The phase‐separation behavior of poly(methyl methacrylate)/poly(α‐methyl styrene‐co‐acrylonitrile) (PMMA/α‐MSAN) blends upon heating was studied through dynamic rheological measurements and time‐resolved small angle light scattering, as a function of temperatures and heating rates. The spinodal temperatures could be obtained by an examination of the anomalous critical viscoelastic properties in the vicinity of phase‐separation induced by the enhanced concentration fluctuation on the basis of the mean field theory. It is found that the dependence of the critical temperatures determined by dynamic rheological measurements and small angle light scattering on heating rates both deviates obviously from the linearity, even at the very low heating rates. Furthermore, the cloud‐point curves decrease gradually with the decrease of heating rates and present the trend of approaching Tgs of the blends. The nonlinear dependence is in consistence with that extracted from the isothermal phase‐separation behavior as reported in our previous paper. It is suggested that the equilibrium phase‐separation temperature could be hardly established by the linear extrapolating to zero in the plotting of cloud points versus heating rates. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Lamellar reflections in small‐angle X‐ray and neutron scattering patterns of uniaxially drawn semicrystalline polymers appear to fall on elliptical or hyperbolic arcs. We attribute this to a 3D lattice of tilted lamellae, a macrolattice. Affine deformation of this lattice, such as during uniaxial draw, moves and spreads the reflections along elliptical arcs, and nonaffine deformation, such as during rolling, moves and spreads the reflections along an arc that deviates from an ellipse. Discrete reflections are the product of two functions: the elliptical trace that is the Fourier transform of the affinely deformed lattice and the radial streak that is the Fourier transform of the individual lamella in the reciprocal space. Four‐point patterns are obtained if the lamellar‐surface normal is tilted away from the fiber‐axis, and two‐point patterns if it is not. This model is used to discuss the transformation between four‐ and two‐point patterns and other changes in lamellar morphology that occur during drawing and annealing of oriented semicrystalline polymers. The deformation of the macrolattice of crystalline lamellae, need not be correlated to the tilt of the lamellae. The tilt of the lamellae is shown to be important. It reflects the cross‐sectional area mismatch at the lamellar surface between crystalline stems and amorphous chains segments, and this indicates the internal strain in the interfibrillar amorphous regions. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A differential pump assembly is introduced which can provide a windowless transition between the full atmospheric pressure of an in‐air sample environment and the high‐vacuum region of a synchrotron radiation beamline, while providing a clear aperture of approximately 1 mm to pass through the X‐ray beam from a modern third‐generation synchrotron radiation source. This novel pump assembly is meant to be used as a substitute for an exit vacuum window on synchrotron beamlines, where the existence of such a window would negatively impact the coherent nature of the X‐ray beam or would introduce parasitic scattering, distorting weak scattering signals from samples under study. It is found that the length of beam pipe necessary to reduce atmospheric pressure to below 10 mbar is only about 130 mm, making the expected photon transmission for hard X‐rays through this pipe competitive with that of a regular Be beamline window. This result is due to turbulent flow dominating the first pumping stage, providing a mechanism of strong gas conductance limitation, which is further enhanced by introducing artificial surface roughness in the pipe. Successive reduction of pressure through the transitional flow regime into the high‐vacuum region is accomplished over a length of several meters, using beam pipes of increasing diameter. While the pump assembly has not been tested with X‐rays, possible applications are discussed in the context of coherent and small‐angle scattering.  相似文献

针对利用周期极化晶体实现的抽运光角度调谐准相位匹配(QPM)光学参量振荡器(OPO)进行了系统的理论分析,给出了描述QPM OPO中抽运光旋转角与三波波长关系的精确公式和近轴公式.研究发现,对信号光单谐振的情况而言,抽运光与空闲光沿晶体x轴的同侧出射,而对空闲光单谐振而言,抽运光与信号光沿晶体x轴的同侧出射.另外,信号光单谐振下信号光与空闲光间的夹角要大于空闲光单谐振下两者间的夹角.更重要的是,信号光单谐振时的波长调谐速度也较空闲光单谐振时的大. 关键词: 准相位匹配 空闲光单谐振光学参量振荡器 抽运光角度调谐 调谐速度  相似文献

In this work, two different methods for particle characterization, namely focused beam reflectance and small angle static light scattering, are quantitatively compared. The results are presented in the form of moment ratios of the particle size distribution, i.e., the number weighted diameter, D1/0, and the volume weighted diameter, D4/3, for a broad range of particle size distributions ranging from 20 to 400 μm. Various aqueous dispersions including narrow, broad, and bimodal particle size distributions of spherical shaped ceramic beads were used in the comparison. It was found that the moment ratios obtained by focused beam reflectance measurements and small angle static light scattering correlate well, in the case of spherical particles. Furthermore, it was found that the D1/0 values obtained by focused beam reflectance measurements are more sensitive to the presence of a small fraction of fine particles in a bimodal distribution than those obtained by small angle static light scattering.  相似文献

为了既节省稀有昂贵的冰洲石晶体材料,又尽量提高偏光棱镜的透射比,设计了一种冰洲石晶体与光学玻璃组合的方法。叙述以布儒斯特角入射来提高偏光棱镜e光透射比的设计方案。该棱镜可用甘油或有机硅胶将FK 2玻璃与冰洲石晶体胶合而成。理论分析和实验测试表明,该棱镜的透射比高于96%,消光比优于10-5,在一定情况下可以取代纯冰洲石晶体材料的偏光棱镜。  相似文献

应用经典的Moffatt解,通过引入接触线特征参数λ给出接触线上的粘性剪切应力,导出动态接触角和接触线移动速度的关系,尝试解释文献中两种不同测量方法所得静态接触角不一致的现象,理论所揭示的动态接触角和接触线移动速度的关系曲线和以往文献中的曲线形式基本一致,通过和Hoffman试验数据的比较发现,λ与流体性质无关,是表征固壁性质的特征参数,并初步探讨了λ的数理意义。  相似文献
