Enhanced Kerr nonlinearity in a quantized four-level graphene nanostructure

In this paper, a new model is proposed for manipulating the Kerr nonlinearity of right-hand circular probe light in a monolayer of graphene nanostructure. By using the density matrix equations and quantum optical approach, the third-order susceptibility of probe light is explored numerically. It is realized that the enhanced Kerr nonlinearity with zero linear absorption can be provided by selecting the appropriate quantities of controllable parameters, such as Rabi frequency and elliptical parameter of elliptical polarized coupling field. Our results may be useful applications in future all-optical system devices in nanostructures.     

界面生长中断对GaAs (111)衬底上AlGaAs/GaAs量子阱电子自旋寿命的影响

用固源分子束外延技术(SSMBE)在GaAs(111)衬底上,采用不同的界面中断时间生长了多组AlGaAs/GaAs多量子阱样品(MQWs),通过室温发光光谱和时间分辨克尔旋转谱(TRKR)研究了界面生长中断对发光光谱半峰全宽(FWHM)和量子阱中电子自旋弛豫时间(自旋寿命)的影响,发现了自旋寿命随着界面生长中断时间的增加呈现先减小后增加的趋势,此变化趋势与荧光光谱半峰全宽表征的材料质量随中断时间的变化一致,适当的界面生长中断时间能有效的增加GaAs (111)衬底上AlGaAs/GaAs 多量子阱中电子自旋寿命。     

高斯光束通过克尔介质的光强分布研究

以亚当姆预测 校正系统数值计算方法为基础,在同时考虑光束通过克尔介质后的相位和光束线型变化的情况下,利用惠更斯 菲涅尔衍射积分公式,对高斯光束通过克尔介质后的近场和远场的横向光强分布进行了研究.结果表明：当高斯光束通过“薄”介质的出射面时,不仅仅相位发生了变化,而且光强线型分布也不再呈理想的高斯分布,而是有一系列丝状的近高斯分布.光束通过克尔介质后,无论是在近场还是远场,其光束总能量分布都被发散了.结果同时表明：光束通过正克尔介质后的远场光强分布主要集中在中心附近,并逐渐向边缘减弱,而光束通过负克尔介质后远场光束能量主要集中在边缘.     

聚吡咯甲烯/聚乙烯醇薄膜对高斯光束的衍射行为

制备了一种新型有机聚合物（聚吡咯甲烯）与聚乙烯醇的非线性光学复合薄膜,在该样品的激光纵向扫描实验中发现,随着样品相对于高斯光束束腰位置的不同,产生了两种不同结构的同心衍射环,理论分析表明,该现象可以用光克尔效应和热光非线性效应共同作用下的附加相位孔对入射光束的衍射行为解释,从菲涅耳－基尔霍夫衍射积分公式出发,建立了非线性光学介质对高斯光束的衍射模型,通过数值积分,得到了与实验现象符合的计算结果。     

二维周期光子晶格中的非线性Landau-Zener隧穿

在二维周期光子晶格中研究了Kerr型非线性Landau-Zener隧穿. 首先在六方晶系光子晶格中推导出非线性三能级Landau-Zener隧穿模型, 在特殊初值条件下将其转化为非线性二能级模型. 对于三能级隧穿模型, 选择特殊初值, 研究了隧穿率随参数的变化规律. 关键词： 光子晶格 Kerr型非线性 Landau-Zener隧穿     

Feedback controlled periodic states for different kinds of photorefractive nonlinear response

We investigate analytically and numerically the influence of the type of the photorefractive nonlinear response on the periodic states (attractors) which occur during feedback controlled 2W-coupling and correspond to almost 100% diffraction efficiency of the dynamic index grating. In addition to the case of the local response typical, for example, for LiNbO₃ crystals we consider the cases of nonlocal (diffusive) response (BaTiO₃, SBN) and resonant response (DC-biased BSO, BTO, and BGO crystals). It is shown that the conditions for the transition to the periodic states and their apparent characteristics are strongly different for the two limiting cases above. Stress Tensor Fluctuations and Passive Quantum Gravity

The quantum fluctuations of the stress tensor of a quantum field are discussed, as are the resulting space-time metric fluctuations. Passive quantum gravity is an approximation in which gravity is not directly quantized, but fluctuations of the space-time geometry are driven by stress tensor fluctuations. We discuss a decomposition of the stress tensor correlation function into three parts, and consider the physical implications of each part. The operational significance of metric fluctuations and the possible limits of validity of semiclassical gravity are discussed.

Quasi-invariants and generalized Killing vectors-II

We consider here the problem of the existence of a quasi-invariant which is linear in the momenta for Hamiltonians in three degrees of freedom. We show that such quasi-invariants are more constrained in their structure than in the two degrees of freedom case. We also show that some of these quasi-invariants have to be interpreted as ‘pseudo-translations’, i.e., as translations in a non-orthogonal system of coordinates.
