The contribution of K.-H. Elster to generalized conjugation theory and nonconvex duality

This article surveys the main contributions of K.-H. Elster to the theory of generalized conjugate functions and its applications to duality in nonconvex optimization.     

Selective switching of individual multipole resonances in single dielectric nanoparticles

Following Mie theory, nanoparticles made of a high‐refractive‐index dielectric, such as silicon, exhibit a resonator‐like behavior and very rich resonance spectra. Which electric or magnetic particle mode is excited depends on the wavelength, the refractive‐index contrast relative to the environment, and the geometry of the nanoparticle itself. In addition, the spatial structure of the impinging light field plays a major role in the excitation of the nanoparticle resonances. Here, it is shown that, by tailoring the excitation field, individual multipole resonances can be selectively addressed while suppressing the excitation of other particle modes. This enables a detailed study of selected individual resonances without interference by the other modes.

     

Detection of NMR signals with a radio-frequency atomic magnetometer

We demonstrate detection of proton NMR signals with a radio-frequency (rf) atomic magnetometer tuned to the NMR frequency of 62 kHz. High-frequency operation of the atomic magnetometer makes it relatively insensitive to ambient magnetic field noise. We obtain magnetic field sensitivity of 7 fT/Hz1/2 using only a thin aluminum shield. We also derive an expression for the fundamental sensitivity limit of a surface inductive pick-up coil as a function of frequency and find that an atomic rf magnetometer is intrinsically more sensitive than a coil of comparable size for frequencies below about 50 MHz.     

Spectral editing in solid-state MAS NMR of quadrupolar nuclei using selective satellite inversion

A sensitivity enhancement method based on selective adiabatic inversion of a satellite transition has been employed in a (pi/2)CT-(pi)ST1-(pi/2)CT spectral editing sequence to both enhance and resolve multisite NMR spectra of quadrupolar nuclei. In addition to a total enhancement of 2.5 times for spin 3/2 nuclei, enhancements up to 2.0 times is reported for the edited sites in a mixture of rubidium salts.     

Numerically anticanonical divisors on Kato surfaces

The compact curves of an intermediate Kato surface $S$ form a basis of $H^2(S,\mathbb{Q})$. We present a way to compute the associated rational coefficients of the first Chern class $c_1\left(S\right)$. We get in particular a simple geometric obstruction for $c_1\left(S\right)$ to be an integral class, or equivalently index $\left(S\right)=1$. In the final part we discuss relations with some recent work of Dloussky (2011) and Oeljeklaus and Toma (2009).     

基于AltiVec技术的PowerPC处理器矢量运算性能测试

基于AltiVec技术的PowerPC处理器,在很多嵌入式信号处理领域已经取代传统的DSP处理器成为信号处理器件的首选。为了评估基于AltiVec技术的PowerPC处理器的矢量运算性能和信号处理能力,选取MPC8641D处理器为硬件测试平台,采用符合VSIPL标准的VSI/Pro Core矢量库和ixlibsav矢量库,通过测试复乘和FFT典型算法不同类型的运算时间,对AltiVec处理单元的矢量运算性能进行了测试评估。通过对测试结果的分析,基于AltiVec技术的PowerPC处理器具备强大的矢量运算处理性能,可以满足嵌入式数字信号处理技术对高性能处理器的需求。     

基于二阶段异质随机森林的汽油辛烷值预测

构建了基于二阶段异质随机森林的汽油辛烷值预测模型.首先利用样本-位点信息表知识约简模型,筛选出对汽油辛烷值影响大的位点数据作为第一阶段;然后,利用集成学习思想集成支持向量回归和动态时间序列神经网络,构建异质随机森林预测模型作为第二阶段.利用十折交叉法验证模型精度,结果表明该集成学习算法具有有效性和高精度.
