Exploiting sparsity has been a key issue in solving large-scale optimization problems. The most time-consuming part of primal-dual interior-point methods for linear programs, second-order cone programs, and semidefinite programs is solving the Schur complement equation at each iteration, usually by the Cholesky factorization. The computational efficiency is greatly affected by the sparsity of the coefficient matrix of the equation which is determined by the sparsity of an optimization problem (linear program, semidefinite program or second-order cone program). We show if an optimization problem is correlatively sparse, then the coefficient matrix of the Schur complement equation inherits the sparsity, and a sparse Cholesky factorization applied to the matrix results in no fill-in. The Perspective Reformulation generates tight approximations to MINLP problems with semicontinuous variables. It can be implemented either as a Second-Order Cone Program, or as a Semi-Infinite Linear Program. A new smoothing function of the well-known Fischer–Burmeister function is given. Based on this new function, a smoothing Newton-type method is proposed for solving second-order cone programming. At each iteration, the proposed algorithm solves only one system of linear equations and performs only one line search. This algorithm can start from an arbitrary point and it is Q-quadratically convergent under a mild assumption. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the algorithm.  相似文献

By using the Z p geometrical index theory, some sufficient conditions on the multiplicity results of periodic solutions to the second-order difference equations

Theoretical study of double-layered porous Rayleigh-step bearings with second-order fluid as lubricant is presented. An approximate method for the solutions of the governing fluid film equations for a porous region is proposed. The expressions for the pressure distribution, load capacity and frictional coefficient are obtained in compact form. Calculations of the dimensionless load capacity, frictional force and frictional coefficients are presented for specific values of the material parameters. It is found that the double porous layer yields an increase in the load capacity and ensures decrease in frictional force at the porous lining as compared with the conventional porous Rayleigh-step bearings. The maximum dimensionless load-carrying capacity is found to occur at a slightly larger step ratio as compared with the conventional porous Rayleigh-step bearings.  相似文献

With the two-scale expansion technique proposed by Yoshizawa,the turbulent fluctuating field is expanded around the isotropic field.At a low-order two-scale expansion,applying the mode coupling approximation in the Yakhot-Orszag renormalization group method to analyze the fluctuating field,the Reynolds-average terms in the Reynolds stress transport equation,such as the convective term,the pressure-gradient-velocity correlation term and the dissipation term,are modeled.Two numerical examples:turbulent flow past a backward-facing step and the fully developed flow in a rotating channel,are presented for testing the efficiency of the proposed second-order model.For these two numerical examples,the proposed model performs as well as the Gibson-Launder (GL) model,giving better prediction than the standard k-ε model,especially in the abilities to calculate the secondary flow in the backward-facing step flow and to capture the asymmetric turbulent structure caused by frame rotation.  相似文献

We propose and analyze a single-interval Legendre-Gauss-Radau (LGR) spectral collocation method for nonlinear second-order initial value problems of ordinary differentialequations. We design an efficient iterative algorithm and prove spectral convergence forthe single-interval LGR collocation method. For more effective implementation, we propose a multi-interval LGR spectral collocation scheme, which provides us great flexibilitywith respect to the local time steps and local approximation degrees. Moreover, we combine the multi-interval LGR collocation method in time with the Legendre-Gauss-Lobattocollocation method in space to obtain a space-time spectral collocation approximation fornonlinear second-order evolution equations. Numerical results show that the proposedmethods have high accuracy and excellent long-time stability. Numerical comparison between our methods and several commonly used methods are also provided.  相似文献

In [20], a semi-implicit spectral deferred correction (SDC) method was proposed, whichis efficient for highly nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs). The semi-implicitSDC method in [20] is based on first-order time integration methods, which are correctediteratively, with the order of accuracy increased by one for each additional iteration. Inthis paper, we will develop a class of semi-implicit SDC methods, which are based onsecond-order time integration methods and the order of accuracy are increased by two foreach additional iteration. For spatial discretization, we employ the local discontinuousGalerkin (LDG) method to arrive at fully-discrete schemes, which are high-order accuratein both space and time. Numerical experiments are presented to demonstrate the accuracy,efficiency and robustness of the proposed semi-implicit SDC methods for solving complexnonlinear PDEs.  相似文献

A USM-Θ two-phase turbulence model for simulating dense gas-particle flows   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A second-order moment two-phase turbulence model for simulating dense gas-particle flows (USM- model), combining the unified second-order moment two-phase turbulence model for dilute gas-particle flows with the kinetic theory of particle collision, is proposed. The interaction between gas and particle turbulence is simulated using the transport equation of two-phase velocity correlation with a two-time-scale dissipation closure. The proposed model is applied to simulate dense gas-particle flows in a horizontal channel and a downer. Simulation results and their comparison with experimental results show that the model accounting for both anisotropic particle turbulence and particle-particle collision is obviously better than models accounting for only particle turbulence or only particle-particle collision. The USM- model is also better than the k--kp- model and the k--kp-p- model in that the first model can simulate the redistribution of anisotropic particle Reynolds stress components due to inter-particle collision, whereas the second and third models cannot.The project supported by the Special Funds for Major State Basic Research of China (G-1999-0222-08), the National Natural Science Foundation of China (50376004), and Ph.D. Program Foundation, Ministry of Education of China (20030007028)  相似文献
