Research into extended porous materials such as metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and porous organic frameworks (POFs), as well as the analogous metal‐organic polyhedra (MOPs) and porous organic cages (POCs), has blossomed over the last decade. Given their chemical and structural variability and notable porosity, MOFs have been proposed as adsorbents for industrial gas separations and also as promising filler components for high‐performance mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs). Research in this area has focused on enhancing the chemical compatibility of the MOF and polymer phases by judiciously functionalizing the organic linkers of the MOF, modifying the MOF surface chemistry, and, more recently, exploring how particle size, morphology, and distribution enhance separation performance. Other filler materials, including POFs, MOPs, and POCs, are also being explored as additives for MMMs and have shown remarkable anti‐aging performance and excellent chemical compatibility with commercially available polymers. This Review briefly outlines the state‐of‐the‐art in MOF‐MMM fabrication, and the more recent use of POFs and molecular additives. 相似文献

Despite great interests in using zwitterionic polymers for membrane surface modification to enhance antifouling properties, there lacks fundamental understanding of the relationship between polymer structure and water/salt separation properties. In this study, two series of zwitterionic polymers were prepared from sulfobetaine methacrylate and 2‐methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine. Both are crosslinked by poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA). These copolymers were thoroughly characterized in terms of sol‐gel fraction, density, glass transition temperature, contact angle, water and salt transport properties, and pure‐gas permeability. Interestingly, the zwitterionic polymers exhibit water sorption and permeability similar to noncharged poly(ethylene glycol)‐based materials. These zwitterionic polymers exhibit lower NaCl diffusivity and permeability and thus higher water/NaCl selectivity than the non‐charged PEG‐based materials at similar water volume fractions, demonstrating their promise for membrane surface modification for desalination and wastewater treatment. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An iron‐embedded porous carbon material (MIL‐53‐C) was fabricated by the direct carbonization of MIL‐53. The MIL‐53‐C possesses a high surface area and good magnetic behavior. The structure, morphology, magnetic property, and porosity of the MIL‐53‐C were studied by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, vibrating sample magnetometry, and N2 adsorption. With the use of MIL‐53‐C as the magnetic solid‐phase extraction adsorbent, a simple and efficient method was developed for the magnetic solid‐phase extraction of three hormones from water and human urine samples before high‐performance liquid chromatography with UV detection. The developed method exhibits a good linear response in the range of 0.02–100 ng/mL for water and 0.5–100 ng/mL for human urine samples , respectively. The limit of detection (S/N = 3) for the analytes was 0.005–0.01 ng/mL for water sample and 0.1–0.3 ng/mL for human urine sample. The limit of quantification (S/N = 10) of the analytes were in the range of 0.015–0.030 and 0.3–0.9 ng/mL, respectively. 相似文献

Preparation and evaluation of 3 m open tubular capillary columns with a zwitterionic polymeric porous layer for liquid chromatography 下载免费PDF全文
A 3 m zwitterionic polymeric porous layer open tubular column (3 m × 25 μm id × 375 μm od) with a polymeric porous layer thickness of 4 μm was fabricated by the copolymerization of [2‐(methacryloyloxy)ethyl] dimethyl‐(3‐sulfopropyl) ammonium hydroxide and N,N’‐methylenebis(acrylamide). The effects of the diameter of the capillary, reaction temperature, and polymerization time on the preparation of the open tubular column were investigated. Characterized by scanning electron microscopy, the zwitterionic layer was observed to be rough and throughout the fused‐silica capillary homogenously, which increased the phase ratio. The separation of neutral, basic, and acidic compounds demonstrates the strong hydrophilicity of the poly[2‐(methacryloyloxy)ethyl] dimethyl‐(3‐sulfopropyl) ammonium hydroxide coating. In addition, the poly[2‐(methacryloyloxy) ethyl] dimethyl‐(3‐sulfopropyl) ammonium hydroxide porous layer open tubular column was applied for the analysis of flavonoids from the rootstalk of licorice, revealing the potential in separating complex samples. The relative standard deviation of retention time for run‐to‐run (n = 5), day‐to‐day (n = 3), and column‐to‐column (n = 3) of toluene, N,N‐dimethylformamide, formamide, and thiourea were below 1.2%, exhibiting good repeatability. 相似文献

Amine‐Appended Hierarchical Ca‐A Zeolite for Enhancing CO2/CH4 Selectivity of Mixed‐Matrix Membranes 下载免费PDF全文
An amine‐appended hierarchical Ca‐A zeolite that can selectively capture CO2 was synthesized and incorporated into inexpensive membrane polymers, in particular polyethylene oxide and Matrimid, to design mixed‐matrix membranes with high CO2/CH4 selectivities. Binary mixture permeation testing reveals that amine‐appended mesoporous Ca‐A is highly effective in improving CO2/CH4 selectivity of polymeric membranes. In particular, the CO2/CH4 selectivity of the polyethylene oxide membrane increases from 15 to 23 by incorporating 20 wt % amine‐appended Ca‐A zeolite. Furthermore, the formation of filler/polymer interfacial defects, which is typically found in glassy polymer‐zeolite pairs, is inhibited owing to the interaction between the amine groups on the external surface of zeolites and polymer chains. Our results suggest that the amine‐appended hierarchial Ca‐A, which was utilized in membrane fabrication for the first time, is a good filler material for fabricating a CO2‐selective mixed‐matrix membrane with defect‐free morphology. 相似文献

Molecular organic cages as shape-persistent organic molecules with permanent and accessible cavities have attracted a lot of interest because of their importance as host-guest systems. Herein, we report a chiral porous organic cage (POC) CC9 diluted with a polysiloxane OV-1701 to fabricate a CC9-coated capillary column, which was used for the high-resolution gas chromatographic separation of organic compounds, including positional isomers and racemates. On the CC9-coated capillary column, a large number of racemic compounds such as chiral alcohols, esters, ethers and epoxides can be resolved without derivatization. By comparing the chiral recognition ability of the CC9-coated column with the commercially available β-DEX 120 column and the POC CC3-R coated column recently reported by our group, the CC9-coated column offered good resolution during the separation of some racemates, that were not separated using the β-DEX 120 column or POC CC3-R coated column. Therefore, the CC9-coated column can be complementary to the β-DEX 120 column and CC3-R coated column. The results indicated that the CC9-coated column exhibited great potential for application in the separation of positional isomers and enantiomers with great selectivity, high resolution and good reproducibility. 相似文献

Using induced cathodic electrodeposition a number of silver chalcogenide thin layer membranes of non-trivial composition have been synthesized and their performance as ion-selective flow-injection potentiometric detectors (FIPDs) for free cyanide has been critically estimated in the context of the stringent requirements for toxic cyanide environmental monitoring. AgSCN/Ag2S, Ag2S, Ag2+δSe, Ag2+δSe1−xTex (0 < δ < 0.25 and x ≈ 0.13), Ag2Se and Ag2Se1−xTex electroplated membranes were selected for the present performance-based comparative study in order to obtain a feedback information about the effect of membrane composition. Both silver selenide and Te-doped silver selenide membranes, irrespective of their stoichiometry with respect to silver, exhibit the lowest detection limit for CN− (52 ppb) with linear double-Nernstian response down to 130 ppb. The type of chalcogene anion in the membrane composition proves to exert dominant effect on the general performance characteristics of the newly developed FIPDs. The silver stoichiometry (intrinsic defects factor) and the inclusion of Te-dopant (extrinsic defects factor) have more pronounced effect on the profile of the output signal and exert moderate control on the detectors selectivity and baseline stability. This new generation of CN−—ion-selective membranes for FIPDs exhibits high selectivity against the common interferents present in cyanide effluents such as SCN−, S2O32−, Cl− and do not get poisoned in the presence of S2−. Moreover, their long-term stability and signal reproducibility, which make redundant the regular day-to-day calibration, coupled with the cost-effective technology for membranes preparation and easy re-generation make them attractive candidates for incorporation into automated in-field devices for in situ cyanide toxic species monitoring. 相似文献
