Determination of vanadium, molybdenum and tungsten in complex matrix samples by chelation ion chromatography and on-line detection with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry

In this work, two kinds of chelating resin, bis(2-aminoethylthio)methylated resin (BAETM) and γ-aminobutyrohydroxamate resin (γ-ABHX) were synthesized. Of these, the former has a hydrophobic skeleton, and the latter a hydrophilic skeleton. The functionalities of each were 0.91 and 2.21 mmol g⁻¹, respectively. The chelating behavior of these resins towards vanadium, molybdenum and tungsten as a function of pH was studied. To perform trace metals analysis in complex matrices, a hyphenated method-chelation ion chromatography (CIC) coupled on-line detection with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was developed. With a BAETM resin column (5×0.4 cm i.d.) as the separator, a sample volume of 20 μl, nitric acid (pH 1.5) as the eluent and a flow rate of 1 ml min⁻¹, the detection limits for the determination of vanadium, molybdenum and tungsten were lower than 0.05 ng ml⁻¹and the linear ranges were up to 100 ng ml⁻¹ for each element. By increasing the injected sample volume to 250 μl, the resin concentrator improved the detection limit to 0.01 ng ml⁻¹. For the determination of these elements (5 ng ml⁻¹ for each) spiked in artificial sea water samples, γ-ABHX resin column (3×0.6 cm i.d.) demonstrated well resolved peak separation between the analytes and the matrix elements—calcium and magnesium, by using sodium nitrate (10 ml, 10⁻⁴ M) as the eliminator.     

A new method for the synthesis of CF3-containing aminovinyl ketones

A new method for the synthesis of aminovinyl trifluoromethyl ketones was developed. The method is based on the reactions of 4-sulfonyl-1,1,1-trifluorobut-3-ene-2,2-diols with various alkyl-, aryl-, dialkyl-, and alkylarylamines. The stereochemistry of the compounds obtained was studied.     

二(2,4,4-三甲基戊基)膦酸萃取分离稀土元素(Ⅲ)的研究

本文研究了二(2,4,4-三甲基戊基)磷酸(Cyanex 272)的煤油溶液在不同介质(HCI,HNO_3)中对三价混合稀土的萃取分离性能.观测了平衡水相酸度对萃取平衡的影响,由酸度曲线求出相邻元素的平均分离系数,并考察了酸度对反萃取平衡的影响.比较了HCI和HNO_3介质中,Cyanex 272对混合稀土(Ⅲ)的萃取性能.     

Synthesis and properties of a poly(diphenylacetylene) containing carbazolyl groups

1-(p-N-Carbazolylphenyl)-2-phenylacetylene (p-CzDPA) was polymerized by TaCl₅–co-catalyst systems (cocatalysts: n-Bu₁Sn, Et₃SiH, and 9BBN) to produce acetone-insoluble polymers in about 60-70% yields. Poly(p-CzDPA) was a yellowish-orange solid, most part of which was soluble in toluene, chloroform, etc., and its weight-average molecular weights were around 4×10⁵. This polymer formed a tough film by solution casting, and was thermally very stable (the onset temperature of weight loss in TGA in air 470°C). The oxygen per-meability coefficient of the polymer at 25°C was lower than two barrers. The present polymer showed photoconductivity and redox activity. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.     

Volume and heat capacity of model non-aqueous self-assembly systems

Blends of immiscible polymers are often stabilized by block copolymers which can form non-aqueous micelles and microemulsions in the liquid polymers. The phase diagrans, apparent volumes and apparent heat capacities of model non-aqueous binary and ternary systems were studied in order to investigate the conditions under which such self-assembly systems could form. 1,2-Hexanediol, which can cosolubilize hexane and ethyleneglycol, forms inverse micelles in hexane and weak microaggregates in ethyleneglycol. Genapol X-060, a commercial alcoholic surfactant containing on the average an aliphatic chain of 13 carbons and 6 oxyethylenes (C₁₃E₆), forms microaggregates in poly(ethyleneglycol) 400. These self-assembly systems are strengthen in the presence of a third component which has an affinity for the inner phase.Presented at the Symposium, 76^th CSC Congress, Sherbrooke, Quebec, May 30–June 3, 1993, honoring Professor Donald Patterson on the occasion of his 65^th birthday.     

Formation and Crystal Structure of Stable Five‐coordinate Diorgano Cobalt(III) Complexes

The mer‐octahedral complexes(2‐carbonyl)(4‐Me)(6‐tBu)phenolato[C,O]hydridotris(trimethylphosphine)cobalt(III) ( 1 ) or ‐(1‐carbonyl)(2‐oxo)(1,2‐diphenylethene)[C,O]hydridotris(trimethylphosphine)cobalt(III) ( 2 ) via formal insertion of propynoic acid ethyl ester into Co‐H functions afford pentacoordinate vinylcobalt(III) 3 and 4 , respectively, that are diamagnetic and attain a square pyramidal structure as exemplified by an X‐ray diffraction analysis of 3 .     

人工神经网络X射线荧光光谱法测定钢中酸溶铝

建立了一种人工神经网络-X射线荧光光谱法测定钢中酸溶铝的方法，用X射线荧光光谱法测定低合金钢中总铝值，应用所建立的ANN-BP网络模型，输入总铝含量直接预测出酸溶铝含量。同时使用改进的BP算法，避免了神经网络学习中可能产生的麻痹现象。该方法用于钢中酸溶铝的测定，结果满意。     

An attempt on the VOC oxidation using mechanically activated catalyst

A catalytic action of the mechanochemical products of copper hydroxocarbonate with calcium carbonate was investigated in n-butyl alcohol oxidation tests. The solid products of high-energy milling were identified using thermogravimetry supplemented by X-ray diffraction method. It was shown that the mechanical activation induces more effective tested catalyst because it promotes the alcohol conversion at lower temperatures than that unmilled one. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Reactions of Hydroxyazolidines with π-Donor Heterocycles. 3. Reaction of 1-Acetyl-5-hydroxypyrazolidines with Oxindoles

The reaction of oxindoles with 5-hydroxypyrazolidines on the surface of potassium fluoride-modified alumina leads to 3-(5-pyrazolidinyl)oxindoles. The structure of these products was studied.     

Polymer-Titanium hybrids obtained by radical polymerization and Sol-Gel process

The possibility to prepare hybrids made by poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc), poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and/or poly(ethyl acrylate) (PEtA) with TiO₂ was studied. The processes of polymer formation-radical polymerization and sol-gel process for inorganic network —were achieved simultaneously. Due to a high reactivity of titanium isopropoxide (TIP) in the sol-gel process, a complexant comonomer, allyl acetoacetate (AlAcAc), was used. Covalent bonds between polymer and inorganic chains were obtained by addition of trialkoxysilane derivates with vinyl (VTES) or methacryloyl (MPTS) groups. The presence of TIP inhibits the radical polymerization of vinyl acetate (VAc). The PVAc-TiO₂ hybrids were produced by the sol-gel process of TIP in the presence of pre-obtained PVAc. Except for VTES and MPTS, trialkoxysilane derivates with methyl (MeTES), octyl (OTES) and phenyl (PTES) groups were used. The thermal stability of hybrids is strongly affected by TiO₂ presence and by the type of trialkoxysilane derivates. The thermal stability of PVAc hybrids decreases in the presence of TiO₂ inorganic network. The glass transition temperature of polymers increases in the presence of the inorganic network.
