Chemical species obtained by reaction of 5-amino-1, 10-phenanthroline with ethanedial (glyoxal) are reported with regard to their preparation, chemical composition and spectrometric characterization (UV-visible, infrared and liquid secondary ion mass spectrometry). Products of the reaction are postulated to be a mixture of species with molecular weights of 339, 371,480 and 524 u. Chemical reactions leading to these products and possible structural formulas for each of these species are presented. The iron complexes of these ligands, because of their extremely low solubility in most solvents, find application as redox mediators when incorporated in carbon paste electrodes, particularly for sensing in continuous-flow systems.  相似文献

This paper details the analysis of the enantiomers of omeprazole, using aqueous CE coupled with MS detection. Following our previously published work: where a non-aqueous CE–UV method was developed for omeprazole and 5-hydroxy-omeprazole; coupling to electro-spray ionization (ESI) MS detection has now been investigated, using a sheath-flow interface for introduction. An aqueous CE method was developed and designed to afford increased compatibility with ESI–MS detection, employing an ammonium acetate buffer system (pH 5.8). Common partial filling methods could not be utilized to avoid the entrance of cyclodextrin into the MS, and therefore a modified method of non-continuous-flow CE–MS was applied, with the CE separation carried out without applied ESI voltage, before reapplying and allowing flow into the MS for data collection. A chiral CE separation of omeprazole and 5-hydroxyomeprazole was achieved, and chiral CE resolution of omeprazole has been demonstrated using MS detection.  相似文献

Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) coupled with ion mobility–mass spectrometry (IM–MS) provides a rapid (μs–ms) means for the two-dimensional (2D) separation of complex biological samples (e.g., peptides, oligonucleotides, glycoconjugates, lipids, etc.), elucidation of solvent-free secondary structural elements (e.g., helices, β-hairpins, random coils, etc.), rapid identification of post-translational modifications (e.g., phosphorylation, glycosylation, etc.) or ligation of small molecules, and simultaneous and comprehensive sequencing information of biopolymers. In IM–MS, protein-identification information is complemented by structural characterization data, which is difficult to obtain using conventional proteomic techniques. New avenues for enhancing the figures of merit (e.g., sensitivity, limits of detection, dynamic range, and analyte selectivity) and optimizing IM–MS experimental parameters are described in the context of deriving new information at the forefront of proteomics research.  相似文献

The surface chemical composition of raw unscoured cotton was successfully investigated by the surface analytical techniques X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and Time of Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (ToF-SIMS). The presence of non-cellulosic material at the fibre surface was established and determined to be a complex mixture of fatty acids, alcohols, alkanes, esters and glycerides. The effect of scouring and bleaching was to reduce the surface concentration of these materials but even after aqueous processing some non-cellulosic material residue was still detected at the fibre surface.  相似文献

Rechargeable nickel-metalhydride (NiMH) batteries have major advantages with respect to environmental friendliness and energy density compared to other battery systems. Research on thermodynamics and reaction kinetics is required to study the behaviour of these batteries, especially under severe operating conditions such as overcharging and (over)discharging. During these processes several reactions take place resulting in the formation of oxygen and hydrogen gas. Hence, the recombination processes should be well controlled to guarantee that the partial oxygen and hydrogen pressure inside the battery are kept low.Mass spectrometry is one of the analytical techniques capable of measuring the composition of gases released inside the battery during the charge and discharge processes. However, the sample gas needs to be withdrawn from the battery during the experiment. The gas consumption must be kept to a minimum otherwise the equilibrium inside the battery will be disturbed. A bench-top quadrupole mass spectrometer with a standard capillary by-pass inlet cannot be used for this purpose as its gas consumption is in the 1-10 ml/min range. In this paper, a new gas inlet device is presented that reduces gas consumption to a value <50 μl/h. The use of a capillary by-pass splitter and a discontinuous sampling procedure allow mass spectrometry to be used as a gas analysis tool in many applications in which small amounts of sample gas are involved.Experiments with standard AA-size NiMH batteries show that hydrogen release dominates during (over)charging at increased charging rates. Beside mass spectrometry, evolved gases are also analysed using Raman spectroscopy. Although some differences are observed, the results of similar experiments show a good agreement.  相似文献

Summary A series of 34 alkylcyclohexane hydrocarbons structurally related top-menthane, including all saturated, monoolefinic and aromatic structural precursors from cyclohexane, have been characterized by GC and MS. Kováts retention indices have been determined on five stationary phases (squalane, SE-30, Apiezon L, OV-225, PEG 20M) and the corresponding polarity, temperature and structural increments have been calculated. From the information acquired 10 alicyclic hydrocarbons have been identified for the first time in a pyrolysis naphtha.  相似文献
