Nonlinear Diffusion Processes

We study elliptic systems of strongly nonlinear first-order differential equations in complex form on the plane. For such systems we develop the theory of Hilbert boundary value problems which is very much similar to the well-known theory for a holomorphic vector. Systems of nonlinear elliptic equations describe problems of interaction of several nonlinear stationary processes in the diffusive and convective mass and heat transport by hydrodynamic fluid flows.

Ill-posedness for the Zakharov system with generalized nonlinearity

We study the ill-posedness question for the one-dimensional Zakharov system and a generalization of it in one and higher dimensions. Our point of reference is the criticality criteria introduced by Ginibre, Tsutsumi and Velo (1997) to establish local well-posedness.

     

The modified characteristic finite difference fractional steps method for the coupled system of fluid dynamics in porous media and its analysis

For the coupled system of multilayer fluid dynamics in porous media, the modified characteristic finite difference fractional steps method applicable to parallel arithmetic is put forward and two‐dimensional and three‐dimensional schemes are used to form a complete set. Some techniques, such as calculus of variations, energy method, piecewise biquadratic interpolation, multiplicative commutation rule of difference operators, decomposition of high order difference operators and prior estimates are adopted. Optimal order estimates in L² norm are derived to determine the error in the approximate solution. This method has already been applied to the numerical simulation of multilayer fluid dynamics in porous media. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. PERIODIC SOLUTIONS OF PLANAR SYSTEM WITH SIX DELAYS

In this paper we obtain some sufficient conditions for the existence of non-constant periodic solutions of the following planar system with six delaysOur approach is based on the continuation theorem of the coincidence degree.     

EXACT CONTROLLABILITY FOR FIRST ORDER QUASILINEAR HYPERBOLIC SYSTEMS WITH ZERO EIGENVALUES＊＊＊

For a class of mixed initial-boundary value problem for general quasilinear hyperbolic sys-tems with zero eigenvalues, the authors establish the local exact controllability with boundary controls acting on one end or on two ends and internai controls acting on a part of equations in the system.     

ON INTERACTION OF SHOCK AND SOUND WAVE （I）

This paper studies the interaction of shock and gradient wave (sound wave) of solutions to the system of inviscid isentropic gas dynamics as a model for the corresponding problems for nonlinear hyperbolic systems. The problem can be reduced to a boundary value problem in a wedged dormain, By using the method of constructing asymptotic solutions and Newton‘siteration process it is proved that if a weak shock hits a gradient wave, then the grandient wave will split into two gradient waves, while the shock continuses propagating. In this paper the author reduces the problem to a standard form and constructs asymptotic solution of the problem. The existence of the genuine solution will he given in the following paper.     

On a new system of nonlinear A-monotone multivalued variational inclusions

In this paper, we introduce and study a new system of nonlinear A-monotone multivalued variational inclusions in Hilbert spaces. By using the concept and properties of A-monotone mappings, and the resolvent operator technique associated with A-monotone mappings due to Verma, we construct a new iterative algorithm for solving this system of nonlinear multivalued variational inclusions associated with A-monotone mappings in Hilbert spaces. We also prove the existence of solutions for the nonlinear multivalued variational inclusions and the convergence of iterative sequences generated by the algorithm. Our results improve and generalize many known corresponding results.
