This paper presents the implementation of all‐Mach Roe‐type schemes in a fully implicit CFD solver. Simple 2D cases, such as the flow around inviscid and viscous aerofoils, were used for an initial validation of these methods, along with more challenging computations consisting of the 3D flow around the Model Experiments in Controlled Conditions wind turbine, in parked and rotating conditions. This work is motivated by the increased interest of the wind turbine industry in larger diameter wind turbines where compressibility effects near the blade tips may be important. Instead of using an incompressible flow solver, this paper explores the option of modifying an existing, efficient, compressible flow solver for use at lower Mach numbers. The good performance of the Roe solver and its popularity influenced the selection of schemes for this work. The results suggest that effective all‐Mach solutions are possible with implicit solvers, and the paper defines the implementation of the new fluxes and Jacobian, including an investigation of some numerical parameters, using as platform the Helicopter Multi‐Block solver of Liverpool University. We establish the existence of a global solution to a regular reflection of a shock hitting a ramp for the pressure gradient system of equations. The set-up of the reflection is the same as that of Mach's experiment for the compressible Euler system, i.e., a straight shock hitting a ramp. We assume that the angle of the ramp is close to 90 degrees. The solution has a reflected bow shock wave, called the diffraction of the planar shock at the compressive corner, which is mathematically regarded as a free boundary in the self-similar variable plane. The pressure gradient system of three equations is a subsystem, and an approximation, of the full Euler system, and we offer a couple of derivations. 相似文献

A simple, robust, and accurate HLLC-type Riemann solver for the compressible Euler equations at various Mach numbers is built. To cure shock instability of the HLLC solver at strong shocks, a pressure-control technique, which plays a role in limiting the propagation of erroneous pressure perturbation, is proposed. With an all Mach correction method for the compressible Euler system, the proposed method is further extended to compute flow problems at low Mach numbers. The proposed all Mach HLLC-type scheme has been implemented and used to compute a variety of flow problems ranging from hypersonic compressible to low Mach incompressible flow regimes. Various numerical results demonstrate that the obtained all Mach HLLC-type scheme is both accurate and stable for all speed ranges. 相似文献

Shockwave and spallation in silver and other materials by sub-ns laser pulse at 1016 W/cm2 intensity
The laser spallation effect due to intense shockwaves caused by a brief and intense laser pulse irradiating a target surface, 2 mm thick, has been investigated for silver and other materials. For 300 ps IR laser pulse, at intensities of the order of 1016 W/cm2, the shockwave may produce deformations of the back-face in ductile materials, such as Ag, Cu and Al. In heavy materials with high tensile strength, such as Ta, the shockwave produces cracks in the bottom of the laser crater but not deformation in the back-face, while in brittle materials, such as monocrystalline Ge, it produces only superficial cracks and flaking, but not deformation and spallation of the back-face. In thick polymeric materials, such as high-density polyethylene, the ablated crater shape is well defined and the shockwave is strongly damped, and no deformation has been observed in the back-face. The laser ablation yield and the ion acceleration in the backward direction have been measured by mass lost and time-of-flight measurements. SEM microscopy of the different irradiated targets, showing details of the crater size, edges, flaking and deformation in the back-face, useful for a discussion on the shockwave propagation and shock pressure calculation, is presented. 相似文献

采用基于红宝石激光器(波长694.3 nm)的纹影系统,对气相爆轰波绕射进行了初步的流场显示研究。采用单色激光和合适半带宽(15 nm)的滤光片,有效地消除了爆轰波自发光对流场显示的影响。合理设置激光器同步控制系统的触发延时,得到了序列的爆轰波阵面纹影照片。结果表明:图像清晰地显示了爆轰波阵面的诱导激波、横波及化学反应区。当爆轰波在左尖点处绕射,受稀疏波作用,诱导激波与化学反应区明显分离,导致爆轰波衰减为爆燃。分离的诱导激波和折皱的化学反应区在纹影图上清晰可见。诱导激波在垂直支管右壁面反射,诱导二次起爆。畸变爆轰波在水平和垂直支管中均发生马赫反射。提高初压,爆轰波受分叉口几何属性的影响减小,畸变爆轰波在水平和垂直支管下游较易恢复为自持爆轰波。 相似文献

The low Mach number limit for one-dimensional non-isentropic compressible Navier–Stokes system without viscosity is investigated, where the density and temperature have different asymptotic states at far fields. It is proved that the solution of the system converges to a nonlinear diffusion wave globally in time as Mach number goes to zero. It is remarked that the velocity of diffusion wave is proportional with the variation of temperature. Furthermore, it is shown that the solution of compressible Navier–Stokes system also has the same phenomenon when Mach number is suitably small. 相似文献

This paper proposes a 32-tupling frequency millimeter-wave (MMW) filter-free system based on four Mach-Zehnder Modulators (MZM) connected in parallel and cascaded with a simple radio-fiber (RoF) link structure. The four MZMs are all at the maximum transmission point (MATP), and the radio frequency (RF) driving voltage phase difference between MZMs is π /2. The center carrier is suppressed by using an optical attenuator (OATT) and an optical phase shifter (OPS). Two parallel MZMs can generate ±8th order and ±12th order optical sidebands, and the ±4th order optical sidebands can be suppressed by adjusting the modulation index m of the MZM, using cascaded two dual-parallel MZMS(DPMZM) and the phase difference of the RF signal source is π/4 to generate ±16th order optical sidebands. The theoretical analysis and simulation experiments are performed for the scheme proposed in this paper. The results show that the simulated and theoretical values of the optical sideband suppression ratio (OSSR) for ±16th order optical sideband signals are 60.02 and 59.96 dB, respectively, and the simulated and theoretical values of the RF sideband suppression ratio (RFSSR) for the 32-tupling MMW signal are 56.34 and 53.94 dB, respectively. 相似文献
