This paper presents a study of the flow and heat transfer of an incompressible homogeneous second grade fluid past a stretching sheet. The governing partial differential equations are converted into ordinary differential equations by a similarity transformation. The effects of viscous dissipation and work due to deformation are considered in the energy equation and the variations of dimensionless surface temperature and dimensionless surface temperature gradient with various parameters are graphed and tabulated. Two cases are studied, namely, (i) the sheet with constant surface temperature (CST case) and (ii) the sheet with prescribed surface temperature (PST case).  相似文献

The numerical path integration method, based on Gauss-Legendre integration scheme, is applied to a Duffing oscillator subject to both sinusoidal and white noise excitations. The response of the system is a Markov process with one of the drift coefficients being periodic. It is a non-homogeneous Markov process that does not have a stationary probability distribution. When applying the numerical procedure, the values of transition probability density at the Gaussian-Legendre quadrature points need only be calculated for time steps of the first period of the sinusoidal excitation, and they can be saved for use in all subsequent periods. The numerical procedure is capable of capturing the evolution of the probability density from an initial distribution to one that is changing and rotating periodically in the phase space.  相似文献

岩石破裂过程研究一直是岩石力学专家关注的重要问题。本文采用特制的三轴压力仪与医用西门子SOMATOM -plusCT扫描仪结合 ,对砂岩进行了室内单轴压缩试验。通过对砂岩的CT图像和密度损伤增量与应力关系曲线分析 ,结果显示 ,砂岩的破裂演化过程可分为初始损伤的压密、裂纹出现—扩展、裂纹归并—分岔、裂纹重分岔—扩展以及裂纹惯通—宏观破坏等五个阶段。在初始损伤的压密阶段 ,砂岩的密度损伤增量为正值 ,速率也为正 ;在裂纹出现—扩展阶段 ,砂岩出现局部密度损伤增量减小 ,并随应力增加而由正值转为负值 ,速率也由正变负 ;在裂纹归并—分岔阶段 ,砂岩的密度损伤增量全为负值 ,速率也变快 ;在裂纹重分岔—扩展阶段 ,砂岩的密度损伤增量继续变负 ,但速率变慢 ;在裂纹惯通—宏观破坏阶段 ,砂岩的密度损伤增量继续变负 ,速率变的更快。  相似文献

从微观能量传输角度,对飞秒脉冲激光的辐射传热及其产生的金属薄膜吸附层分子脱附过程的能量输运机理进行了研究。以非平衡态传热和随机过程理论为基础,建立了描述吸附分子脱附过程的数学模型;并分别对单脉冲与双脉冲飞秒激光辐射下,金属Ru基体表面层的电子和声子的温度分布、吸附层分子CO的脱附概率分布进行了数值模拟。其结果与实验规律相符,为飞秒脉冲激光应用于微机电系统中杂质脱附提供了重要信息。  相似文献

The structural theory of short-term microdamage is generalized to a fibrous composite with a microdamageable matrix and physically nonlinear fibers. The basis for the generalization is the stochastic elasticity equations of a fibrous composite with a porous matrix. Microvolumes in the matrix material meet the Huber-Mises failure criterion. The damaged-microvolume balance equation for the matrix is derived. This equation and the equations relating macrostresses and macrostrains of a fibrous composite with porous matrix and physically nonlinear fibers constitute a closed-form system of equations. This system describes the coupled processes of physically nonlinear deformation and microdamage occurring in different components of the composite. Algorithms for computing the microdamage-macrostrain and macrostress-macrostrain relationships are developed. An analysis is made of the steady two-dimensional stagnation-point flow of an incompressible viscoelastic fluid over a flat deformable surface when the surface is stretched in its own plane with a velocity proportional to the distance from the stagnation-point. It is shown that for a viscoelastic fluid of short memory (obeying Walters’ B′ model), a boundary layer is formed when the stretching velocity of the surface is less than the inviscid free-stream velocity and velocity at a point increases with increase in the elasticity of the fluid. On the other hand, an inverted boundary layer is formed when the surface stretching velocity exceeds the velocity of the free stream and the velocity decreases with increase in the elasticity of the fluid. A novel result of the analysis is that the flow near the stretching surface is that corresponding to an inviscid stagnation-point flow when the surface stretching velocity is equal to the velocity of the free stream. Temperature distribution in the boundary layer is found when the surface is held at constant temperature and surface heat flux is determined. It is found that temperature at a point decreases with increase in the elasticity of the fluid.  相似文献

We investigate the gas-particle dynamics of a device designed for biological pre-clinical experiments. The device uses transonic/supersonic gas flow to accelerate microparticles such that they penetrate the outer skin layers. By using a shock tube coupled to a correctly expanded nozzle, a quasi-one-dimensional, quasi-steady flow (QSF) is produced to uniformly accelerate the microparticles. The system utilises a microparticle “cassette” (a diaphragm sealed container) that incorporates a jet mixing mechanism to stir the particles prior to diaphragm rupture. Pressure measurements reveal that a QSF exit period – suitable for uniformly accelerating microparticles – exists between 155 and 220 mus after diaphragm rupture. Immediately preceding the QSF period, a starting process secondary shock was shown to form with its (x,t) trajectory comparing well to theoretical estimates. To characterise the microparticle, flow particle image velocimetry experiments were conducted at the nozzle exit, using particle payloads with varying diameter (2.7–48 μm), density (600–16,800 kg/m3) and mass (0.25–10 mg). The resultant microparticle velocities were temporally uniform. The experiments also show that the starting process does not significantly influence the microparticle nozzle exit velocities. The velocity distribution across the nozzle exit was also uniform for the majority of microparticle types tested. For payload masses typically used in pre-clinical drug and vaccine applications (≤ 1 mg), it was demonstrated that payload scaling does not affect the microparticle exit velocities. These characteristics show that the microparticle exit conditions are well controlled and are in agreement with ideal theory. These features combined with an attention to the practical requirements of a pre-clinical system make the device suitable for investigating microparticle penetration into the skin for drug delivery.  相似文献

From Crofton's formula for Minkowski tensors we derive stereological estimators of translation invariant surface tensors of convex bodies in the n‐dimensional Euclidean space. The estimators are based on one‐dimensional linear sections. In a design based setting we suggest three types of estimators. These are based on isotropic uniform random lines, vertical sections, and non‐isotropic random lines, respectively. Further, we derive estimators of the specific surface tensors associated with a stationary process of convex particles in the model based setting.  相似文献

Lately, profile monitoring has received considerable attention in the statistical process control research field. This paper proposes a novel monitoring framework for the reflow process data, which uses two goodness‐of‐fit criteria to select the change points in the mixture polynomial model. Among change points, the mixture second‐order polynomials are utilized to piecewisely approximate the nonlinear profile data of the reflow process. The well‐known Hotelling T2 and proposed EWMA4 control charts are then employed to monitor the parameter estimates. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed monitoring framework presents better performances in detecting outlying profiles than the conventional methods in phase I.
