Cu3N films for optical data storage were deposited on Si(100) wafers and 0.6 mm thick polycarbonate DVD base material discs at
a temperature of 50 °C by reactive magnetron sputtering. A copper target was sputtered in rf mode in a nitrogen plasma. For
basic investigations concerning the composition and structure of Cu3N, Si wafers were used as substrate material. To study the suitability of Cu3N as an optical data storage medium under technical conditions, Cu3N/Al bilayers were deposited on polycarbonate discs. The composition and structure of the films were investigated by X-ray
photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD).
The decomposition of Cu3N into metallic copper and nitrogen was induced and characterized with a dynamic tester consisting of an optical microscope
with an integrated high power laser diode. The change in reflectivity induced by the laser pulses was measured by a high sensitivity
photo detector. Optimized Cu3N films could be decomposed into metallic copper at pulse lengths of 200 ns. The reflectivity change from 3.2% to 33.2% for
completely transformed areas and to 12% for single bits as well as the maximum write data rate of 3.3 Mbit/s demonstrated
the suitability of Cu3N for write once optical data storage. Especially the carrier to noise ratio of 41 dB shows an increase of a factor of 3 for
this novel material as compared to conventional optical data storage media. 相似文献

This paper evaluates the performance of a point-diffraction interferometer for closed-loop adaptive optics. A point-diffraction interferometer was built using a modified Mach-Zehnder set-up. The system was used in closed-loop using a SLM to implement a square, 12 × 12, piston-only segmented corrector with a stroke of ±π. Its performance was tested for the case of atmospheric turbulence aberrations. The investigation showed, through simulation and experiment, that the point-diffraction interferometer worked in closed-loop operation in both uniform intensity and scintillated aberrations. Its robustness in the presence of phase discontinuities makes it a promising option for wavefront sensing in strong scintillation. 相似文献

Circularly polarized laser pulses may excite state selective unidirectional toroidal electric ring currents around the axis of oriented linear molecules. These in turn induce state selective magnetic fields. Quantum simulations for AlCl show that these effects are about one or even more than three orders of magnitudes larger than those which may be prepared in oriented planar molecules such as Mg-porphyrin, by means of either circularly polarized laser pulses, or by traditional magnetic fields, respectively. 相似文献

An extensive study was performed and reported for evaluation and optimization of the factors affecting thin film formation of nano-sized Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinolate complex by surface layer-by-layer chemical deposition method. The formation of uniform thin films of nano-crystalline metal complex is heavily dependent on several important factors. Variation in metal and ligand concentrations (1:1–1:3) was found to show insignificant contribution to the molar stoichiometric ratio of the synthesized thin film of nano-sized Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinolate. The number of dipping cycles (2–50) was characterized by strong influence on the thin film thickness. The dependence of the immersion time (2–50 s) was proved to influence the crystal growth and homogeneity of the thin film. The role of pH of metal and ligand solutions was identified by strong contribution in development and formation of deposited Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinolate complex thin film. Finally, the role of solvent on the thin film formation was also studied and evaluated. Metal analysis, SEM, EI-MS, FT-IR and TGA were applied as monitoring techniques of these factors. The optical properties of Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinolate complex were also studied and the complex thin films were characterized by the highest optical transition from π–π* or n, π* states with energy gap in the UV-range at 3.13 eV. The lowest optical transition resulted from d–d transition or metal centered transition with energy 1.5 eV while, the optical transition at 2.35 eV is the contribution of metal ligand or ligand metal transition. In the light of the optical measurement, Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinolate complex can be considered as an organic semiconductor with the potential applications in the design of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEMs). 相似文献

Novel polyphenylacetylene ( P1 ) containing naphthalimides units in the side chain was designed and synthesized. The structure and properties of the polymer were characterized and evaluated by IR, NMR, UV, and PL. The measurements of sensing behavior to various halide anions, that is, F?, Cl?, Br?, and I?, reveal that the polymer is a ratiometric fluorescent chemosensors for fluoride ion. The polymer sensor shows spectral shifts and intensity changes in the presence of fluoride, in a wavelength‐ratiometric and ‐colorimetric manner, which can detect fluoride concentrations in range of 10–100 μM at visible wavelengths. The obvious colorless‐to‐yellow color change and blue‐to‐orange emission color change on the addition of fluoride ion are easily observed by naked eyes. A rotating cylindrical electrochemical cell with a plane ring electrode on its cover containing a binary electrolyte was considered. The equation for the diffusion limiting current density on the ring electrode was derived ignoring the effect of Coriolis force. The solution of transfer equations by the Karman method at the limiting current in the cell allowed us to analyze the effect of Coriolis force on the boundary layer thickness and to determine the conditions, under which the Coriolis force may be ignored. 相似文献

In subnormal glow discharge under d.c. excitation at different pressure in a varying transverse magnetic field (0 to 30 G)
some measurements have been carried out for various initial average tube currents. The voltage across the discharge increases
and average tube current and residual current decreases in the magnetic field. With the help of Beckman’s expression [4] for
the axial field and the electron density distribution in a transverse magnetic field the observed variation of current and
voltage can be satisfactorily explained. The variation of axial electric field with transverse magnetic field can be represented
to a fair degree of accuracy by the derived equation. The behaviour of residual current with magnetic field has been observed
