Crystal Structures of the Potassium and Silver Salts of Nitroform

The solid state structures of three nitroformate (NF) salts were determined using single crystal X‐ray crystallography. The NF anion was found to be a non‐planar moiety which adopts either the commonly observed C_2v conformation or distorted propeller conformation (D₃) in the case of the silver salts, or, a C₂ conformation in the case of the potassium salt. This latter C₂ conformation has been uniquely observed for potassium nitroformate. All structures exhibit cation‐anion interactions that influence the structure of the anion. The ¹³C and ¹⁴N NMR spectra of the NF anion show broad singlets, which indicates the equivalence of the nitro groups in solution within the NMR time‐scale. In addition, the vibrational and mass spectra of potassium nitroformate and silver nitroformate monohydrate were recorded. Furthermore, the gaseous decomposition products of potassium nitroformate at 25 °C were detected using IR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.     

Active transport of Na + and K + through animal cell membranes

The transport of Na⁺ out of the cell and K⁺ into the cell against a concentration gradient is catalyzed by a (Na⁺ + K⁺)-activated ATPase. The way in which the cations pass through the cell membrane has not yet been elucidated. Studies on the ATP hydrolysis revealed a Na⁺-dependent phosphorylation of the enzyme protein; the conformation of the enzyme also appears to change. The energy required for transport of the cations against their concentration gradients is probably provided by K⁺-dependent hydrolysis of the enzyme-bound phosphate. The enzyme can synthesize ATP from inorganic phosphate and ADP on reversal of the cation concentration gradient. By keeping the enzyme in a particular conformation, the cardiac glycoside ouabain specifically inhibits the Na⁺ pump.     

A Sensitive Spectrophotometric Determination of Nitrite in Water and Soil

A highly sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of nitrite in water and soil has been developed. The reaction of nitrite with acidified potassium iodide to liberate iodine which oxidizes leuco‐crystal violet (LCV) to form crystal violet having absorption maxima at 590 nm forms the bases of this method. In aqueous medium the system obeys Beer's law in the range of 0.1 to 1.0 μg per 25 mL (0.004–0.04 ppm), while in an extractive system the range is 0.025–0.25 μg in 100 mL (0.00025–0.0025 ppm). The molar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity were found to be 1.54 × 10⁶ 1 mol^?1 cm^?1 and 44 pg cm^?2, respectively.     

离子色谱法测定芳香族聚酰胺纤维中硫、钠、钾、钙、镁

应用离子色谱法(IC)测定芳香族聚酰胺纤维中硫、钠、钾、镁及钙。测定阴离子时,试样置于铂坩埚中用艾斯卡试剂覆盖,置于马弗炉中,450℃灼烧1 h使有机物碳化,取出,稍冷,再加少许艾斯卡试剂,升温至850℃灼烧1．5 h,使有机物完全分解。坩埚中的熔块经冷却后用去离子水浸出,用18 mmol·L-1碳酸钠及17 mmol·L-1碳酸氢钠混合溶液定容后,用IC法的阴离子方式测定。用IC法测定阳离子时,试样置于铂坩埚中,不必加艾斯卡试剂,置于马弗炉直接灼烧至有机物完全分解。残渣用1 mol·L-1硝酸或1 mol·L-1盐酸超声波处理,用去离子水洗涤坩埚并定容至100 mL,按所测得峰面积值从标准曲线查得其含量。用此方法测定SO42-,Na+,K+,Mg2+及 Ca2+的检出限依次为0．02,0．25,0．25,0．70及0．80 mg·L-1。     

高效液相色谱法和硫氰酸钾滴定法检测煤中氯的比较研究

比较了测定煤中氯的高效液相色谱(HPLC)法和硫氰酸钾滴定法。以密闭氧弹燃烧或艾氏卡剂熔融分解样品，分别以高效液相色谱法和硫氰酸钾滴定法测定煤中氯，通过对国家标准物质GBW11118、GBW11119、GBW11120分析结果的比较及t检验，表明两方法无显著性差异。     

ICP-AES测定邻苯二甲酸氢钾-氢氧化钠作用下土壤中重金属全量及形态分析

空白土壤作为质量控制样品,采用邻苯二甲酸氢钾-氢氧化钠进行处理土壤样品为对照,用HNO₃-HF-HClO₄混酸对土壤样品进行消化,运用等离子体发射光谱仪(ICP-AES)测定了提取处理后土壤样品中Mo, Pb, As, Hg, Cr, Cd, Zn, Cu, Ni的全量以及酸可提取态、氧化物结合态、有机结合态三种化学形态的含量。获知不同pH的邻苯二甲酸氢钾-氢氧化钠缓冲溶液对土壤中重金属全量及形态转化作用的影响。结果表明：除Pb和Zn外,投加不同pH邻苯二甲酸氢钾-氢氧化钠缓冲溶液对土壤中重金属全量的消解和测定有促进作用。邻苯二甲酸氢钾-氢氧化钠缓冲溶液对土壤中Cr, Cu, Hg, Pb的酸可提取态、对土壤中As, Hg, Pb, Zn的氧化结合态、对土壤中As和Hg的有机结合态的转化有促进作用。在pH 5.8时,Cu和Hg的酸可提取态的含量最大值分别为2.180和0.632 mg·kg-1;在pH 6.2时,Pb的氧化结合态的含量最大值为27.792 mg·kg-1;在pH 6.0时,Hg的有机结合态含量最大值为4.715 mg·kg-1。     

On the existence of ‘glycine barium nitrate potassium nitrate’ crystal

It is proved that a so called novel nonlinear optical glycine barium nitrate potassium nitrate single crystal grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique by Ravishankar et al. (Optik, 2013) is actually the well-known γ-glycine crystal.     

Influence of an Oxidising Impurity on Preparation of 2-Lithio-1,3-dithiane: Isolation of bis[2-d,3-Dithianyl)]methanol

Bis-dithianylalkanols and dimers are formed in preparation of 2-lithio-1,3-dithianes due to the presence of oxidising impurity in n-BuLi (perhaps n-BuOOLi).     

Syntheses and structural characterization of New Tl + and K + complexes of 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid (HDNB), [Tl(μ-DNB)] n and [K(μ-DNB)(μ-HDNB)] n

Two new Tl⁺ and K⁺ complexes of 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid (HDNB), [Tl(μ-DNB)] _n and [K(μ-DNB)(μ-HDNB)] _n have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, ¹H NMR and ¹³C NMR spectroscopy. Determination of the structure of the [K(μ-DNB)(μ-HDNB)] _n and [Tl(μ-DNB)] _n by X-ray crystallography shows that there are nine coordinate K atoms (KO₉) and eight coordinate Tl atoms (TlO₈). The [Tl(μ-DNB)] _n and [K(μ-DNB)(μ-HDNB)] _n complexes are 2D and 3D coordination polymers, respectively.     

An active and selective heterogeneous catalytic system for Michael addition

Potassium fluoride doped natural zeolite was found to be an efficient and selective solid base catalyst for 1,4-Michael addition. The catalyst is easily prepared and the workup procedure simplified by simple filtration.All products were obtained in high yields as well as short reaction times.
