We review and extend the composite fermion theory for semiconductor quantum dots in high magnetic fields. The mean-field model of composite fermions is unsatisfactory for the qualitative physics at high angular momenta. Extensive numerical calculations demonstrate that the microscopic CF theory, which incorporates interactions between composite fermions, provides an excellent qualitative and quantitative account of the quantum dot ground state down to the largest angular momenta studied, and allows systematic improvements by inclusion of mixing between composite fermion Landau levels (called Λ levels).  相似文献

The expansion structure of a CI vector as combination of excitations from a model-space reference determinant is investigated. It is shown that between the linear and the exponential expansions there is a relation which is similar to the single-reference case, if the internal excitations are adsorbed into the reference vector. Moreover, expansions with respect to different determinants are related by a set of linear equations. By using these two properties, a State-Specific Coupled-Cluster formalism is proposed. By analyzing trajectories of solid hydrogen tracers in superfluid 4He, we identify tens of thousands of individual reconnection events between quantized vortices. We characterize the dynamics by the minimum separation distance δ(t) between the two reconnecting vortices both before and after the events. Applying dimensional arguments, this separation has been predicted to behave asymptotically as δ(t)≈A(κ|tt0|)1/2, where κ=h/m is the quantum of circulation. The major finding of the experiments and their analysis is strong support for this asymptotic form with κ as the dominant controlling feature, although there are significant event to event fluctuations. At the three-parameter level the dynamics may be about equally well-fit by two modified expressions: (a) an arbitrary power-law expression of the form δ(t)=B|tt0|α and (b) a correction-factor expression δ(t)=A(κ|tt0|)1/2(1+c|tt0|). The measured frequency distribution of α is peaked at the predicted value α=0.5, although the half-height values are α=0.35 and 0.80 and there is marked variation in all fitted quantities. Accepting (b) the amplitude A has mean values of 1.24±0.01 and half height values of 0.8 and 1.6 while the c distribution is peaked close to c=0 with a half-height range of −0.9 s−1 to 1.5 s−1. In light of possible physical interpretations we regard the correction-factor expression (b), which attributes the observed deviations from the predicted asymptotic form to fluctuations in the local environment and in boundary conditions, as best describing our experimental data. The observed dynamics appear statistically time-reversible, which suggests that an effective equilibrium has been established in quantum turbulence on the time scales (≤0.25 s) investigated. We discuss the impact of reconnection on velocity statistics in quantum turbulence and, as regards classical turbulence, we argue that forms analogous to (b) could well provide an alternative interpretation of the observed deviations from Kolmogorov scaling exponents of the longitudinal structure functions.  相似文献

We study quantum information transmission over multiparty quantum channel. In particular, we show an equivalence of different capacity notions and provide a multiletter characterization of a capacity region for a general quantum channel with k senders and m receivers. We study the magnetotransport of the interacting QD system in a magnetic field using the numerical method of embedded-cluster approximation (ECA). The spin-resolved conductances display different magnetic field dependences for different transport regimes. Through comparison of conductance polarization, the mixed-valence regime shows the largest polarization. The spin-resolved conductance as a function of the ratio between the magnetic field and Kondo temperature H/TK is found to exhibit an approximate universal behavior in the Kondo regime. We also investigate conductance dependence on interaction strength and find interesting inversion of sign of polarization in some cases.  相似文献

We propose two schemes for generating a four-atom cluster state in a thermal cavity. With the assistant of a strong classical field the photon-number-dependent parts in the effective Hamiltonian are canceled. Thus the schemes are insensitive to the thermal field. The schemes can also be used to generate the cluster state for the trapped ions in thermal motion.  相似文献

Combining high and low probability densities in intensity hybrids  , we study some of their properties in double-slit setups. In particular, we connect to earlier results on beam attenuation techniques in neutron interferometry and study the effects of very small transmission factors, or very low counting rates, respectively, at one of the two slits. We use a “superclassical” modeling procedure which we have previously shown to produce predictions identical with those of standard quantum theory. Although in accordance with the latter, we show that there are previously unexpected new effects in intensity hybrids for transmission factors below a?10−4a?104, which can eventually be observed with the aid of weak measurement techniques. We denote these as quantum sweeper effects, which are characterized by the bunching together of low counting rate particles within very narrow spatial domains. We give an explanation of this phenomenology by the circumstance that in reaching down to ever weaker channel intensities, the nonlinear nature of the probability density currents becomes ever more important, a fact which is generally not considered–although implicitly present–in standard quantum mechanics.  相似文献
