Simulation of refractive index profiles for titanium indiffused lithium niobate channel waveguides

A generally applicable method to simulate the two-dimensional profiles of Ti-concentration and refractive index of Ti:LiNbO₃, waveguides is presented. The influence of the fabricational parameters on the refractive index profiles has been studied in detail. The model parameters are extracted from the available experimental data. The computed values of surface refractive index change agree closely with the experimental results. The model is also extended for coupled waveguides.     

Rigorous solutions for nonlinear TE waves guided by a waveguide that has a buried secant hyperbolic profile in the film

Dispersion relations for nonlinear TE waves guided by a waveguide that has a buried secant hyperbolic profile in the film with a self-focusing nonlinear cover medium have been obtained rigorously. It is shown that for the same diffusion depth, the local maximum power flow for TE₀, and TE₁ modes increases as the buying depth is increased.     

波前扰动产生空间暗光孤子及孤子演化的实验研究

报道实验上观测到用波前扰动的空间光暗孤子的产生及演化规律，实验测量表明，首先，产生的空间暗孤子的空间轮廓是双曲正割型的函数，这与逆散射理论上的空间暗孤子解是一致的其次，观测了空间暗光孤子在自散焦介质中的演化过程，实验结果与非线性薛定谔方程计算机数值模拟的结果是一致的，结果表明，空间暗光子随着光束传输过程逐渐演化并在演化过程中逐渐形成了多个孤子对；最后，测量了不同细丝宽度，非线性系数与光强子空间暗孤     

Network analyses for transmission characteristics of several kinds of curve-shaped groove waveguides

In this paper, the several kinds of the novel curve-shaped groove guides including the whole elliptic-, whole cosine- and hyperbolic-groove guides as the new millimeter wave transmission lines are presented. The dispersion, cut-off and band characteristics of the dominant mode for the several kinds of the curve-shaped groove guides are analysed by using the equivalent network method with transverse resonance. The obtained results have important values in their theoretical studies and actual applications of the curve-shaped groove waveguides.     

梯形截面多量子阱脊形波导模式特性

本文根据多量子阱双折射率的性质,运用有效折射率法和WKB法对具有梯形截面多量子阱脊形波导的模式特性作了分析,导出了E_mn^x模和E_mn^y模的本征值方程.     

K-Na离子交换单模平面波导的制备及其表征

通过K-Na离子交换技术制备了多模玻璃平面波导.采用棱镜耦合技术测量了波导的有效折射率,用IWKB方法拟合得到K-Na离子交换波导的折射率分布符合高斯分布,由色散曲线得到单模波导的制备条件(即扩散深度范围),从而得出单模波导的离子交换时间范围,制备出单模波导,并通过求解WKB色散方程得出单模波导的表面折射率.用普通数码相机,通过对离子交换平面玻璃光波导传输线进行数字成像,根据传输线上的光强分布拟合出光强传输衰减曲线,计算出单模波导的传输损耗大约为0.4 dB/cm.     

低阈值极化电压玻璃光波导电光效应的研究

采用热极化技术对掺锗玻璃条形光波导进行极化,通过光纤连接 (单模) 的Mach Zehnder Interferometer 系统测量条形波导内诱导出的电光效应,系统地研究了大气环境下极化条件(极化温度、极化时间、极化电压)对电光效应的影响.结果表明:在最佳极化条件下(406℃、-2.4 kV、20 min),波导内的电光系数为r_TM=0.059±0.001 pm/V, r_TE=0.053±0.001 pm/V,且波导结构中存在一个较低的阈值极化电压(100 V)和阈值极化温度(80℃),此时在波导样品内仍能被激发出可观察的电光效应;实验还发现采用负极化诱导方式产生的电光系数较正极化提高15%左右.     

Low loss smart hollow waveguides with new polymer coating material

A new kind of cyclic olefin polymer COP-E48R has been selected as the dielectric material for a silver hollow glass tube. Owing to its lower extinction coefficient at the wavelength of 10.6 μm, transmission losses for the CO₂ laser light has been reduced significantly in the COP-E48R-coated silver (COP-E48R/Ag) hollow glass waveguide. By properly selecting the film thickness of COP, Er:YAG and CO₂ laser light are shown to be transmitted with low loss simultaneously or independently. Delivery properties of red and green pilot beams were also evaluated.     

弱导多层平面光波导辐射模的自由空间模近似

本文用自由空间模简化及近似表示弱导多层介质光波导的辐射模.只要辐射方向与介质界面的角度不是很小,近似程度很好.将其应用于求解光栅耦合器的辐射损耗问题,使计算公式简化,用自由空间模计算的结果与用辐射模计算的结果比较接近,也与其它近似方法进行了比较.     

基于slot波导的硅基长波红外偏振无关定向耦合器分析

硅基长波红外集成光电子器件是集成光学发展的一个新兴领域.阐述了利用等比例放大原理设计该波段下的slot波导的思路,分析了波导的限制因子、偏振特性等性质,并提出了工作波长为10.6 μm的偏振无关slot波导定向耦合器.
