Experimental results on dc and ac susceptibility, magnetization and magnetic relaxation, specific heat, electrical resistivity and magnetoresistivity up to 8?T are reported for the novel ternary uranium aluminide U3Co4.55Al11.45. The temperature dependence of the dc susceptibility shows a cusp at a characteristic temperature Tf?=?8–10?K that depends weakly on the applied magnetic field. The observed pronounced difference between the ZFC and FC magnetizations, as well as the decay in the remanent, both give evidence that a highly irreversible, frozen state is formed below Tf which is reminiscent of spin-glass behaviour. The real and imaginary parts of the ac susceptibility show that the corresponding Tf peaks are only slightly dependent on frequency. Electrical resistivity measured at zero and in fields up to 8?T indicates that the Kondo-like state becomes dominant at temperatures above Tf. 相似文献
We report on the glass-forming ability and devitrification behavior of Zr60Cu30Al10, Zr60Cu25Al10Fe5 and Zr62.5Cu22.5Al10Fe5 bulk glass-forming alloys on heating. The effect of Fe addition on the structure of Zr–Al–Cu alloys is also discussed. Crystallization kinetics and structural changes in the glassy alloys were studied using X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, differential scanning and isothermal calorimetry methods. The results indicate that good glass-formers, such as Zr62.5Cu22.5Al10Fe5, are located somewhat beyond the equilibrium eutectic point. Possible phase separation in the supercooled liquid on heating and electron beam-induced in situ crystallization are observed and discussed. 相似文献
Molybdenum ions are implanted into aluminium with high ion flux and high dose at elevated temperatures of 200℃, 400℃ and 500℃. Due to the high temperature and high flux of vacancies and interstitial atoms, the atom diffusion and chemical effects are enhanced during the ion implantation. The effects increase with increasing ion flux and dose, so that new phase formation and phase transition emerge noticeably. X-ray diffraction analysis shows that when the aluminium is implanted with Mo ions at a low ion flux (25μA/cm2), the Al5Mo alloy is formed. The atomic ratio of Mo/Al of the Al5Mo phase is close to 20%. When the aluminium is implanted with Mo ions at a high ion flux (50μA/cm2), the phase transition from Al5Mo to Al12Mo appears, and the latter is dominant, which is determined to be the final phase. The ratio of Mo/Al in Al12Mo is 7.7%. Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy indicates also that the Mo/Al atom ratio is ~7% to ~8% in Mo-implanted aluminium. The atomic ratios of the constituents in Al5Mo and Al12Mo are of stoichiometric composition for these alloys. The thicknesses of the Al12Mo alloy layers for Mo-implanted Al with ion doses of 3×1017/cm2 and 1×1018/cm2 are 550nm and 2000nm, respectively. The pitting corrosion potential Vp increases obviously. It is clear that due to the formation of Al12Mo alloy layer, the pitting corrosion resistance is enhanced. 相似文献
The surface morphology evolution of Ni/W alloys was studied, as a function of the alloy composition. Using the modified plating baths developed in our laboratory recently, electroplated Ni/W alloys with different W content, in the range of 7–67 atom percent (a/o), can be obtained. This was found to lead to different structures, ranging from polycrystalline fcc-Ni type structure to amorphous, followed by orthorhombic with increasing W content in the alloy. Powder XRD was studied to determine the crystal structures. Ex situ STM, AFM and SEM were used to study in detail the surface morphologies of the different alloys, and their evolution with increasing W content.
The important findings are that a mixture of two crystalline forms can give rise to an amorphous structure. Hillocks that are usually a characteristic of epitaxial growth can also exist in the amorphous alloys. Oriented scratches caused by stress can also be formed.
Up to 20 a/o of W is deposited in the alloys in crystalline form, with the fcc-Ni type structure. Between 20 and about 40 a/o an amorphous structure is observed, and above that an orthorhombic crystal structure is seen, which is characteristic of the NiW binary alloy. Careful choice of the composition of the plating bath allowed us to deposit an alloy containing 67 a/o W, which corresponds to the composition NiW2. 相似文献
