The goal of this note is to give some complements to an article of Fouvery and Pomykala: by anad-hoc method, they bound on average the rank of elliptic curves over in polynomial families:y 2=x 3=a(t)x+b(t) whent varies in under some generic conditions on the polynomials (over a(t),b(t). Here, by a more systematic treatment, we are able to relax most of these conditions, keeping only the natural one (the family is not geometricaly trivial). However, this result, specialized to the case treated by Fouvry and Pomykala, yields a better bound; our method depends on the distribution of the number of points in families of elliptic curves over finite fields (known as the vertical Sato-Tate law), which itself depends on the work of Deligne on the Weil conjectures.

In 1992, Thomas Bier introduced a surprisingly simple way to construct a large number of simplicial spheres. He proved that, for any simplicial complex Δ on the vertex set V with Δ≠V2, the deleted join of Δ with its Alexander dual Δ is a combinatorial sphere. In this paper, we extend Bier?s construction to multicomplexes, and study their combinatorial and algebraic properties. We show that all these spheres are shellable and edge decomposable, which yields a new class of many shellable edge decomposable spheres that are not realizable as polytopes. It is also shown that these spheres are related to polarizations and Alexander duality for monomial ideals which appear in commutative algebra theory.  相似文献

We survey algorithms for computing isogenies between elliptic curves defined over a field of characteristic either 0 or a large prime. We introduce a new algorithm that computes an isogeny of degree ( different from the characteristic) in time quasi-linear with respect to . This is based in particular on fast algorithms for power series expansion of the Weierstrass -function and related functions.

If E is a non-isotrivial elliptic curve over a global function field F of odd characteristic we show that certain Mordell-Weil groups of E have 1-dimensional χ-eigenspace (with χ a complex ring class character) provided that the projection onto this eigenspace of a suitable Drinfeld-Heegner point is non-zero. This represents the analogue in the function field setting of a theorem for elliptic curves over Q due to Bertolini and Darmon, and at the same time is a generalization of the main result proved by Brown in his monograph on Heegner modules. As in the number field case, our proof employs Kolyvagin-type arguments, and the cohomological machinery is started up by the control on the Galois structure of the torsion of E provided by classical results of Igusa in positive characteristic.  相似文献

Let E be a CM elliptic curve defined over an algebraic number field F. In the previous paper [N. Murabayashi, On the field of definition for modularity of CM elliptic curves, J. Number Theory 108 (2004) 268-286], we gave necessary and sufficient conditions for E to be modular over F, i.e. there exists a normalized newform f of weight two on Γ1(N) for some N such that HomF(E,Jf)≠{0}. We also determined the multiplicity of E as F-simple factor of Jf when HomF(E,Jf)≠{0}. In this process we separated into the three cases. In this paper we construct certain CM elliptic curves which satisfy the conditions of each case. In other words, we show that all three cases certainly occur.  相似文献

In this paper we obtain some practical criteria to bound the multiplication operator in Sobolev spaces with respect to measures in curves. As a consequence of these results, we characterize the weighted Sobolev spaces with bounded multiplication operator, for a large class of weights. To have bounded multiplication operator has important consequences in Approximation Theory: it implies the uniform bound of the zeros of the corresponding Sobolev orthogonal polynomials, and this fact allows to obtain the asymptotic behavior of Sobolev orthogonal polynomials. We also obtain some non-trivial results about these Sobolev spaces with respect to measures; in particular, we prove a main result in the theory: they are Banach spaces. J.M. Interaction curves for vibration and buckling of thin-walled composite box beams with arbitrary lay-ups under constant axial loads and equal end moments are presented. This model is based on the classical lamination theory, and accounts for all the structural coupling coming from material anisotropy. The governing differential equations are derived from the Hamilton’s principle. The resulting coupling is referred to as triply flexural–torsional coupled vibration and buckling. A displacement-based one-dimensional finite element model with seven degrees of freedoms per node is developed to solve the problem. Numerical results are obtained for thin-walled composite box beams to investigate the effects of axial force, bending moment, fiber orientation on the buckling loads, buckling moments, natural frequencies and corresponding vibration mode shapes as well as axial-moment–frequency interaction curves.  相似文献

It is natural to conjecture that if a function f is continuous on the closed region determined by a rectifiable 1-cycle Γ and complex-differentiable on the open region then Γf=0. The main result is an extension of the classical Cauchy-Goursat Theorem: the equality conjectured holds (with no boundary condition on f) under the additional hypothesis that the winding numbers of Γ define an Lp function and f satisfies a matching Hölder continuity condition near the image of Γ. (In particular, continuity suffices if p=∞.) The proof uses approximations of a rectifiable path by piecewise linear paths.  相似文献
