Scaling of Voice Pleasantness and Acceptability in Tracheoesophageal Speakers

The purpose of this study was (1) to determine the psychophysical character of auditory-perceptual ratings of voice pleasantness (VP) and voice acceptability (VA) for tracheoesophageal (TE) speakers using direct magnitude estimation (DME) and equal-appearing interval (EAI) scaling procedures and (2) to determine the relationship between listeners' ratings of VP and VA. Ten adult listeners judged overall VP and VA from connected speech samples produced by 20 adult male TE speakers. Although results yielded a prothetic continuum for VP and a metathetic continuum for VA, the amount of variance accounted for by a curvilinear model of VP was minimally more than that accounted for by a linear model. Results also revealed a significant relationship between VP and VA (r = 0.939). Findings from this study do not suggest any greater validity associated with VP and VA ratings obtained by the DME than the EAI method. As a result of the significant relationship between these ratings and to the ease of applying EAI scales, it is recommended that VA be used as a current clinical outcome measure. These data illustrate the need to identify attributes that best describe TE speech that are measured appropriately and are clinically useful.     

Multi-decisions rating model: Establishing rescue policies for Regional Drinking Water Companies (PDAMs) in Indonesia

Fresh water is abundant in Indonesia, but only about 20% out of more than 200 million of its population have access to clean water supplied by 306 Regional Drinking Water Companies (PDAMs) around the country. The poor performance of most PDAMs is due to high level of debt, lack of investment, and inefficient operations. On one hand, the PDAMs need to increase its coverage capacity but on the other hand they have been operating under unfavorable regulated tariff policies. A government team involving the Indonesia Water Enterprise Association (PERPAMSI) has developed a multi-criteria model to rate the PDAMs, grouped them based on their scores, and formulated common policies for each group. Unfortunately, the recommended policies do not appear to be specific enough to make them useful. This paper proposes improvements to the original model which used the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) while maintaining the original priority judgments. Model-1 is the AHP representation of the original model, Model-2 is similar to Model-1 with the principle of hierarchic composition satisfied, and Model-3 is a framework for multi-decisions decision making involving clustering the PDAMs based on their business performance. Model-2 did not prove useful for identifying specific group policies that fit the need of every PDAM in a given group. Model-3 enables one to identify a specific policy that is applicable to either all the PDAMs or those grouped as a certain cluster by rating them based on a set of criteria that is relevant to that policy. The results of the three models are evaluated and some examples of using the Model-3 framework to rate the PDAMs, each with a specific policy in mind, are provided.

动用ＢＩＳＯＮ,ＦＤＫＲ和ＤＯＳＥ程序,计算了实验混合堆ＦＥＢ在额定功率下运行一年后装置的第一壁,包层和屏蔽层的远距离维修指标ＲＭＲ值和有关结果。结果表明,需在现有屏蔽设计基础上适当增加铅屏蔽层厚度,才能满足美国核管理委员会的１０ＣＦＲ２０法规规定的辐射安全要求。计算结果可供实验混合堆的工程设计,安全运行及维修操作设计参考。     

A new stroboscopy rating form

A newly developed stroboscopy rating form is presented. The evolution of the new form is discussed by focusing on how problems with another commonly used form led to its development. Interjudge agreement and intrajudge reliability data for the new rating form reveal that the parameters of phase closure, phase symmetry, and phase regularity remain difficult to rate even with the revised rating form.

本文根据吸声评价的国际标准初稿，介绍了从实测的１／３倍频带吸声系数确定吸声性能单值表示的评价方法，以及利用这些单值评价对吸声材料进行分级的方法。
