The copolymerization of styrene (St) with maleic anhydride (MAh) performed at 22 °C in the presence of dibenzyl trithiocarbonate exhibits controlled nature evidenced by: narrow molecular weight distribution, controlled molecular weight and first-order polymerization kinetics. The composition analysis of the copolymers obtained by 13C NMR spectra shows the molar fraction of St in obtained copolymers is almost equal to 0.5 throughout the copolymerization. The sequence structure of the copolymer was obtained from DEPT experiments by recording the spectra at π/4 and 3π/4, and then combining them together, the results showed that the copolymers obtained possessed well-defined alternating structure. The experiment shows that charge-transfer-complex formed from St and MAh participates in both initiation and chain growth throughout the copolymerization. 相似文献

Metathesis of 2-vinyl aromatic heterocycles such as furan, thiophene, pyrrole and pyridine in the presence of a molybdenum-based Schrock catalyst has been investigated from a synthetic point of view. The self-metathesis of 2-vinyl aromatic heterocycles was not successful. However, in cross-metathesis of thiophene, furan and styrene with 1-octene, the cross-metathesis product, heterodimer, was readily obtained selectively, together with only small amounts of the two corresponding self-metathesis products. The origin of the surprisingly high selectivity of heterodimer formation was elucidated through metallacyclobutane intermediate mechanism, observations of carbenes by in situ 1H NMR, and reaction products. 相似文献

Summary Prerequisite of quantitative evaluation in chromatography is equivalence of sample composition and detector signal. This includes
complete retention and proper elution of all sample constituents. In polymer HPLC, complete retention requires a poor starting
eluent, a sufficiently active column, and a low ratio of injection volume to column volume. On small pore columns, insufficient
retention caused the polymer to elute either in the interstitial volume (sample exclusion), together with the sample solvent,
or immediately after the solvent plug.Stat-copoly(styrene/ethyl methacrylate) samples are more difficultly retained thanstat-copoly(styrene/acrylonitrile) specimes. With the former copolymer it could be shown that incomplete retention did not cause
sample demixing. In order to gain complete retention, non-exclusion HPLC of polymers should be performed with columns whose
solvent volume is at least 50 times as large as the injection volume. This consequence is of practical importance in chromatographic
