The mechanisms involved in the formation of n‐butanol during the synthesis of butyl acrylate containing latices were investigated. The experimental results showed that neither the hydrolysis of butyl acrylate nor of the ester bond in the butyl acrylate segments of the polymer played a major role in the formation of n‐butanol, which was mainly generated from the polymer backbone, by transfer reactions to polymer chain followed by cyclization. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Three new copolymers, namely poly(fluorenevinylene‐alt‐naphthalenevinylene) ( N ), poly(fluorenevinylene‐alt‐anthracenevinylene) ( A ) and poly(fluorenevinylene‐alt‐pyrenevinylene) ( P ), were synthesized by Heck coupling of 9,9‐dihexyl‐2, 7‐divinylfluorene with a polynuclear aromatic dibromide. The 9,10‐disubstituted anthracene was obtained exclusively for A while N and P were obtained as a mixture of two isomers with predominant the 1,4‐disubstituted naphthalene and 1,8‐disubstituted pyrene, respectively. The polymers were soluble in common organic solvents and decomposed above 370 °C. Their glass transition temperature increased from 58 to 110 °C by increasing the number of the phenyl rings of the polynuclear aromatic moiety. Rather high‐efficiency blue and blue‐greenish photoluminescence (PL) of these copolymers in solution was largely decreased in their films, indicating the presence of concentration quenching in the solid state. The OLED using these polymers demonstrated green EL in the case of copolymers N and A , and red EL in the P derivative with ηEL = 0.26–0.31%. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Functional spontaneous gradient copolymers of allyl methacrylate (A) and butyl acrylate (B) were synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization. The copolymerization reactions were carried out in toluene solutions at 100 °C with methyl 2‐bromopropionate as the initiator and copper bromide with N,N,N′,N″,N″‐pentamethyldiethylenetriamine as the catalyst system. Different aspects of the statistical reaction copolymerizations, such as the kinetic behavior, crosslinking density, and gel fraction, were studied. The gel data were compared with Flory's gelation theory, and the sol fractions of the synthesized copolymers were characterized by size exclusion chromatography and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The copolymer composition, demonstrating the gradient character of the copolymers, and the microstructure were analyzed. The experimental data agreed well with data calculated with the Mayo–Lewis terminal model and Bernoullian statistics, with monomer reactivity ratios of 2.58 ± 0.37 and 0.51 ± 0.05 for A and B, respectively, an isotacticity parameter for A of 0.24, and a coisotacticity parameter of 0.33. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Living radical polymerization of n‐butyl acrylate was achieved by single electron transfer/degenerative‐chain transfer mediated living radical polymerization in water catalyzed by sodium dithionate. The plots of number–average molecular weight versus conversion and ln[M]0/[M] versus time are linear, indicating a controlled polymerization. This methodology leads to the preparation of α,ω‐di(iodo) poly (butyl acrylate) (α,ω‐di(iodo)PBA) macroinitiators. The influence of polymerization degree ([monomer]/[initiator]), amount of catalyst, concentration of suspending agents and temperature were studied. The molecular weight distributions were determined using a combination of three detectors (TriSEC): right‐angle light scattering (RALLS), a differential viscometer (DV), and refractive index (RI). The methodology studied in this work represents a possible route to prepare well‐tailored macromolecules made of butyl acrylate in an environmental friendly reaction medium. Moreover, such materials can be subsequently functionalized leading to the formation of different block copolymers of composition ABA. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A background-free, fast protein staining method in polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis using an acidic dye, zincon (ZC) and a basic dye, ethyl violet (EV) is described. It is based on the counterion dye staining technique that employs two oppositely charged dyes to form an ion-pair complex in staining solution. The selective binding of free dye molecules to proteins in acidic solution produces bluish violet-colored bands. It is a rapid and end-point staining procedure, involving only fixing and staining steps that are completed in 1-1.5 h. The detection limit of this method is 8-15 ng of protein that is comparable to the sensitivity of the colloidal Coomassie Brilliant Blue G (CBBG) stain. Due to its sensitivity and speed, this stain may be more practical than any other dye-based stains for routine laboratory purposes.  相似文献

Conductance data for sodium nitrite, chloride, and acetate in water andN,N-dimethylformamide (DMF)-water mixtures (74.82D42.48) for the concentration range 0.001–0.04N, as well as the densities, viscosities, and dielectric constants of the solvent mixtures at 35°C, are reported. The data have been analyzed by the Fuoss (1975) equation. The existence of a maximum in the viscosity at a 13 mole ratio of DMF and water is indicated. The Walden products for all the three salts pass through a maximum while the equivalent conductances show a minimum with increasing DMF content. Two New Metatitanates with Five-coordinated Titanium: CsNaTiO3 and RbNaTiO3 [1] The new oxides CsNaTiO3 (I) and RbNaTiO3 (II) are obtained by heating well grounded mixtures of the binary oxides in Ni-tubes as colourless platelike crystals. I: CsO0.56, NaO0.48 and TiO2, Cs:Na:Ti = 1.1:1.1:1.0; 600°C, 61 d as well as CsO0.97, NaO0.48 and Ti2O3, Cs:Na:Ti = 1.5:3.0:1.0; 760°C, 27 d. II: RbO0.52, NaO0.48 and TiO2, Rb:Na:Ti = 1.1:1.1:1.0; 750°C, 14 d as well as RbO0.98, NaO0.48 and Ti2O3, Rb:Na:Ti = 1.5:3.1:1.0; 760°C, 27 d. CsNaTiO3 (orthorhombic, Cmcm) is nearly isostructural with KNaTiO3 [2]; a = 601.4(1) pm, b = 1 120.3(1) pm, c = 563.4(1) pm (Guinier-Simon-Data, Z = 4). RbNaTiO3 (monoclinic, C2/c) is isostructural with KNaTiO3; a = 590.3(1) pm, b = 1 098.4(1) pm, c = 555.1(0) pm, β = 92.15° (Guinier-Simon-Data, Z = 4). Both structures are determined by using four-circle diffractometer data (CsNaTiO3: Siemens AED2, 2 896Io(hkl), MoKα , R = 2.4%, Rw = 2.3%; RbNaTiO3: Philips PW 1 100, 2 743Io(hkl), AgKα , R = 9.9%, Rw = 8.9%; additional data see text). Methyl methacrylate and butyl methacrylate were polymerized in oil-in-water microemulsions that were stabilized by sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS). A poly(N-acetylethylenimine) (PNAEI) macromer was also included in the recipe, as a cosurfactant and a comonomer. Polymerizations were initiated by UV-irradiation. The average diameters of latex particles, obtained by STM, were in the range of 17-200 nm. The experimental data evidenced that the particle size was mainly dependent on the SDS/PNAEI ratio. Polymerization yields were around 75-85%. The synthesized copolymers have viscosity average molecular weights in the range of 2.1-2.4×106 and glass transition temperatures of 38.0-43.5°C, lower than those obtained without using PNAEI. The investigation by means of FTIR and 1H-NMR techniques revealed that PNAEI was incorporated into the nanoparticles.  相似文献
