In laser-assisted combustion diagnostics it is a recurring task to predict molecular transitions whose signal strength depends only weakly on variations in temperature. The signal strength is proportional to the Boltzmann fraction of the level probed and the amplitude of the absorption line profile. In the past investigations have been presented in which this task was attack by detailed numerical calculations of the temperature dependence of pertinent physical properties of the molecule. Another widely applied approach relies on an analytical formula for the Boltzmann fraction of hetero-nuclear diatomic molecules and the neglect of line shape effects. The analytical approach experiences a continuing popularity in laser-assisted combustion diagnostics, which is why we compared both approaches with each other. The objective of this comparison was to assess the accuracy of the analytical approach and to reveal its potential pitfalls. Our comparison revealed that the analytical approach suffers from mediocre accuracy, which makes it unfit for practical applications. One cause is the neglect of higher lying vibrational levels, which show a non-negligible population for typical flame temperatures. Another reason is the neglect of fine structure splitting in molecules with non-zero orbit angular momentum in the ground state. Another reason for the observed inaccuracy is the neglect of line shape effects quenching, which were found to have a significant effect on the temperature sensitivity of a line. Because of its insufficient accuracy due to both oversimplified models of the molecular energy levels and the neglect of line shape effects and quenching we discourage from applying the analytical approach and recommend the use of detailed numerical approaches that are free of the above limitations. 相似文献

A new single-molecule magnet [Mn11Fe1O12 (CH3COO)16(H2O)4]?2CH3COOH?4H2O (Mn11Fe1) has been synthesized.The structure has been studied by the single crystal x-ray diffraction. The difference of Jahn--Teller distortion between Fe3+ and Mn3+ ion reveals that Fe3+ ion substitutes for Mn3+ ion on the Mn(3)
sites in the Mn12 skeleton. The temperature dependence of the magnetization gives a blocking temperature TB=1.9K for Mn11Fe1. Based on the magnetization process analysis of the crystal at T=2K, we suggest that Mn11Fe1 has the ground state with a total spin S= 11/2. 相似文献

A 3D model of semiconductor quantum ring (QR) based on the single sub-band approach with an energy-dependent electron effective mass is considered. The non-linear energy confinement problem is numerically solved iteratively by using the finite elements method. We calculate the energy spectrum of the electron states for the InAs/GaAs QR using the geometrical parameters obtained in the fabrication of such rings by A. Lorke, et al. (Phys. Rev. Based on the theory of coupling vibration and flexural vibration of thin rod of rectangular cross section, the fiexural vibration of rectangular thin plate was studied. The frequency equation was derived under the condition of freeboundaries. The normal modes and the relation between the normal modes and the resonant frequency were obtained. Experiments showed that the calculated resonant frequencies agree well with the measured results, and the rectangular thin plate in flexural vibration has abundant resonant frequencies. The radiator of flexural vibration used in ultrasonic cleaning and other techniques has the advantages of large acoustic radiating area, uniform acoustic field and easy adjustment of resonant frequencies, proving that it is a promising ultrasonic source. 相似文献

We have studied the coherent dynamics of a semiconductor microcavity by means of interferometric correlation measurements with subpicosecond time resolution in a backscattering geometry. Evidence is brought of the resolution of a homogeneous polariton line in an inhomogeneously broadened exciton system. Surprisingly, photon-like polaritons exhibit an inhomogeneous dephasing. Moreover, we observe an unexpected stationary coherence up to 8 ps for the lower polariton branch close to resonance. All these experimental results are well reproduced within the framework of a linear dispersion theory assuming a coherent superposition of the reflectivity and resonant Rayleigh scattering signals with a well-defined relative phase. 相似文献

A detailed experimental study of electron cyclotron resonance (CR) has been carried out at 4.2 K in three modulation-doped GaAs/Al0.3Ga0.7As multiple quantum well samples in fields up to 30 T. A strong avoided-level-crossing splitting of the CR energies due to resonant magnetopolaron effects is observed for all samples near the GaAs reststrahlen region. Resonant splittings in the region of AlAs-like interface phonon modes of the barriers are observed in two samples with narrower well width and smaller doping concentration. The interaction between electrons and the AlAs interface optical phonon modes has been calculated for our specific sample structures in the framework of the memory-function formalism. The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental results, which confirms our assignment of the observed splitting near the AlAs-like phonon region is due to the resonant magnetopolaron interaction of electrons in the wells with AlAs-like interface phonons. 相似文献

This paper discusses the I-V property of the GaAs-based resonant tunnelling structure (RTS) under external uniaxial pressure by photoluminescence studies. Compressive pressure parallel to the [110] direction, whose value is determined by Hooke's law, is imposed on the sample by a helix micrometer. With the increase of the applied external uniaxial compressive pressure, the blue shift and splitting of the luminescence peaks were observed, which have some influence on the I-V curve of RTS from the point of view of the energy gap, and the splitting became more apparent with applied pressure. This paper describes the accepted meaning of the term ’negative resistance’ and its use in the literature, and discusses the features in the previously published data on QTC TM (market name of a metal-polymer composite) that show that the non-linear, hysteretic current voltage characteristics are not caused by Joule heating.
