Thin polyimide (PI) and polyethersulfone (PES) films are widely used as functional layers for microelectronic sensors. Ion implantation modifies the layer structure and morphology of these polymers and hence results in new mechanical and optical properties. However, ion-modified layers also show a change in sensitivity to moisture uptake under specific conditions. This is important for developing humidity sensors. Therefore, the water sorption ability of such modified polymer layers is studied by spectroscopic ellipsometry under definite relative humidity conditions (1–95%). Swelling data were obtained by fitting procedures based on changes of effective layer thickness and optical constants due to water uptake. Irradiation doses from 0.5 to 5×1015 B+ cm–2 at an energy of 180 keV were used for polymer modification. At irradiation doses from 0.5 to 0.7×1015 B+ cm–2, the maximum out-of-plane swelling is reached. At higher doses >2×1015 B+ cm–2, the swelling decreases and corresponds to values of the pure polymer layers. The wetting properties of the layer surfaces determined by contact angle measurements are important to explain this behavior. 相似文献

The resonance Raman spectra of gaseous iodine bromide IBr have been studied with the excitation of various argon ion laser lines from 5017 to 4579Å. The fine structures of the fundamental and few overtones of IBr are also studied by various power of 4880Å laser line. The resonance Raman scattering is found to be strong as that of Br2 and ICI. A new term “apparent spectroscopic temperature” is suggusted for the case of the resonance Raman scattering. The apparent spectroscopic temperatures measured in this cell show that the system is not in thermal equilibrium. Br2 is the hottest and I2 is the coldest. IBr is in the middle. Unfortunately, no chemical reaction enhanced phenomenon is found although there should be some chemical reactions occurring under the laser light. The initiating reaction is the photodissociation of the main component IBr which also has large absorptivity. Because of the non-crossing between the B3Π and the 1Π states, the primary products of the photodissociation should be I and Br. The chemical reactions of I and Br with IBr follow. The reactions of I and IBr is endothermic but the reaction of Br with IBr is exothermic. Therefore vibrational hot Br2 is produced and its apparent spectroscopic temperature should be higher. Quartz is a common phenocryst in acidic volcanic rocks but rarely contributes to the understanding of the magmatic or eruptive
processes due to its apparent chemical homogeneity. Cathodoluminescence studies indicate that volcanic quartz is strongly
zoned with respect to the trace elements. The determination of this zoning can help to elucidate the crystallisation history
of the magmatic rock. Polished thin sections from rhyolitic and dacitic volcanic rocks were examined by cathodoluminescence
mounted on an optical microscope and analysed by electron probe microanalysis. X-ray mapping of the trace elements incorporated
in the zoned quartz was also performed. The interpretation of the data obtained from these different analytical methods provides
useful information on the chemical zoning of single crystals and therefore on the chemico-physical conditions of the melt
from which the quartz crystallised. Quartz from dacitic rock shows a complex cathodoluminescence oscillatory zoning, consisting
of large red-brown and blue bands concentric to a resorbed core. Quartz from rhyolite shows simpler cathodoluminescence zoning,
consisting of dark to bright blue luminescent bands. The EMPA analyses and the X-ray maps combined with the cathodoluminescence
images suggest a clear correlation between the concentrations of some trace element (mainly Al and Ti, acting as activators
of luminescence) and the cathodoluminescence colours pattern zoning. The incorporation of these trace elements during the
growth of the crystals is linked to small variations in the thermo-chemical properties of the magma such as temperature and
