australe led to the isolation of a new unsymmetrical naphthoquinone dimer, neofusnaphthoquinone B (1), along with four known natural products (2–5). Since the sulfur(VI) fluoride exchange reaction (SuFEx) was introduced by Sharpless and co-workers in 2014, this new-generation click chemistry has emerged as an efficient and reliable tool for creating modular intermolecular connections. Sulfonyl fluorides, one of the most important sulfur(VI) fluoride species, have attracted enormous attention in diverse fields, ranging from organic synthesis and material science, to chemical biology and drug discovery. This review aims to introduce seminal and recent progresses on the synthetic methods of sulfonyl fluorides, which include aromatic, aliphatic, alkenyl, and alkynyl sulfonyl fluorides. Methyltin mercaptide is widely used as one of the best heat stabilizer in the polyvinylchloride (PVC) thermal processing due to its excellent stability, good transparency, high compatibility and weather resistance. The content of sulfur and tin significantly affects its quality and performance, so it is of great significance to develop an analytical method for the simultaneous determination of sulfur and tin. Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) has been a powerful analytical tool for a myriad of complex samples owing to its advantages of the low detection limits, rapid and precise determinations over wide dynamic ranges, freedom from chemical inter-element interferences, the high sample throughput and above all, simultaneous multi-elements analysis. Microwave technique as a well-developed method for sample preparation can dramatically reduce the digestion time and the loss of volatile elements compared with the traditional open digestion. Hereby, a microwave-assisted acid digestion (MW-AAD) procedure followed by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) analysis was developed for the simultaneous determination of Sn and S in methyltin mercaptide. This method has the advantages of simplicity, rapidness, good accuracy, green and less use of samples. Parameters affecting the MW-AAD such as the digestion solution and digestion time were optimized by using a chemical analyzed reference sample (DX-181) to attain tin and sulfur quantitative recoveries. HNO3-HCl-HClO4(v/v/v=9 : 3 : 1) and 10 min were the optimum digestion solution and digestion time, respectively. Under optimum conditions, the standard addition method and the standard calibration curve method were both been used to detect Sn and S in DX-181. There was no significant difference between two methods and the relative deviations to the chemical analysis values were both less than 2%. Additionally, the accuracy of the MW-AAD method was examined by analyzing three methyltin mercaptide samples (DX-181, DX-990, DX-960). Unfilled natural rubber compounds composed of conventional (CV), semi-efficient (SEV), efficient (EV) and sulfur donor (SD) vulcanization systems were heat aged to promote sulfur reversion. Rheometry, hardness, strain-strain characteristics including Mooney-Rivlin analysis, equilibrium solvent swell and Double Quantum (DQ) Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) were used to monitor crosslink density changes. A loss of crosslink density was observed by rheometry, C1, equilibrium swelling and by DQ NMR as a function of cure extent. No chain scission reactions were operating in the time/temperature conditions used. All crosslink distributions were unimodal and the network homogeneity followed the order of EV > SD > SEV > CV. The crosslink distribution narrowed during the curing process for the CV and SEV systems. Non-oxidative maturation reactions were advantageous in promoting a more random distribution of crosslinks in the polymer matrix. 相似文献

The hydrolysis of sulfonylamine (HNSO2) results in the formation of sulfuric acid along with ammonia, and is of significant interest due to their negative impact on environment and life on Earth. The formation of H2SO4 through the reaction of HNSO2 with (H2O)2-4 has been studied using high level electronic structure calculations. This hydrolysis reaction is a step-wise process, in the first step a H-atom from H2O is transferred to the N-atom of HNSO2 which results in the formation of NH2, and in the next step, H2SO4, NH3 and water molecule(s) are formed. The results show that the energy barrier associated with the formation of intermediates and product complexes is reduced by 7 to 10 kcal/mol when the number of water molecules is increased from 2 to 4. The rate constant was calculated using canonical variational transition state theory with small curvature tunneling correction over the temperature range of 200 to 1000 K. At 298 K, the calculated rate constant for the formation of intermediate in the first step is 2.24 × 10−16, 1.03 × 10−12, and 2.10 × 10−11 cm3 mol−1 s−1, respectively, for the reaction with water dimer, trimer and tetramer. The calculated enthalpy and free energy show that the reaction corresponding to the formation of H2SO4 is highly exothermic and exoergic in nature. 相似文献

Material designs that use donor and acceptor units are often found in organic optoelectronic devices. Molecular level insight into the interactions between donors and acceptors are crucial for understanding how such interactions can modify the optical properties of the organic optoelectronic materials. In this paper, tris(4-(tert-butyl)phenyl)amine (pTPA) was synthesized as a donor in order to compare with unmodified triphenylamine (TPA) in a donor–acceptor system by having 2,4,6-triphenyl-1,3,5-triazine (TRZ) as an acceptor. Dimerization of donors and acceptors occurred in solvent when the concentration of solute is high. At 0 K, using a polarizable continuum model, the nitrogen atom of TPA is found to stack on top of the center of triazine of TRZ, whereas such alignment is offset in pTPA and TRZ. We attributed such alignment in TPA-TRZ as the result of attractive interactions between partial localization of 2pz electrons at the nitrogen atom of TPA and the π deficiency of triazine in TPA-TRZ. By taking into account random motions of the solvent effect at 300 K in quantum molecular dynamics and classical molecular dynamics simulations to interpret the marked difference in emission spectra between TPA-TRZ and pTPA-TRZ, it was revealed that the attractive interaction between pTPA and TRZ in toluene is weaker than TPA and TRZ. Because of the weaker attractive interaction between pTPA and TRZ in toluene, the dimers adopted numerous ground state conformations resulting in broad emission bands superimposed with multiple small Gaussian peaks. This is in contrast to TPA-TRZ which has only one dominant dimer conformation. This study demonstrates that the strength of intermolecular interactions between donors and acceptors should be taken into consideration in designing supramolecular structures. 相似文献
