The graph and range singularity spectra of b-adic independent cascade functions

With the “iso-Hölder” sets of a function we naturally associate subsets of the graph and the range of the function. We compute the Hausdorff dimension of these subsets for a class of statistically self-similar multifractal functions, namely the b-adic independent cascade functions.     

Hölder continuity of discrete Morse flows to the Alt–Caffarelli variational problem generating free boundaries

The present paper shows Hölder continuity of discrete Morse flows to a regularized Alt–Caffarelli variational functional generating free boundaries; the continuity is uniform with respect to the discrete Morse flows and the regularizations. The uniformity enables to construct Morse flows to the Alt–Caffarelli functional, which shall be dealt with in another paper.     

Holographic formula for Q-curvature. II

We extend the holographic formula for the critical Q-curvature in Graham and Juhl (2007) [9] to all Q-curvatures. Moreover, we confirm a conjecture of Juhl (2009) [11].     

The homotopy limit problem for Hermitian K-theory, equivariant motivic homotopy theory and motivic Real cobordism

The homotopy limit problem for Karoubi?s Hermitian K-theory (Karoubi, 1980) [26] was posed by Thomason (1983) [44]. There is a canonical map from algebraic Hermitian K-theory to the Z/2-homotopy fixed points of algebraic K-theory. The problem asks, roughly, how close this map is to being an isomorphism, specifically after completion at 2. In this paper, we solve this problem completely for fields of characteristic 0 (Theorems 16, 20). We show that the 2-completed map is an isomorphism for fields F of characteristic 0 which satisfy cd₂(F[i])<∞, but not in general.

We describe the set of characteristic polynomials of abelian varieties of dimension 3 over finite fields.     

On shock generation for Hamilton-Jacobi equations

The subject of this paper is the generation of singularities of solutions of Hamilton-Jacobi equations set in (0, ∞) × ? fordataofclass C∞. Shockwaves originate from conjugate points. To show sharpness of a known Hausdorff estimate, an example is given in which the set of conjugate, regular points includes uncountably many affine subspaces of dimension n − 1.     

A new proof of partial regularity of solutions to Navier-Stokes equations

In this paper we give a new proof of the partial regularity of solutions to the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation in dimension 3 first proved by Caffarelli, Kohn and Nirenberg. The proof relies on a method introduced by De Giorgi for elliptic equations. This work was supported in part by NSF Grant DMS-0607953.     

The homotopy Lie algebra of classifying spaces

Let X be a 1-connected CW-complex of finite type and L_x its rational homotopy Lie algebra. In this work, we show that there is a spectral sequence whose E² term is the Lie algebra Ext_ULx(Q, L_x), and which converges to the homotopy Lie algebra of the classifying space B autX. Moreover, some terms of this spectral sequence are related to derivations of L_x and to the Gottlieb group of X.
