Surface tension and viscosity measurements of liquids with the survismeter: a single instrumental unit

Surface tension (γ) and viscosity (η) data of aqueous solutions of the deoxyadenosine (DOA) and the deoxyribose (DOR) sugars have been measured with the survismeter, a new instrument, along with tetrahydrofuran (THF), dimethylformamide (DMF), acetonitrile and dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO) solvents. The same properties have also been measured with a stalagmometer and a viscosimeter, respectively, which afford the same information, albeit at the expense of a larger amount of chemicals and solvents. We obtain comparatively better accuracy in both kinds of measurements than with conventional methods. Therefore, the survismeter lends itself as a simple and reliable instrument.     

Three‐dimensional computation for flow‐induced vibrations in in‐line and cross‐flow directions of a circular cylinder

We present numerical results for in‐line and cross‐flow vibrations of a circular cylinder, which is immersed in a uniform flow and is elastically supported by damper‐spring systems to compute vibrations of a rigid cylinder. In the case of a circular cylinder with a low Scruton number, it is well‐known that two types of self‐excited vibrations appear in the in‐line direction in the range of low reduced velocities. On the other hand, a cross‐flow vibration of the circular cylinder can be excited in the range of high reduced velocities. Therefore, we compute the flow‐induced vibrations of the circular cylinder in the wide range of the reduced velocities at low and high Scruton numbers and discuss about excitation mechanisms in the in‐line and cross‐flow directions. On the Pesin set of expansive geodesic flows in manifolds with no conjugate points

In this paper, we show that the Pesin set of an expansive geodesic flow in compact manifold with no conjugate points and bounded asymptote coincides a.e with an open and dense set of the unit tangent bundle. We also show that the set of hyperbolic periodic orbits is dense in the unit tangent bundle.     

Construction of graphs with given circular flow numbers

Suppose r ≥ 2 is a real number. A proper r‐flow of a directed multi‐graph is a mapping such that (i) for every edge , ; (ii) for every vertex , . The circular flow number of a graph G is the least r for which an orientation of G admits a proper r‐flow. The well‐known 5‐flow conjecture is equivalent to the statement that every bridgeless graph has circular flow number at most 5. On the nonexistence of finite time bubble trees in symmetric harmonic map heat flows from the disk to the 2-sphere

Let and be the unit disk and the unit sphere, and let be a radially symmetric harmonic map heat flow, whose singularities coincide with downward energy jumps. Then its finite time singularities are simple in the sense that precisely one harmonic sphere separates at a time.     

厚翅片管内流体流动和传热的数值分析

本文应用Ｐａｔａｎｋａｒ等人［１］研究薄翅片管的湍流模型，对一种工业化的厚翅片管内的流体流动和传热进行了数值分析。计算范围包括了层流和湍流（Ｒｅ＝１０１～１０６），所得计算结果与较窄范围内实验所测的传热与阻力数据相当符合，本计算结果具有较大的推广价值。     

Axiom A flows with a transverse torus

Then we show that has either an attracting periodic orbit or a repelling periodic orbit or is transitive. In particular, an Anosov flow with a transverse torus is transitive if it has a unique periodic orbit that does not intersect the torus.

将亚迭代技术引入流体动力学和刚体动力学方程的耦合求解,获得细长三角翼极限环运动的规律.探讨耦合时间精度对飞行器非定常运动特性的影响,细长三角冀的大迎角自由滚运动最终形成极限环振荡的周期性自维持运动,不同攻角自由滚振幅阶跃式的变化特点较好地吻合了自由滚试验的规律.对于多系统耦合问题,亚迭代耦合求解(耦合时间精度为二阶)对物理时间步长的依赖性不明显;而存在一阶时间滞后的解耦推进方法的数值结果强烈地依赖于物理时间步长选取,稍大的时间步长将导致非物理的数值结果.     

大亚湾核电站周围大气流场监测数据同化分析

在大亚湾核电站周围大气流场分布模拟计算中,引入了一种简化的同化技术,用以解决观测数据在时间、空间上分布不均匀导致的流场预报误差.测试并分析了该同化技术对计算模式和初始场的影响,结果表明该同化方法对模式误差和初始场误差的抑制是显著的.
