Isometric Extension Problem Between Strictly Convex Two-dimensional Normed Spaces

In this paper, based on the smooth point of the unit ball and its support linear functional,we show two equivalent formulations of the isometric extension problem between the unit spheres of strictly convex two-dimensional normed spaces. We prove that these equivalent formulations have a positive answer in a special case.     

MDPs with setwise continuous transition probabilities

This paper describes the structure of optimal policies for infinite-state Markov Decision Processes with setwise continuous transition probabilities. The action sets may be noncompact. The objective criteria are either the expected total discounted and undiscounted costs or average costs per unit time. The analysis of optimality equations and inequalities is based on the optimal selection theorem for inf-compact functions introduced in this paper.     

Envy-free matchings with one-sided preferences and matroid constraints

In this paper, we consider the problem of checking the existence of an envy-free matching in a many-to-one matching model with one-sided preferences and matroid constraints. For this problem, we propose a polynomial-time algorithm which is a generalization of the algorithm proposed by Gan, Suksompong, and Voudouris for the one-to-one setting. Furthermore, we consider a stronger variant of envy-freeness.     

Spectral gap of Boltzmann measures on unit circle

We give a two sided estimate on the spectral gap for the Boltzmann measures μ_h on the circle. We prove that the spectral gap is greater than 1 for any h\in ℝ and the spectral gap tends to the positive infinity as h\to \infty with speed \left|h\right|.     

基于最小电压法的超声换能器谐振频率自动跟踪*

首先分析了最大电流法跟踪超声换能器谐振频率的原理及应用范围。研究了基于由串联电感和并联电容匹配电路下,不同频率时换能器两端电压电流的变化规律。研究表明在串联电感和并联电容匹配电路下发生谐振时,换能器两端的电压最小而电流并非最大。由此形成了采用最小电压法跟踪谐振频率的自动跟踪策略,并给出了该方法的具体实施步骤。论文研究结果为换能器谐振频率的自动跟踪方法提供了新的选择。     

An Effective Line Search for the Subgradient Method

One of the main drawbacks of the subgradient method is the tuning process to determine the sequence of steplengths. In this paper, the radar subgradient method, a heuristic method designed to compute a tuning-free subgradient steplength, is geometrically motivated and algebraically deduced. The unit commitment problem, which arises in the electrical engineering field, is used to compare the performance of the subgradient method with the new radar subgradient method.Communicated by M. Stability of efficiency evaluations in data envelopment analysis

Efficiency evaluations in data envelopment analysis are shown to be stable for arbitrary perturbations in the convex hulls of input and output data. Also, the corresponding restricted Lagrange multiplier functions are shown to be continuous. 高阶PMD统计特性研究

讨论了三阶偏振模色散(PMD)的统计特性及其对于高阶PMD补偿系统的影响.数值模拟结果表明,随着即时差分群时延(DGD)的增加,二阶PMD单位矢量旋转速率的统计覆盖范围的变化趋势与主偏振态(PSP)旋转斜率的相应变化正好相反.此外,随着即时DGD的增加,二阶PMD模值的统计覆盖范围不断增加,使得高速光通信系统中高阶PMD补偿的实现将更加困难.     

On a singular perturbation problem with two second-order turning points

In this paper, we study the singular perturbation problem

where 0<ε1 is a small positive parameter, p(x) and q(x) are sufficiently smooth and strictly positive functions. The main feature of this equation is that there are two second-order turning points in the interval (0,1). Based on the rigorous results on singular perturbation problems with one second-order turning point in our previous work, we obtain a uniform asymptotic approximation for the general solution of the above equation by means of a matching technique.
