Summary. Transparent TiO2 films with a high photodegradation activity towards an azo dye in aqueous solution were prepared by sol–gel processing. Films
on soda–lime glass supports protected with a thin silica barrier layer exhibited better crystallization and monodisperse nanoparticles,
higher absorption of light below 370 nm, and higher photocatalytic activity than those films deposited on bare glass supports
proving the detrimental effect of interdiffused sodium ions on the development of the anatase nanostructure. The effect of
substrate was more pronounced in thinner films (300 nm) than in thicker ones (1200 nm), which were achieved by adding a template

Summary A porous polymer resin loaded with hydrous zirconium oxide (Zr-gel) was evaluated as a stationary phase for the liquid chromatographic separation of disubstituted aromatic compounds. The prepared Zr-gel was used to separate disubstituted phenols andortho-substituted benzoic acid derivatives in reversed-phase mode. The retention time of catechol was greater than those of other disubstituted phenols; this implies that the Zr-gel has specificity for the phenolic hydroxyl group. The retention behavior ofortho-substituted benzoic acid derivatives on the Zr-gel was also evaluated in reversedphase mode using buffer. Phthalic acid was specifically retained in the vicinity of pH 6.0, which has been regarded as the equal adsorbic point. Similar behavior was also observed for salicylic acid, although the retention time of salicylic acid was less than that of phthalic acid. It seems that the specific retention behavior of hydrous zirconium oxide is a result of complexation with ligands such as hydroxyl and carboxyl groups. The results of this study have revealed that the retention mechanism of hydrous zirconium oxide is a combination of ion exchange and interaction based on complexation with ligands. 相似文献

Through the sol–gel process, using the so-called neutral amine route, spherical particles of 1:1 zirconia–titania were synthesized from zirconium(IV) and titanium(IV) butoxides as well as 1,12-diaminododecane as precursor species. The obtained product exhibited a hexagonal structure, as determinated by X-ray diffraction data. The obtained material was also characterized by thermogravimetry, differential scanning calorimetry, infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and surface area measurements. Summary A new expression which permits the prediction of the net retention volumes in gas chromatography with column packings of coated
porous polymers is reported. The porous polymers Chromosorb 101 and Chromosorb 102 were used as supports and squalane, Ethofat
and Carbowax 20M as stationary phases at three different column temperatures of 80°C, 100°C and 150°C. Several organic compounds
of various polarity were used as test compounds and the net retention volumes, VNtheor, have been calculated according to this new expression. The VNtheor values were compared with the experimental net retention volumes, VNexp, and it was found that the difference between these two values is dependent on the type of compound and column packing. Summary Poly(methyloctylsiloxane) (PMOS), sorbed into the pores of HPLC silica particles by solvent evaporation, can function as a
useful stationary phase for reversed-phase chromatography. The present work addresses the question of how the PMOS is distributed
in the pores. Measurements of the surface area (BET, N2) of a series of partially loaded samples (0–40% PMOS, m/m) using a typical batch of HPLC silica (10 μm irregular particles
with 6 nm pores) show that the specific surface area of the samples decreases linearly with the specific loading (mass of
PMOS per gram of silica). This result is not consistent with a “film” model in which the PMOS is deposited uniformly on the
pore walls, but is consistent with a model in which long segmented “plugs” of PMOS are deposited within the pore system.

The corrosion and passivation of Zn powder particles dispersed in a paste electrode immersed in 0.5 M Na2SO4 and 5×10–3 M Na2HPO4 solutions were studied mainly by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The role played by diffusion in the mechanism of
anodic oxidation of zinc powder particles has been shown. It was demonstrated that the anodic reactionof Zn powder in neutral
or near neutral media involves at least two adsorbed intermediates. By simulating the porous structure of the electrode, some
information about porous nature of zinc electrode could be extracted.

A series of carbon-covered titania (CCT) were prepared via pyrolysis of sucrose highly dispersed on titania surface in flowing
N2. The samples were characterized by XRD, BET, DTA-TG, UV—Vis, and their photocatalytic properties were evaluated with two
model pollutants, methylene blue (MB) and rhodamine B (RB), at room temperature. The effect of carbon content on photocatalytic
activity of the C/TiO2 composite was investigated. It was found that the effect of carbon content is different for different pollutants or different
light sources. For three tested samples, under UV illumination CCT01 has the highest activity for MB photocatalytic degradation,
while in the case of RB, CCT02 is the most active photocatalyst. Under visible light illumination, CCT005 has the highest
activity for both MB and RB photocatalytic degradation.
