The electron effective mass in GaAs quantum wires has been estimated by using a full dynamical random-phase approximation to examine its properties versus spin polarization, temperature, and carrier density. A decrease of mass with spin polarization is seen. The minority mass increases with the polarization while the majority mass decreases and this behaviour is seen for all densities. A maximal enhancement of mass at moderate temperature around 25 K is also presented. These calculations show a qualitative consistence with results in two-dimensional systems and help to control the electronic transport in quantum wires.  相似文献

We propose an experimental scheme to simulate and observe the Klein tunneling of relativistic Maxwell particles with trapped ions. We explore the scattering dynamics of the pseudospin-one Maxwell particles and demonstrate that the scattered state should be a superposition of a reflection state, a localization state, and a transmission state. The probabilities of these states can be analytically obtained by the approach of Landau-Zener transition. We further show that the Maxwell Hamiltonian and the associated scattering dynamics can be mimicked with two trapped ions. The Maxwell spinors are encoded by three internal states of the first ion, the position and momentum are described by those of the motional modes, and the desired linear potential barrier is built by the second ion.  相似文献

Carbon dots (CDs), as an emerging fluorescent nanomaterial with low toxicity, has been widely applied in various bio‐related fields. However, investigations on their capabilities in guiding osteogenic differentiation are rarely seen, which has great significance in osteoporosis therapy and bone regeneration. Herein, for the first time, a new kind of Mg2+‐doped CDs is facilely synthesized through a one‐step hydrothermal method from metal gluconate salts. The CDs can serve as nanocarrier of Mg2+ ions entering into cells, and the bioessential metal ions subsequently stimulate osteoblastic differentiation by improving alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity and upregulation related mRNA expression. Noteworthy, the raw material has almost negligible performance on osteoblastic differentiation compared to Mg‐CDs, which is due to the ultrasmall sizes of CDs and the efficient uptake by cells. Moreover, benefitting from the fluorescence properties, Mg‐CDs can also be applied as cell labeling agents. This work proposes a new strategy to synthesize multifunctional metal ion‐doped CDs, which might had great potential in serving as promising nanodrugs for bone loss therapy.  相似文献

We show that sums of carefully chosen coincidence rates in a multiphoton interferometry experiment can be simplified by replacing the original unitary scattering matrix with a coset matrix containing 0s. The number and placement of these 0s reduces the complexity of each term in the sum without affecting the original sum of rates. In particular, the evaluation of sums of modulus squared of permanents is shown to turn in some cases into a sum of modulus squared of determinants. The sums of rates are shown to be equivalent to the removal of some optical elements in the interferometer.  相似文献

Hazardous 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) has created serious threats to humans and the environment; therefore, it is highly desirable to develop a facile and practical method for the monitoring of 4-NP in environment and food. Here, a fluorescence method based on modified polyethyleneimine-capped carbon dots (mPEI-CDs) was developed for sensitive and selective determination of 4-NP in water, fruit, and vegetable samples. First, highly fluorescent mPEI-CDs (quantum yield about 40.3%) were easily synthesized via a one-step hydrothermal method by using novel acetic anhydride modified polyethyleneimine (mPEI) and citric acid as precursors. Compared to the unmodified PEI-CDs, the acetic anhydride mPEI-CDs exhibited excellent fluorescent stability in a wider pH range of 4.0–9.0. Under pH 8.0, a selective determination of 4-NP was achieved based on the inner filter effect (IFE) mechanism. After optimization, good linear relationships between fluorescence intensity function (F0-F)/F0 and the concentration of 4-NP were obtained in ranges of 0.5–10 and 10–100 μM, respectively, while efficiently avoiding the interferences from two other nitrophenol isomers, possible coexisting metal cations and anions in samples. Finally, the proposed approach was successfully applied for the determination of 4-NP in water, honey, strawberry, and tomato samples.  相似文献

CuWO_4,as an n-type oxide semiconductor with a bandgap of 2.2 eV,has stimulated enormous interest as a potential broad-spectrum-active photocatalyst for environmental pollution remediations.However,rapid charge recombination greatly hinders its practical applications.Herein,we present a cascaded electron transition pathway in a ternary heterostructure consisting of CdS quantum dots,carbon dots(CDs) and CuWO_4 hollow spheres,which proves to greatly facilitate the photogenerated electron-hole separation,and eventually boosts the degradation efficiency of phenol and congo red by 100% and 46%compared to bare CuWO_4.The enhanced performance of the CuWO_4/CdS/CDs heterostructure mainly originates from the unidirectional electron migration from CdS to CuWO_4 and then to the organics through CDs.This work elucidates the electron transfer kinetics in multi-phase system and provides a new design paradigm for optimizing the properties of CuWO_4 based photocatalysts.  相似文献

Bell’s theorem is purported to demonstrate the impossibility of a local “hidden variable” theory underpinning quantum mechanics. It relies on the well-known assumption of ‘locality’, and also on a little-examined assumption called ‘statistical independence’ (SI). Violations of this assumption have variously been thought to suggest “backward causation”, a “conspiracy” on the part of nature, or the denial of “free will”. It will be shown here that these are spurious worries, and that denial of SI simply implies nonlocal correlation between spacelike degrees of freedom. Lorentz-invariant theories in which SI does not hold are easily constructed: two are exhibited here. It is conjectured, on this basis, that quantum-mechanical phenomena may be modeled by a local theory after all. This paper is dedicated to the memory of John A. Wheeler.  相似文献

Aqueous dispersion of 4-8 nm size stable ZnO quantum dots (QDs) exhibiting luminescence in the visible region have been synthesized by a simple solution growth technique at room temperature. Silica has been used as capping agent to control the particle size as well as to achieve uniform dispersion of QDs in aqueous medium. X-ray diffractometer (XRD) analysis reveals formation phase pure ZnO particles having wurzite (hexagonal) structure. Atomic force microscope (AFM) images show that the particles are spherical in shape, having average crystalline sizes ∼4, 5.5 and 8 nm for samples prepared at pH values of 10, 12 and 14, respectively. From the optical absorption studies, the band gap energy of QDs is found to be blue shifted as compared to bulk ZnO (3.36 eV) due to the quantum confinement effect and is consistent with the band gap calculated by using effective-mass approximation model. The photoluminescence (PL) observed in these QDs has been attributed to the presence of defect centers.  相似文献
