本文讨论了矩阵方程AXAH=B的Hermite解及其最佳逼近的正交投影迭代法,证明了算法的收敛性,得到收敛速率的估计式.通过数值试验也检验了算法的有效性.     

A modified projection method with a new direction for solving variational inequalities

In this paper, we propose a new projection method for solving variational inequality problems, which can be viewed as an improvement of the method of Li et al. [M. Li, L.Z. Liao, X.M. Yuan, A modified projection method for co-coercive variational inequality, European Journal of Operational Research 189 (2008) 310-323], by adopting a new direction. Under the same assumptions as those in Li et al. (2008), we establish the global convergence of the proposed algorithm. Some preliminary computational results are reported, which illustrated that the new method is more efficient than the method of Li et al. (2008).     

Shape and topology optimization for elliptic boundary value problems using a piecewise constant level set method

The aim of this paper is to propose a variational piecewise constant level set method for solving elliptic shape and topology optimization problems. The original model is approximated by a two-phase optimal shape design problem by the ersatz material approach. Under the piecewise constant level set framework, we first reformulate the two-phase design problem to be a new constrained optimization problem with respect to the piecewise constant level set function. Then we solve it by the projection Lagrangian method. A gradient-type iterative algorithm is presented. Comparisons between our numerical results and those obtained by level set approaches show the effectiveness, accuracy and efficiency of our algorithm.

中国红豆杉细胞紫杉醇合成期特异表达新基因TS1-FL的部分cDNA克隆

采用mRNA差异显示技术(DDRT—PCR)比较了悬浮培养的中国红豆杉细胞合成紫杉醇前后的基因表达差异,并从紫杉醇合成期细胞中分离出一个特异表达的cDNA克隆TS1．TS1长度为638bp,序列相似性分析结果表明它代表一新基因序列(Genbank登录号：AF426429),将此新基因命名为TS1-FL．开放读框分析结果表明Tsl拥有一个不完整的开放读框,蛋白质同源性检索没有发现与TS1翻译序列有较大同源性的蛋白质．对此基因的进一步研究可揭示它在紫杉醇生物合成中所扮演的角色．     

Banach spaces with projectional skeletons

A projectional skeleton in a Banach space is a σ-directed family of projections onto separable subspaces, covering the entire space. The class of Banach spaces with projectional skeletons is strictly larger than the class of Plichko spaces (i.e. Banach spaces with a countably norming Markushevich basis). We show that every space with a projectional skeleton has a projectional resolution of the identity and has a norming space with similar properties to Σ-spaces. We characterize the existence of a projectional skeleton in terms of elementary substructures, providing simple proofs of known results concerning weakly compactly generated spaces and Plichko spaces. We prove a preservation result for Plichko Banach spaces, involving transfinite sequences of projections. As a corollary, we show that a Banach space is Plichko if and only if it has a commutative projectional skeleton.

Minimum Distance Between the Faces of Two Convex Polyhedra: A Sufficient Condition

The problem of finding the Euclidean distance between two convex polyhedra can be reduced to the combinatorial optimization problem of finding the minimum distance between their faces. This paper presents a global optimality criterion for this problem. An algorithm (QLDPA) for the fast computation of the distance between convex and bounded polyhedra is proposed as an application of it. Computer experiments show its fast performance, especially when the total number of vertices is large.     

Effects of rubbing angle on maximum transmittance of in-plane switching liquid crystal display

Measurements of the maximum transmittance of an in-plane switching liquid crystal display showed that it increases as rubbing angle is increased from 10 to 20°. This dependence was analysed in terms of the local variation of electric field intensity between electrodes, which in turn makes liquid crystal at various positions between the electrodes rotate to different angles. The local variation of electric field becomes prominent, especially in the case that the distance between the electrodes is much larger than the cell gap or electrode width.
