An efficient one-pot multicomponent approach to 5-amino-7-aryl-8-nitrothiazolo[3,2-a]pyridines

A series of thiazolo[3,2-a]pyridines have been prepared using a multicomponent reaction between aromatic aldehydes, 2-nitromethylenethiazolidine and nitriles containing an active methylene group (malononitrile, ethyl 2-cyanoacetate and 2-phenylsulfonylacetonitrile) in the presence of Et₃N under mild conditions with high yields. One of the compounds shows promising anticancer activity across a range of cancer cell lines.     

Acid-induced conformational alteration of cis-preferential aromatic amides bearing N-methyl-N-(2-pyridyl) moiety

A series of cis-preferential aromatic N-methyl amides was designed and synthesized, and acid-induced conformational alteration of these compounds was investigated by means of NMR measurements in solution and X-ray crystal structure analysis. Compounds with a terminal N-methyl-N-(2-pyridyl) amide unit showed acid-induced conformational change from cis to trans, while those with a terminal N-methyl-2-pyridinecarboxamide unit showed a change of the carbonyl orientation from anti to syn with retention of cis conformation.     

Total synthesis of haminol A: an analysis of vinylpyridine metathesis reactivity

The total synthesis of haminol A has been completed featuring a masked-alkene metathesis reaction followed by bis-acyloxysulfone elimination to install the 1,3,8-triene subunit. During the course of our synthesis, the metathesis reactivity of 3-vinylpyridine was evaluated and our data suggest the rapid formation of a ruthenium pyridylalkylidene that no longer participates in productive metathesis. A chemotaxis assay using Caenorhabditis elegans demonstrated that haminol A produced an avoidance response from this organism.     

Two New Constituents from Torricellia tiliifolia Stem Barks

A new iridoid, torrilliolide ( 1 ), and a new pyridine alkaloid, torricelline ( 2 ), were isolated from the stem barks of Torricellia tiliifolia. Their structures were determined by analysis of their spectroscopic data. Both compounds exhibited cytotoxicity against Spodoptera litura cell line.     

纯钛电极上的表面增强拉曼光谱研究

采用机械粗糙、电化学氧化还原、化学刻蚀等方法对纯钛电极表面进行粗糙,在钛基底上获得了表面增强拉曼光谱(SERS)信号。初步的实验结果表明,采用机械粗糙和电化学氧化还原方法能够获得具有一定粗糙度的电极表面,但是该表面并不具有SERS活性。而采用氢氟酸化学刻蚀方法能够获得具有SERS活性的表面,并且成功检测到吡啶分子的表面增强拉曼信号。实验尝试了在不同条件下进行刻蚀,对酸的刻蚀浓度、刻蚀时间、外接电位等影响因素作了研究,结果发现基底的SERS活性随氢氟酸浓度增大而出现最佳条件,即氢氟酸浓度0.33 Wt%,刻蚀时间为5 min时的拉曼信号最好。实验以0.01 mol·L-1吡啶为探针分子,0.1 mol·L-1 KCl为电解质,在开路电位下成功地观察了钛电极上的表面增强拉曼光谱。

First total synthesis of 3-aza-11-thia-1,3,5(10)-trieno steroids

The first total synthesis of 3-aza-11-thia-1,3,5(10)-trieno steroids was achieved via an intramolecular Diels-Alder cycloaddition of o-quinodimethanes as the key step.     

Temporal evolution of Raman intensities on surface-enhanced Raman scattering active copper and gold electrodes at negative potentials

The effect of a roughening procedure on surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) intensity of pyridine at copper and gold electrodes subjected to negative potential has been investigated. Among four procedures tested for a copper electrode the one consisting of electrochemical activation in a solution of LiCl and CuCl₂ resulted in the most stable and effective surface. It was proved that the presence of pyridine during the pretreatment procedure caused a very fast, irreversible decay of SERS intensity for both copper and gold electrodes. Quite stable, at least at room temperatures, gold surfaces were obtained by oxidation-reduction cycles activation in KCl solution.     

Hydrogen bonding networks controllable by the substitution position of tetrathiafulvalene on the pyridine ring

Because of the effect of pyridine on the substituent position on the TTF group, TTF derivatives exhibit different assembly structures at the interface, which will be of great significance to the construction of functional nanostructures from the molecular design point of view.

Summary. Two hitherto unreported pyrimidine annelated heterocycles were synthesized from 6-cyclopent-2-enyl-5-hydroxy-1,3-dimethylpyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione and 5-cyclopent-2-enyl-6-hydroxy-1,3-dimethylpyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione by reaction with pyridine hydrotribromide or hexamethylenetetramine hydrotribromide.
