We consider the 3D Navier–Stokes equation with generalized impermeability boundary conditions. As auxiliary results, we prove the local in time existence of a strong solution (‘strong’ in a limited sense) and a theorem on structure. Then, taking advantage of the boundary conditions, we formulate sufficient conditions for regularity up to the boundary of a weak solution by means of requirements on one of the eigenvalues of the rate of deformation tensor. Finally, we apply these general results to the case of an axially symmetric flow with zero angular velocity.  相似文献

Multiple integrals generalizing the iterated kernels of integral operators are expressed as single integrals in the case of a special representation of the kernel (this is our theorem). Besides integral equations, Markov processes involve these integrals as well. As a consequence of the theorem, we obtain transition probability densities of certain Markov processes. The convergence rate of a fast-converging second-order accurate iterative method with splitting of boundary conditions constructed by the authors for solving an axisymmetric Dirichlet boundary value problem for the Stokes system in a spherical gap is studied numerically. For R/r exceeding about 30, where r and R are the radii of the inner and outer boundary spheres, it is established that the convergence rate of the method is lower (and considerably lower for large R/r) than the convergence rate of its differential version. For this reason, a really simpler, more slowly converging modification of the original method is constructed on the differential level and a finite-element implementation of this modification is built. Numerical experiments have revealed that this modification has the same convergence rate as its differential counterpart for R/r of up to 5 × 103. When the multigrid method is used to solve the split and auxiliary boundary value problems arising at iterations, the modification is more efficient than the original method starting from R/r ~ 30 and is considerably more efficient for large values of R/r. It is also established that the convergence rates of both methods depend little on the stretching coefficient η of circularly rectangular mesh cells in a range of η that is well sufficient for effective use of the multigrid method for arbitrary values of R/r smaller than ~ 5 × 103.  相似文献

Solvatochromic effects on the fluorescence behavior of 7-hydroxy-4-methyl-8-(4′-methyl-piperazine-1′ yl)methylcoumarin (HMMC) was studied in different solvents. The fluorescence of HMMC was found to be highly sensitive to both the polarity and the protic character of the solvent. Exploiting the polarity-sensitive fluorescence property of HMMC, its excited-state dipole moment has been determined. Fluorescence (Förster) resonance energy transfer (FRET) process from HMMC to a potent bioactive molecule 3-acetyl-4-oxo-6,7-dihydro-12 H indolo-[2,3-a] quinolizine (AODIQ) was studied. From the determined KSV and R0 values, it is argued that a long-range dipole-dipole interaction is operating for the energy transfer mechanism. The energy transfer efficiency (E) and the distance between the acceptor and the donor (r0) have been determined.  相似文献

The adaptive cross approximation (ACA) algorithm (Numer. Math. 2000; 86 :565–589; Computing 2003; 70 (1):1–24) provides a means to compute data‐sparse approximants of discrete integral formulations of elliptic boundary value problems with almost linear complexity. ACA uses only few of the original entries for the approximation of the whole matrix and is therefore well‐suited to speed up existing computer codes. In this article we extend the convergence proof of ACA to Galerkin discretizations. Additionally, we prove that ACA can be applied to integral formulations of systems of second‐order elliptic operators without adaptation to the respective problem. The results of applying ACA to boundary integral formulations of linear elasticity are reported. Furthermore, we comment on recent implementation issues of ACA for non‐smooth boundaries. An approximate method is developed to solve the full nonlinear equations governing two-dimensional irrotational flow in a free waterfall, falling under the influence of gravity, at high Froude number based on conditions far upstream. Schwarz—Christoffel transformation is used to map the region, in the complex potential-plane, onto the upper half-plane. The Hilbert transformation as well as the perturbation technique, for large Froude number, are used as a basis for the approximate solution of the problem. A complete solution, up to second-order approximation, for the downstream free-surfaces profiles, for different Froude number, is discussed and illustrated. The obtained approximate solutions are compared with those of other authors. Favourable agreement with other results suggests that this method is effective in dealing with flow problems strongly influenced by gravity and high Froude number. The results obtained by this method are sufficiently accurate for practical purposes.  相似文献
