The aim of this work is to examine the effect of dilute nitride and/or antimonite on the critical layer thickness of GaInAs quantum wells on GaAs and InP substrates by means of Matthews and Blakeslee force model. The study provides a comparison of the critical layer thickness of the related GaIn(N)As(Sb) QWs in (001) and (111) orientation. Our calculations indicate the importance of antimonite and the proper usage of it with dilute nitrides in order to tailor the active layer thickness and emission wavelength of quantum well laser devices.  相似文献

The Ho:YAP crystal is grown by the Czochralski technique.The room temperature polarized absorption spectra of Ho:YAP crystal was measured on a c cut sample with 1 at% holmium.According to the obtained Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters Ω2 = 1.42 × 10-20 cm2,Ω4 = 2.92 × 10-20 cm2,and Ω6 = 1.71 × 10-20 cm2,this paper calculated the fluorescence lifetime to be 6 ms for 5I7 →5 I8 transition,and the integrated emission cross section to be 2.24×10-18 cm2.It investigates the room temperature Ho:YAP laser end pumped by a 1.91 μm Tm:YLF laser.The maximum output power was 4.1 W when the incident 1.91 μm pump power was 14.4 W.The slope efficiency is 40.8%,corresponding to an optical to optical conversion efficiency of 28.4%.The Ho:YAP output wavelength was centred at 2118 nm with full width at half maximum of about 0.8 nm.  相似文献

The details of Tm3+-doped NaGd(WO4)2 single-crystal growth are discussed, the results of precise investigations of its structural and spectroscopic characteristics, as well as the analysis of cross-relaxation process of Tm3+ ions (3H43F4, 3H63F4) in this crystal are presented. Based on the Judd–Ofelt theory, three intensity parameters, spontaneous emission probabilities, fluorescence branching ratios and fluorescence quantum efficiency from 3H4 and 3F4 levels were refined.  相似文献

A bow shock is formed in the interaction of a high-speed laser-driven plasma cloud with a cylinder obstacle. Its temporal and spatial structures are observed by shadowgraphy and interferometry. The width of the shock transition region is ~ 50 μm, comparable to the ion–ion collision mean free path, which indicates that collision is dominated in the shock probably. The Mach-number of the ablating plasma cloud is ~ 15 at first, and decreases with time resulting in a changing shock structure. A two-dimension hydrodynamics code, USim, is used to simulate the interaction process. The simulated shocks can well reproduce the observed.  相似文献

提出并仿真论证了利用一个双光反馈垂直腔面发射激光器(定义为主VCSEL,M-VCSEL)产生的混沌光平行单向注入到另一个VCSEL(定义为副VCSEL,S-VCSEL)使所产生的混沌信号的延时特征(TDS)和带宽特性得以优化的技术方案.首先,基于VCSELs自旋反转模型,结合自相关分析方法,通过对系统参量进行优化,可使双光反馈M-VCSEL的X偏振分量(X-PC)和Y偏振分量(Y-PC)均输出混沌信号,且两路混沌信号的平均强度相当、TDS均较弱;在此基础上,将双光反馈M-VCSEL在优化条件下得到的混沌信号平行单向注入到S-VCSEL中,以获得两路TDS得到抑制、带宽更宽的混沌信号.通过考察两个偏振分量输出混沌信号的TDS以及混沌带宽在注入强度和频率失谐构成的参数空间的演化规律,确定了系统获取两路TDS被抑制、宽带宽的混沌信号所需的注入参数范围.  相似文献

Recent developments in parity‐time (PT) symmetric systems have ushered in unique photonic devices with enhanced functionalities. While single‐mode laser emission has been demonstrated in such systems, the current designs face severe challenges in applications, either due to their stringent requirement on fabrication precision or nonscalability to larger devices. Here, we demonstrate a general mechanism to achieve single‐mode lasing in coupled cavities, which relies on external mode coupling and overcomes these drawbacks. We find significant gain enhancement for selected modes by external coupling, and our experiments have confirmed the resulting single‐mode laser emission in size‐mismatched photonic molecules (PMs), when only one constituent cavity is pumped. This behavior persists for a wide range of pump power, from transparent threshold to gain saturation, and it is highly tolerant of fabrication imprecisions. In addition, the output intensity of such single‐mode lasers also displays enhancement when compared with the same PMs under uniformly pumping. We believe our results will both advance the understanding of different coupling scenarios in coupled cavities and improve the characteristics of onchip laser sources for practical applications.  相似文献

In this study, original experimental data for fiber fuse in k W-level continuous-wave(CW) high power double-clad fiber(DCF) laser are reported. The propagating velocity of the fuse is 9.68 m/s in a 3.1-k W Yb-doped DCF laser. Three other cases in Yb-doped DCF are also observed. We think that the ignition of fiber fuse is caused by thermal mechanism,and the formation of bullet-shaped tracks is attributed to the optical discharge and temperature gradient. The inducements of initial fuse and formation of bullet-shaped voids are analyzed. This investigation of fiber fuse helps better understand the fiber fuse behavior, in order to avoid the catastrophic destruction caused by fiber fuse in high power fiber laser.  相似文献

Class-B laser systems can be described by a set of slow-fast differential equations with a small parameter, and they exhibit pulsating oscillations in common. In this paper, the impact of the delayed feedback on the pulsating solutions is investigated. At first, a careful analysis of the local stability and bifurcation shows the existence of a series of Hopf bifurcations and double Hopf bifurcations when the strength of the delayed feedback or the delay increases, by means of stability switches. Then, an application of the geometric singular perturbation theory reveals the evolutional mechanism of the pulsating solutions from transients to stationary states, and the effect of the delayed feedback upon the pulsating solutions is examined.  相似文献
